It merges both channels of the stereo output from your playback device into a mono signal for connection to an XLR input.

This durable cable is engineered for protection against EMI, RFI, and static noise while maintaining flexibility. The cable features a gold-plated 1/8" (3.5mm) right-angle stereo mini-jack with molded strain relief, and an XLR connector with chuck-style strain relief made by Rean. The 24-gauge OFC conductor, copper spiral shielding, and PE insulation result in a quiet cable with improved conductivity, assuring pure transfer of audio signals.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'd like to use a Shure WL183 mic, with a Sennheiser SK100 body pack. Will this cable do the job?

A: I'm afraid not.

Q: 2. Does this work with Sony UWP or UTX series wireless mic receiver? The receiver mini jack has a threaded protrusion for locking. Normal mini jack is too short to fully plug in.

A: This cable is not meant to be used with the Sony UWP/ URX receiver. Here's the direct Sony replacement output cable for that receiver B&H # SOEC0.46BX.

Q: 3. Will this 4 pin mini XLR connect into the 4 pin TA4F of the Shure SM31 fitness headset?

A: No. The conversion to 3.5mm will not provide the required power to the SM31 Headset Mic.

Q: 4. Can this be used with Shure WBH54 connecting to a standard jack with plug-in power (Rode AI-Micro)?

A: The TecNec TA4M-MPS-1.5 4-Pin Mini XLR Male to 3.5mm Stereo Cable would properly convert the connection of the Shure WBH54 microphone to connect it to a device such as the Rode AI-Micro. However, the operating voltage of the WBH54 is specified at 5V and the Rode AI-Micro's list of compatible microphones all run around 2.5V, so it is uncertain whether the AI-Micro would supply the power necessary through the Tecnec cable and back to the WBH54.

Q: 5. what size is the external mic jac on a sony ax700?

A: The mic input on the Sony AX700 is 1/8" / 3.5 mm.

Q: 6. How is this wired? Does it have resistor to passively Sum the L & R Channels to the XLR? or L & R channels directly summed together without any isolation?

A: This particular cable is a mono ts connection on the 3.5mm connector. It would only see the L channel of a stereo signal. There are no resistors in this cable.

Q: 7. Where is this item - MMSA-115B manufactured?

A: This cable is manufactured in China.

Q: 8. Will this cable carry phantom power? I purchased some from another source and they do not work with my condensor tabletop microphones.

A: They carry phantom power with Crown PCC's just fine. That's all I've tried them with.

Q: 9. Is this the same as an auxiliary cord?

A: The Pearstone Stereo Mini can be used as an Aux cable and will transmit stereo sound from a portable device to an aux input.

Q: 10. Can this cable be used to run line level audio from a mixer to the camera?

A: Yes, you can use the Mogami Gold Stereo Mini Male to 3-Pin XLR Female Microphone Cable to send line level audio from a mixer to a camera, but you must use an in-line attenuator such as the Hosa Technology ATT-448 In-Line Switchable Input Attenuator with 20, 30 or 40dB of Attenuation (B&H # HOATT448) to pad the line level signal so it does not overload the camera's mic input. The ATT-448 can connect directly to the mixer or you can use an additional XLR cable between the mixer and attenuator if you need more length.

[Gold] Feels heavy and substantial, and seems durable. Depending on the source, I reach for this or a Y splitter to feed into my digital recorder.

[9.5 x 9.25 x 1"] I use this cable with the Rodelink wireless audio system (between the receiver and the Tascam DR-100 mkII recorder). Works great !

[Gold] It's always better to use one cable vs using a cable and an adapter. I use this to connect a Rode GO to my XLR. In the past, I would use the Rode coiled cable and an adapter into the XLR, now I just use this. Would prefer if it was coiled

[24 AWG] Great cable for using with external mics that use a 3.5mm to xlr input on cameras. Measure the size you need since they manufacture 1 & 1.5 foot of the same cable.
