The Ewa-Marine U-FXP Housing is an economical solution for using your manual focus SLR camera near or just under the water's surface. It is manufactured from double laminated PVC and has an optical glass port. It is rated for dives to depths of 33 feet, and useful for snorkeling, shallow diving, or sandy, dusty, and humid weather conditions. The U-FXP gives your camera the best possible protection while being fully operable, and is designed to allow the proper space for a side-mounted flash adjacent to the SLR camera. When not in use, it is relatively light and takes up little space.

A pair of non-corrosive, seawater resistant clamping rails fit together for sealing, tightened by knurled screw knobs. The housing's internal glove allows easy access to camera controls. A cable exit allows for up to four cables to be exited out of the housing. If your setup is too buoyant underwater, the optional BF1 lead weight can be affixed to the bottom of the housing.

The U-FXP housing is for use with manual focus cameras that have a normal shoe mounted flash attached to the side. The largest camera/lens/flash combination that will fit in this housing is 8.8 x 6.0 x 5.1" (WxHxD). The optical port will accommodate a lens with an outer diameter as large as 80mm.

Q: 1. Will a Nikon d7100, 18-140mm lens with a SB-700 flash fit?

A: this outfit will fit in the UBXP however if you have lenses with an 82 mm filter thread then you will require the U-BXP 100.

Q: 2. A D7100 Nikon camera with 18 - 105 67mm lens would fit in?

A: The Nikon D7100 with the 18-105mm lens will not fit in the Ewa-Marine U-FXP Underwater Housing. You could use the Ewa-Marine U-FXP Underwater Housing. You will also need the Ewa-Marine C-A67 67mm Adapter Ring Set. Here are the links: https://bhpho.to/2wbnd6W https://bhpho.to/2HkQrKX

Q: 3. Will this work with a Nikon D800 and what is the widest lens you can use? Will a 15mm work?

A: for the D800 i would use the U-BXP100. any lens that has a maximum 82mm filter thread will work. you always want to use the widest lens possible as there will in any underwater photography some vignetting.

Q: 4. Can I use this housing with a canon 5d mkii and a 24-70 lens?

A: The Ewa-Marine U-AZ housing is fine for the Canon 5D mark II but not the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This housing bag is designed for lenses that are 9 long and have a 62mm filter thread or smaller. The Ewa-Marine U-B 100 is a better choice. This bag housing is compatible with lenses that are 3.94 to 7.87 long and have a filter thread of 82mm or smaller. For the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens you will need the Ewa-Marine C-A82 82mm Adapter Ring Set. Q: 8. I'm looking for underwater housing that would accommodate my Canon 5D III, battery grip, 600EX flash and a 77mm lens (ideally up to 82mm). What reliable options would you recommend for this setup, without breaking the bank?

A: Ewa-Marine bag housings are a reliable option at a reasonable price when working in 20' of water or less. The housing is rated to 150' but water pressure will make it difficult to access the camera controls through the bag. The Ewa-Marine U-BXP100 is their largest housing. This bag is designed to hold an on-camera speedlight and could accommodate internal focus lenses with a maximum 82mm lens filter size. The housing includes the threaded 77mm lens-to-port adapter ring. Other optional port adapter rings including the 82mm adapter is available (#CA82). Wide-angle lenses can be used with this housing. The housing is designed for large DSLR cameras only. Use of a battery grip cannot be guaranteed. [Positive] Light weight and easy to use. I started using it with my Canon EOS10D and am still using it with the EOS 50D. With all other housings I would have had to buy a new one each time I changed the camera...

[33 feet (10 m)] I needed an underwater housing for my SLR so I could use it on a trip that would include some very basic snorkeling. Admittedly I was a little reluctant to jump in the ocean with my camera in what amounted to a plastic bag, but there was nothing to worry about because the bag worked flawlessly. It was real easy to use, the camera went in and came out quickly. Obviously it was cumbersome to use the controls underwater due to there being a thick plastic bag between fingers and the controls but it beat not having a camera that could be taken underwater. I considered buying a rigid housing that would allow for better control interface underwater but I decided since I am not a professional and since I don't do extensive underwater photography investing that much money seemed foolish. An additional bonus is this case folds up pretty small, so tucking it in my camera bag was easy.

