The Korg microKEY AIR-49 Bluetooth MIDI Controllerfrom Korg microKEY AIR-49 Bluetooth MIDI Controlleris a slim MIDI controller with a pitch wheel, a modulation wheel, and a set of 49 velocity-sensitive Natural Touch mini-keys. If you wish, you can bus-power this unit via the USB port, but the microKEY Air also features Bluetooth capabilities, allowing you to connect wirelessly to Mac and iOS devices. Hooked up in such a fashion, the keyboard can last up to 30 hours on two AA batteries (alkaline are recommended).

An assignable switch jack allows you to plug in a sustain pedal, while two octave-shift buttons allow you to change the range of this three-octave unit. You can make edits to MIDI parameters using the Korg KONTROL Editor software, which is available for free download on the Korg website. This can be useful in customizing the microKEY Air to your specific sensibilities, such as adapting the instrument's velocity curve to your individual touch.

The controller also includes five virtual instruments (Korg Legacy Collection, UVI Digital Synsations, AAS Ultra Analog Session, AAS Strum Session, and AAS Lounge Lizard Session), as well as two apps (Korg Module Le for iPhone and KORG Module Le for iPad). Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. when this controller is used to control more than 9 channels..we need to go to the next bank of faders and after returning to first bank (1-9) previous values of software mixer faders jumped to the new settings when we try to move sliders of nano kontrol?

A: Because the faders are not automated, they will remain in the same physical position when you jump from one bank to another. However the levels on each bank will not change when you shift banks. The levels on the next set of banks will ONLY begin to change if you begin touching the faders.

Q: 2. Do the knobs stop or can they rotate continuously?

A: The knobs on the Korg nanoKONTROL Studio Mobile MIDI Controller have a defined value of 0-127 MIDI Control Change, they do not endlessly rotate.

Q: 3. I want to know that, does this controller can use in Sound Device Mixpre-10T?

A: No. This is designed to controll software within a DAW.

Q: 4. Is this unit comparable to the Korg MC-1?

A: The nanoKontrol Studio offers similar functionality to the encoders on the MC-1, however is tailored more toward DAW program control with transport control and dedicated mute, solo and record arm buttons.

Q: 5. Does this work with Adobe Audition CC?

A: Thank you for your question. This unit will come with M1 Le (License), EzDrummer Lite (License), Lounge Lizard Session (License), and a Ableton "Live" Series (Discount Coupon). it does not come with any Adobe software

Q: 6. Will this work with F8 recorders the same way it works with MixPre10?

A: Yes, the Korg nanoKONTROL2 - Slim-Line USB MIDI Controller should work the same way with the Zoom F8n Multitrack Field Recorder as it does with the Sound Devices MixPre-10 Multitrack Field Recorder.

Q: 7. Can the knobs control gain on a mixpre 10?

A: Yes, but the MixPre must have the required firmware update. The Sound Devices v3.00 firmware update for the MixPre-3, -3M, -6, -6M, -10M, and -10T provides support for third-party USB control surfaces such as the Korg nanoKONTROL Studio and nanoKONTROL2, Akai MIDImix, and Novation Launch Control XL. This update enables connection of these control surfaces to the MixPre to control trim (gain), faders, pan, low cut, reverb, record, stop, and more.

Q: 8. Can the knobs on this controller be configured as relative/infinite or are the absolute only?

A: The knobs are absolute only.

Q: 9. What is the latency/delay for Bluetooth to an iPhone? How many milliseconds?

A: At this time, the latency measurement is not specified by the manufacturer.

Q: 10. The description says it supports Mac, Win and iOs, but the Bluetooth connectivity mentions only Mac and iOs. Won't it work wirelessly with Windows?

