Q: 5. Shooting from a Silverado pickup with a Nikon D810 and a Sigma Sport 150-600mm lens, would the Pro or the Jr. be a better choice?

A: The jr. works fine w/ my 400 mm lens and small car. But I'd say the Pro would be better for your lens and bigger vehicle.

Q: 6. Any idea how many lbs of buckwheat hulls it would take to fill this? For example using B&H # KIR428H MFR # R428H. Thanks.

Q: 9. What is the best size LensCoat LensSack beanbag for use with a Nikon 200-500mm lens: Junior or full size?

A: I watched a video on this and the smaller bag seems to be the right size for that lens. LensCoat has the video. And Id think if youre shopping for bean bag supports, youd know this isnt a bag or case...lol

Q: 10. What is the internal volume of the lens sack?

A: If the dimensions of the beanbag are 19.5 x 11.5 inches (49.5 x 29.2 cm), then the overall volume is 224.25 cubic inches (1445.4 cubic centimeters). That converts to about 1.0 US gallon, specifically 0.971 gallon (3.675 liters). Anything more accurate than that could be provided by the manufacturer.

[Zipper] I bought the LensSack Pro Jr to use in conjunction with my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. It was smaller than I had anticipated but am happy to report that it holds up just fine with D800 plus a Beike BK-45 gimbal. The LensSack comes with a metal plate that inserts into the top of the sleeve. A plastic washer/bush is placed on top of the fabric to protect it against whatever tripod head you decide to attach. I opted to fill the LensSack with basmati rice. While this does make it significantly heavier than filling with the recommended sunflower seeds, I find the smaller size of the rice grains gives a more solid product and sturdier as a result. It has a multitude of uses, from car windows, walls, fallen or low hanging branches or even on the ground. For low angle work, it's great and I love the freedom it gives you, especially if in a confined space. While I like my tripod, I'm forever tripping over the legs when you have little room to move. Provided you achieve the required height for your shot and can adjust your angles via a gimbal, the LensSack is fantastic. The carry handles make transportation easy and the construction and materials of the product are high. My only negative point is that there aren't double zippers, which I was a little disappointed about. Even my cheap studio sandbags are double zippered to ensure the contents don't leak. A minor point but, I worry about catching the zipper tag on something as I move location and it pulls open, spilling my basmati rice contents all over the ground and potentially ruining a days shoot. Other than that, I can't fault it. The LensSack is very versatile, portable and performs very well, considering the amount of weight it supports.

[Cordura] Nice bag but a note on fillers. I did some research and decided to go with Buckwheat Hulls, it took almost 2lbs and I got them pretty cheap from *. Unfortunately in my opinion they are WAY TOO LIGHT to really keep the bag solid enough to not wiggle when you have a tripod head mounted on it. They might be fine for non tripod head use. Not sure what I'll try next, the manufacturer says he uses 5lbs of sunflower seeds in his. Probably good in case too want a snack while shooting.

[0.99 lb] I filled this beanbag with 8 pounds of pinto beans and it is ready to go. Using it with my long lenses is great. Super support in the car window or when lying on the ground. Could not be better constructed. As always, B&H is great!

[Cordura] My kind of photo gear- simple, reliable, useful. Well designed and constructed. Have only put it through a brief field test so far, but can already tell it will be a frequently used accessory. Expect to use it from car window, on a boat, for ground level shots, etc.- with and without a ball head attached. Filled mine with about 9 lbs. of rice which seems about right, but can adjust later if need be. I recommend it.

[Zipper] Going to Africa in 3 months. A lot of time on safari, so I hear, you can't get out of the jeep for safety reasons. So I felt a bean bag would be better than some sort of window clamp or tripod in the vehicle. My travel tripod head mounted easily. I filled it with 3-4 lbs. of sunflower seeds all in small baggies. So it's not too heavy and is very stable. I suppose if I was using a $10,000 600mm canon that weighed over 10 lbs. I'd go with the larger LensSack. but for me this is perfect

[Cordura] This LensSack Pro Jr Beanbag Support(Digital Camo) is an excellent choice when photographing from a pickup truck. The window openings are wide and high enough when you are photographing with larger long lens on the camera or using a scoped riffle. This beanbag doesn't work as well in smaller trucks or cars because the window openings are not high enough. This bean bag would work well if shooting from a stationary blind. Build quality and design are very good. I have found that sunflower seeds are cheaper and lighter than most other fill materials.

[Zipper] The perfect alternative when you don't have your tripod or cannot use one. You just fill it with buckwheat hulls or rice and you're good to go.

[Black] The LensSack Pro Jr Beanbag solves all kinds of problems for me. Raising the window to get the camera to a comfortable level works well. I get sharp shots at max range without a gimbal or ball head. It's easy to handle at just 4 pounds, with Ziploc bags of birdseed. I stay safe, warm, dry and get much closer to wildlife than when I get out of the car. The junior model is a good match for my mirrorless rig.