[Fixed, flat] Keeping in mind, that I would have needed two seperate housings for my EOS 5D and EOS 7D if I had opted for a hard housing.... I would have spent about 10x as much or more! And would have ended up with the same photographic results....

[Clear, yellow] I went diving for the first time and bought this housing to take my Canon T3i underwater with me. I only dove 7 meters/21 feet, but it worked perfectly fine for me. No leaks or moisture inside at all and it fit my Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens perfectly. There was plenty of room for the flash too. I couldn't really change settings underwater while diving, although I could in the housing above water. I was hoping to switch to movie mode at some point, but wasn't able to. In reality, I don't think I would have been able to hold it straight in front of me steady enough while diving in order to do video anyway. That's probably just because I have no diving experience though. I set it to A+ (scene intelligent auto) mode for the underwater shots so I wouldn't have to change any manual settings. I had to let almost all of the air out in order to get it below the surface of the water, even with the lead weight in the case. Since it wasn't a deep dive, I didn't have any problems with the housing shrinking around the camera at all.I was able to take some photos that I'm really happy with underwater and even above water. The glass doesn't seem to blur the image at all EXCEPT for when you're above water and have water drops on the glass. I also used this case while kayaking in the rain and those shots are blurry.

[All] This waterproof case is dirt-simple, rugged, and relatively inexpensive. Our old Sony is a bit dated, but still a pretty good camera. Now that we have a new Nikon, I'll risk the old Sony for snorkeling duty in Central America this spring.

[Clear, yellow] Here is the most important thing you will need to know... IT WORKS! Putting your 5D Mark III into a body of water with a $2500 dollar lens and a flash does not feel natural in any way the first time you ease it into the water. But life is life and if it was going to leak I was going to find out the hard way, It did not leak. Humidity packets that came with it got rid of fog. The only tricky thing is that you really need to dial in your settings before getting in there, or use it on full auto. I shoot in Pools in Manual and it worked fine with a bit of going back and adjusting settings again. Direct flash looks terrible underwater as it does above water, so I am still not sure I will use flash again for my underwater needs. Great thing is I can turn flash on and off through the housing anyways so, not a big deal to have there just in case. The plastic does warp your lcd image and makes it look cloudy, the first time I thought everything looked terrible until I took it out of the thick plastic housing. Bottom line, this works, and the company that makes it guarantees your gear in case of manufacturing failure. KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!

[All] This really is an amazing housing for the price. The first one I had I used I actually found in the basement at my parents house. It had been sitting there for 10+ years and I did a leak test, still worked, and I used it to do surf photography for the first time. It did eventually split open at the side, but I did catch it before going in the water. It lasted a good 6 months which was amazing because it was at least 10 years old. So I bought another one! I loved the second one for a long time and my mistake was leaving it in the car in the heat :-( It shrunk because it got too hot in my trunk, then when I put the camera in it, the housing was soft and the side split open. My fault here for sure. So I bought another one, hahahaha :-) Moral of the story here is to just continuously do water checks for your housing, it is soft housing so just be aware of not leaving it in your car for a day when you aren't using it, but this has been such an amazing an affordable option for me until I can buy a proper water housing. The only downside is it is too hard to change the settings once the camera is in the housing. So I use masking tape to keep my lens set at infinity, then I set my aperture and shutter speed depending on the light, sometimes auto if it's one of those days, and then just go for it! I have taken some amazing photos and love love love how much I've learned to get creative with my settings because of the restriction of being able to change it in the moment :-) It gets 5 stars because for a tenth of the price I get to create amazing photos and enjoy surf photography! I don't have to wait to spend 2500+ on a housing to do what I want :-) And as with any type of water housing, there is always a risk of ruining your camera. I already lost one camera to the sea :-) But the joy of ocean photography is so worth it so I'm willing to jump into the possibility of doing it again! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!
