Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what size is the external mic jac on a sony ax700?

A: The mic input on the Sony AX700 is 1/8" / 3.5 mm.

Q: 2. Does this work with Sony UWP or UTX series wireless mic receiver? The receiver mini jack has a threaded protrusion for locking. Normal mini jack is too short to fully plug in.

A: This cable is not meant to be used with the Sony UWP/ URX receiver. Here's the direct Sony replacement output cable for that receiver B&H # SOEC0.46BX.

Q: 3. will this cable work with Lectrosonic 5 pin female mini-XLR?

A: No. Please contact us for assistance to find the correct cable for your application. We will need to know what devices you will be using the cable to connect. You can reach us by phone at 800-606-6969 or 212-444-6615, or contact us through live chat on our website and we will be happy to help you.

Q: 4. How is this wired? Does it have resistor to passively Sum the L & R Channels to the XLR? or L & R channels directly summed together without any isolation?

A: This particular cable is a mono ts connection on the 3.5mm connector. It would only see the L channel of a stereo signal. There are no resistors in this cable.

Q: 5. Can this be used for other wireless receivers, to feed an XLR input on a recorder?

A: Yes you can!

Q: 6. Will this cable carry phantom power? I purchased some from another source and they do not work with my condensor tabletop microphones.

A: They carry phantom power with Crown PCC's just fine. That's all I've tried them with.

Q: 7. Can this be used to connect crown 311 headset microphone to a senheisser bodypack

A: Our cable is wired straight thru (1 to 1, 2 to 2), with pins 3 & 4 bridged with a buss wire to the sleeve of the 3.5mm TRS. You will need to confirm the pin configurations of the Crown headset and Sennheiser bodypack to confirm compatibility. Thanks!

Q: 8. Can this cable be used to run line level audio from a mixer to the camera?

A: Yes, you can use the Mogami Gold Stereo Mini Male to 3-Pin XLR Female Microphone Cable to send line level audio from a mixer to a camera, but you must use an in-line attenuator such as the Hosa Technology ATT-448 In-Line Switchable Input Attenuator with 20, 30 or 40dB of Attenuation (B&H # HOATT448) to pad the line level signal so it does not overload the camera's mic input. The ATT-448 can connect directly to the mixer or you can use an additional XLR cable between the mixer and attenuator if you need more length.

Q: 9. Is the xlr connector balanced or unbalanced? Will this work with Sennheiser ew100 series receivers?

A: This Comprehensive cable is not going to work as an output cable for a Sennheiser ek100 camera-mountable receiver. The 3.5mm end needs to be a locking 3.5mm TRS connector and the XLR connector would need to be male. The Sennheiser CL100 cable (B&H# CL100) is the same cable that is included with the ek100 receiver and in ew 100 series wireless microphone systems that include the camera0mountable receiver. This cable is unbalanced. The Sennheiser CL500 cable (B&H# SECL500) is the same balanced receiver output cable that is included with the ek500 receiver and with ew 512P and ew 500 FILM wireless mic systems.

Q: 10. Hey, will this work for using a Shure Twinplex TL47 with a sennheiser wireless system?

A: The TecNec TA4M-MPS-1.5 4-Pin Mini XLR Male to 3.5mm Stereo Cable (18") BH #TETA4MMPS1.5 should work well with the components you have listed.

[Gold] I purchased the Kopul Right-Angle Male Mini-Jack to XLR cable to use with the Tascam DR-60DmkII recorder, and it works perfectly. It's soft and flexible and seems durable. The only quibble I have is the notch on the male XLR connector. Due to the experience of previous reviewers of the DR-60D, I am wary of plugging in any notched connectors. Other Kopul XLR cables are not notched and work worry-free for me, as well as perfectly. As I have stated, it is just a quibble; otherwise, the Kopul right-angle mini to XLR cable works perfectly.

[0.255 lb] Feels heavy and substantial, and seems durable. Depending on the source, I reach for this or a Y splitter to feed into my digital recorder.

[Black] This cord is well made and works great, but is ***** NOT ***** for wireless mic systems! I originally purchased it to use with our Sennheiser wireless receiver to connect to the female mic inputs to my camera (JVC 700) and it does NOT work in that instance because it is NOT designed for that application. I had to crank up the sensitivity on both the lavaliere transmitter AND the output on the receiver to their max to get sound out, which obviously didn't sound great as a result. This cord is designed more for using something that has a higher output than a wireless mic, like an iPhone that you want to output to XLR. In general it works GREAT :-)

[Gold] Great cable for using with external mics that use a 3.5mm to xlr input on cameras. Measure the size you need since they manufacture 1 & 1.5 foot of the same cable.