A: Yes, the Korg microKEY AIR-49 is now compatible for MIDI to work wirelessly with a PC that is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and Windows 8.1 or later or with a USB adapter that supports Bluetooth 4.0 Smart. [4.5 lb] I have a midi studio and was looking for a small pad controller. I had an Akai MPD 18 that I hated. You had to hit the pads so hard, your fingers would hurt. I found the Korg Nano Pad2 and I love it. It has great pad sensitivity. Plug and play with Live and other software I have.Is it plastic, yes, but well made for $

[4.5 lb] I bought at B&H a M-AUDIO 32 minikeys, Irig 37 minikeys and Axiom 32 minikeys. Why? Because I'm a PRO and need every day a small keyboard on the backpack to make music on the road (actually, on the plane). Well, I could talk about what is good/bad in each on this little keyboards BUT after tried ALL them (a lot of times) I discovered the 37 AIR Korg. I am very happy with the keyboard touch (velocity response) and the keyboard size. It's all about the Korg - it fells like a PRO keyboard in a mini shape :)

[4.5 lb] In the past, I have used a Casio keyboard and a Harmonium as an aid in understanding South Asian classical music. The Casio is not accurate and the Harmonium is bulky. Paired with GarageBand on my MacBook Pro, this keyboard remedies both issues. And the quality appears to be good. 37 keys are just right; 25 would have been more portable but less useful. I am glad I got the bluetooth version. I did have an issue in that the bluetooth required installing Bluetooth Midi Connect from Korg. This was incompatible with OS X Mavericks. I reluctantly risked updating to Sierra. Thankfully it all went well.

[4.5 lb] The Korg nanoKontrol Studio is one of the USB MIDI keyboards certified for use with a Sound Device MixPre 10ii recorder. It connects to the USB-C port of the MixPre, and is automatically recognized and configured. The faders and start/stop controls are marked and permanently configured, as are the record and mute buttons. The dials control the trim, low cut frequency and pan settings, depending on the selected scene. It's all very straight-forward for real time control, superior in every way to the tiny knobs and endless menus of the MixPre.

[4.5 lb] It is a great product. Connected to my Iphone or Ipad using the Bluetooth there is no perceptive delay, the response is very fast. I use a few apps to produce sounds and create music. Some of them: Garage Band, Music Studio, Korg Module Le and others. It is important to first download the app Bluetooth MIDI Connect (BLE-MIDI) to be able to connect the Keyboard using the BlueTooth. I have a few keyboards of different sizes (from nanokey, Microkey 25, 49 to full size). I enjoy this one because is very portable to travel or carry around with no need of extra cables to connect.

[4.5 lb] I love this panel. The design and layout of the controls is sensibly straightforward and easy to get the hang of, and the jog wheel is a huge benefit. If you're using it with Pro Tools, Logic Pro or any other DAW, for the price point this is a terrific way to get hands on control and speed up your workflow.

If you're a video editor don't get your hopes up; at the moment I haven't been able to get it to work with Resolve or Premiere Pro on my Mac running OS Catalina 10.15.5, but PC users may have more luck. I mainly intended to use it for audio work though, so this wasn't a dealbreaker for me.

Overall very happy with this.

[4.5 lb] My neighbors had a huge party. There was ton's of booze in their trash and this raccoon was drinking it all. He came at me like Mom on Thanksgiving. I yelled calm down little homey but bit my girl, Looty right on jeans. Her jeans hurt really bad. He had Looty cornered up against the dumpster. I went inside and ate a Ham and Cheese Hot Pocket for POWER. Then I grabbed my Laptop and my Nanopad 2. I went outside and started dropping some fresh beats. The furry little trash panda danced his heart out for like two hours. He even apologized to my Looty and gave us each a glass of dumpster booze. He was upset because animal control took his little brother Scarple. This was an education. I thank YOU KORG for making it easy for me to please drunk trash pandas. Looty was so impressed that she let me do some elbow stuff. You guys are the best.

[4.5 lb] bh delivered it quickly. i needed the new bluetooth feature. works GREAT. the 5 octave version rocks, i wish korg made a microkey 88 key version. within a short distance, this could be someone's skinny keytar, but for me it just means i can trigger the killer organs and pianos in korg module and my imini app, which is an amazing minimoog sim, and i would know, long time moog fanatic. this keyboard and the imini gives you a minimoog, a polyphonic mini with programmable presets, that you can play on battery on the band bus. the microkey air runs on 2 AA batts, brilliant. key action is excellent and even. AND this time they gave us a sustain pedal input, which in korg module also lets you trigger the leslie effect! totally a great buy, worked perfect outta the box.
