The Battery Grip from Vello is made exclusively for the Fujifilm X-T1 mirrorless digital camera. It holds one NP-W126 lithium-ion battery, effectively doubling your shooting time, and provides a comfortable grip when shooting in portrait orientation.

The grip has an alternate shutter release button to facilitate shooting when held vertically with a lock to prevent accidental release. In addition, the grip has extra AE-L, AF-L, and FA buttons, as well as front and rear command dials. It is designed with an anti-slip rubber grip and firm curvature to further improve handling. A tripod socket is included as is a holder for the camera's contact cover.

Q: 1. What Material is the grip made from and is it weatherproof?

A: The model is a polycarbonate plastic. Unfortunately it is not weatherproof. My sincere apologies.

A: Yes it does.

Q: 3. I have the graphite Fuji XT-1. Is there a grip out there that matches mine?

Q: 4. Can batteries be individually swapped out without powering-down the camera?

A: In order to change 1 or 2 batteries in this grip, the battery tray needs to be removed. Therefore, power will be lost during the change.

Q: 5. Sounds like there is a potential issue with the A7Rii. Has anyone experienced bugs with the A7sii? Such as the grip causing the camera to change settings on it's own? I had a Neewer grip for the a7s and there was a bug that kept making the custom button 2 engage randomly...Try to stay away from that!

A: No bugs with my A7sII so far. Much better quality than Neewer as well. Get it!

Q: 6. Dose this work with a6X00? Battery's look the same. Both A7 and A6 use Sony NP-FW50 battery.

A: Cameras like the A6300 do use NP-FW50 batteries, however they have a different design on the bottom than the A7 series of cameras. This battery grip is not recommended with an A6300. Instead we offer B&H #VEBGS4, which is a Vello Battery Grip designed specifically for Sony Alpha a6300.

Q: 7. Does it work on X-t2?

A: I asked Fujifilm (the technical department). They told me that each model is specific in terms of the functioning of the battery grips.

Q: 8. Will this fit a gfx50r?

A: I'm sorry, no, I don't believe there is a replacement eyecup for the 50R, the 50S, yes, but not the R.

Q: 9. will this fit an xt-20?

A: I do not think it will fit, however, there is a short video on you tube by Bjorn Sozumschein of an ocular adapter that may have been made by him. Look under T-T20 eyecup. Hope this helps.

Q: 10. does it have a second mount point for vertical mounting? that would be very useful

A: Unfortunately it does not. However you can always use or get a Ball Head for a Tripod, and that would do the trick.

[1/4"-20 Female] I bought the real FUJIFILM VERTICAL BATTERY GRIP X-T1 when I bought my Fuji X-T1 and I think I paid over $200 for it. After a few years it died. Internet search claims the problem is that a pin inside is bent. I was tempted to send it to Fujifilm for repair but past dealings with their repair department was a nightmare. And would probably cost me twice what I paid for the VELLO. I bought the Vello BG-F1 for about $59. Works great and priced right. Remember it only holds a second battery nothing else, no super technology, no moving parts. The VELLO is better than my Fuji Vertical Grip because the battery door closes and locks. A defect and constant problem in the original Fuji Grip made the battery door finicky and often it would not close, or lock and sometimes fly open. There are a number of videos online on how to fix the door problem with glue and tape, but its easier just to buy the VELLO. 5
