Ubiquiti's INVICTUS silicon and radio architecture are designed specifically for long-distance, outdoor wireless applications. Their INVICTUS core communications processing engine surpasses virtually all of the limitations inherent to generic Wi-Fi chips to help provide superior performance, long-range capability, DFS flexibility, and power output.

The 3 GHz frequency band offers interference-free operation, enabling the AF-3X to provide a high-reliability backhaul solution, although a license may be required in some regions.

Channel width flexibility (10/20/30/40/50 MHz) allows independent TX and RX channel frequency configurations virtually anywhere within the radio band to avoid local interference, and the channel centers are selectable in 1 MHz increments. You also have the ability to program different uplink and downlink duty cycles to support asymmetric traffic requirements

The airFiber AF-3X is designed to provide the highest TDD throughput and lowest latency available using proprietary Hybrid Division Duplexing (HDD) technology.

With tower space at a premium, the importance of being able to co-locate equipment is becoming an essential attribute for modern wireless networks. The airFiber AF-3X is engineered to permit multiple radios to operate side by side, allowing maximum spectral efficiency.

Precise GPS frame synchronization enables co-located airFiber AF-3X radios to transmit and receive data without interfering with each other, enabling better frequency reuse and increased network stability.

Using advanced digital signal processing, the innovative airFiber AF-3X radio design has an ultra-clean transmitter output, reducing broadband noise, facilitating co-location, and enabling higher-order modulations like 256QAM for greater throughput.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this with airFiber 5 GHz Mid-Band Bridge

A: It seems that they work in different frequencies. in order to take full advantage of a Point-to-Point setup, you should use the same devices on both end.

Q: 2. Hello I live in the Poconos I have no internet service it’s wood place. My Nebor is like 1 mile away from me it’s all tree. Is that going to work for me ?

A: The airFiber is great at transmitting the data to your location and still maintain great speeds. However, you still need a network provider to provide the internet. This is does not provide the internet.

Q: 3. Does this supply 48v for the G4 camera line?

A: The NS-5AC-US will only output 24V for the camera.

Q: 4. What does it do can I use it for a TV antenna or cell phone antenna I'm asking a silly question cuz I don't know thank you

A: The Ubiquiti Networks AF-5G23-S45 23 dBi Antenna for airFiber AF-5X 5 GHz Carrier Backhaul Radio, can not be used as a TV antenna. It is meant to be used to transfer data only for airFiber. Please Note: This is not a small antenna.

Q: 5. Does this antenna have a snow cover available?

A: We do not carry snow covers for the Ubiquiti Networks airFiber 60 LR Wireless Bridge.

Q: 6. Can this be used in a SMPTE ST 2110 IP Video network?

A: We believe that the Ubiquiti Networks airFiber 60 XG Point-to-Point Wireless Bridge could work. But you would need to check your requirements for bandwidth. The Ubiquiti Networks airFiber 60 XG Point-to-Point Wireless Bridge has an up to 6 Gb/s Throughput.

Q: 7. Do 2 dishes come in a pair for the purchase of $399? Do they include the alignment tool you can use your eye to align them much easier???

A: Only one Wireless Bridge is included with the Precision Alignment Pole Mount.

Q: 8. What's the maximum range for these puppies while maintaining 1Gbps reliable? I'm trying to fix Isla Mujeres's internet situation without having to route a fiber line through the ocean floor

A: This would be heavily dependent on any obstructions and deployment environment. I would recommend calling us at 800.606.6969 that way we can have a specialist look into the situation in depth.

Q: 9. how many airfibers do you need?

A: These devices have to be used in pairs. You would need 2 of them.

Q: 10. How direct of a line of site is required

A: It may get through a few trees, but I would not recommend No Line of Sight. Near Line of Sight may be problematic.

[Master/Slave] Works great special for long range

[airOS F] Short and sweet:

pros:

-Management radio (really easy to set up)
-2 ports (It will pass passive poe or 802.3af. AWESOME!)
-Airmax 8 is solid

Cons:
- No mount? Really? How are you supposed to aim them at all with just a zip tie? The nanostation mount doesnt fit these.

I don't believe these can act as an AP to say something like your phone. I'll update this if I try but pretty sure Airmax stuff only works together and cant be turned off on this model.

Other comments: Ubiquiti's own Nanoswitch needs 802.3at so I could get another couple ports and not start mixing in odd equipment. But thats just something I wish I could use with this.

[airOS F] Installed two of these on an 18.6 mile path shooting across metro Las Vegas Nevada. Signal level is very close to theoretical based on the Air Fiber 5 radio's calculation. Well designed, easy to assemble and erect. Will buy again.

[Master/Slave] Needed to set up a point to point radio link as Cat 5 distance was too long. Never implemented a point to point radio link before. Very much enjoyed the learning process, watched videos on YouTube. Set up was easy, one big advantage of the Nanostation AC is PoE passthrough to the secondary port, however wasted a few hours wondering why the remote camera was not working - Ubiquiti provide a 24V PoE power supply with the unit, the camera requires 48V PoE. The Nanostation AC works with either 24v or 48V PoE. I purchased a 48V PoE installed it and thereafter everything worked well. Very pleased with the product.
