Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this mic work with the Nikon D90?

A: No. The D90 does not have an external mic input.

Q: 2. Do these mics need phantom power? I didn't think so, but it won't work with our passive unpowered phone hybrids.

A: Just as Henry H. explained, the mic on the headset is dynamic, so it ould not require phantom power. I use my headset with a small Behringer mixer with phantom power turned off and it works fine. You probably have tried this, but I would suggest making sure your trim and/or gain is turned up because I have found that some mixers resist the signal significantly more than others.I would also suggest listening back with another headset or loudspeaker that you know will work just in case there is a headphone out setting or bad output you are unaware of.

Q: 3. Any perspective on if this might make a good podcast headset? I'm considering pairing it with my RODECaster Pro for mobile podcast production. I'm thinking it would be simple to have mic and headshet cabling integrated (as opposed to mic stand, headphones and cable, mic and cable). Is audio quality solid?

A: This is a good choice for a podcast. It is actually a broadcast quality headset with full frequency response in both the headphone and mic.

Q: 4. Will this mic work with Nikon D3200? I'm not sure whether D3200 has a plug-in power supply, but it does has external stereo mini-pin jack (3.5mm diameter).

A: It works great on he canon 3ti...and should be the same on the Nikon.

Q: 5. Help! I want to connect my BPHS to my MacBook pro for Zoom meetings. What do I need to get the microphone in and the earphones out? Do I need a pre-amplifier?

A: The broadcast headset should be used with an audio interface, such as the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2x2 USB Audio Interface (3rd Generation), B&H # FOSCARSOLO3G. The audio interface would have a mic-pre-amp to accept the male XLR mic output from the headset, and a headphone output for the 1/4-inch stereo connector.

Q: 6. I have a technical question, I'm hoping you can help. - I own a Zoom H5. - I have just purchased the BPHS1 - I want to record Skype interviews (for my podcast) but am a little unsure on how to configure Zoom to achieve this. From my Mac, I have a cable that goes from the audio out, into the TRS input #2 on the H5 - to record my guest's voice. My headset/mic will be plugged into the XLR input #1 on the H5 - to record my voice. What do I need to do, to be able to HEAR my guest's voice? Is there anything in particular I need to configure on the H5?

A: The scenario you are describing requires the routing of audio in a way that is a bit more complex, and would best be served by using a mixer and audio interface. Connect the BPHS1 into a mixer like the Alto ZMX862 Zephyr. Take AUX SEND 1 out and plug it into input 1 of an audio interface like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 USB Audio Interface (2nd Generation). With regards to the skype audio in your computer, Take the master out of the audio interface and plug it into a stereo channel of the alto mixer. Now that all of the audio is in the mixer, take the master output and plug it into your Zoom H5 to record .

Q: 7. Hello, can I use this headset for recording songs as a singer using either an Android cellphone or an iPad? Thank you in advance.

A: This headset will not connect to a mobile phone.

Q: 8. how many ouylets dose it have?

A: If you mean outputs, it has 2. If you mean inputs, it has 6 mono and 2 stereo.

Q: 9. I want to only use the left side of a stereo channel - does the balance pot act like a normal pan pot in this circumstance?

A: When only using the L channel on one of the EPM 6 - 6 Mono + 2 Stereo Audio Console, the channel will output the Left signal as a Mono signal. The panning will operate identically to the other mono channels.

Q: 10. How do I set up Audio-Technica BPHS1 with Rodecaster Pro and a Mac for Zoom calls?

A: The BPHS1 broadcast headset has separate connectors for the microphone and headphones. The XLR connector is the microphone, so that would connect to an XLR microphone input on the RodeCaster Pro while the 1/4" connector from the BPHS1 connects to a headphone output on the RodeCaster Pro. The RodeCaster Pro then connects to your computer via USB.

This cable replaced the stock Rode Wireless Go II cable that suffered from poor shielding when connected to the Sony FX3. This Remote Audio cable is of much better quality and shielding. The noise exhibited with the stock Rode cable was completely alleviated by using this higher quality cable. Length and 90 Switchcraft connectors worked out perfectly.

Perfectly maps all essential functions in Logic and has significantly speeds project workflow. Third party plugins also map to this streamlining automation, mastering and parameter adjustment. Highly recommend for any Logic user.

I’ve been looking for something like this for years and until now it just didn’t exist. Sure, there are generic control surfaces for DAWs but nothing that lets you get direct hands on control with literally any plugin. The plugin auto mapping is actually pretty good but it’s also very easy to set up your own custom maps with the learn mode and included editor, and the ‘select’ mode that allows you to control any plugin parameter with the fader is super handy. I love it.
