$19.47 $29.59

This 72mm 72mm 3-Stop ND Filter by General Brandprovides a 3-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time, you are able to create images with motion blur or by opening up your aperture to create shallow depth of field. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters. This neutral density filter is constructed from glass and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring for durability while remaining lightweight.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the stop markings on the filter equal to 1/3 stop?

A: Yes

Q: 2. Is this meant to be threaded onto a lens with a 55 mm filter size, or a lens with a series 7 filter size?

A: This ring is meant to mount a Series 7 filter on a lens with a front diameter of 55mm

Q: 3. What is outside diameter? I want to attach a screw in hood.

A: The outside diameter is 62mm.

Q: 4. What size cap will fit this filter?

A: I contacted a technical Rep with Bower, and he tried it with both a standard type 52mm lens cap, and also the newer design many manufacturers are using with the center-pinch type and both fit without issue. I'm not sure what that comment in the customer reviews may have been experiencing but it will hold a standard 52mm lens cap.

Q: 5. I have a 72 mm filter and am purchasing a lens with 58 mm filter size. Need a filter ring?

A: You would need a 58mm to 72mm step up ring:https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809629-REG/Sensei_sur5872_58_72mm_Step_Up_Ring.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809629-REG/Sensei_sur5872_58_72mm_Step_Up_Ring.html/a

Q: 6. Hi I have a canon 50mm 1.8 stm lens will this fit on it thankyou

A: No,canon filter size is 49mm.You should buy 49mm variable neutral density filter.

Q: 7. Will this allow the use of a B60 Pro Shade to the Zeiss Sonnar C 250 lens, which is B50?

A: This General Brand Hasselblad adapter allows a filter or hood that has a Bayonet 50 mount to fit on a lens with a Bayonet 60 mount, therefore it would be the opposite of what you need.

Q: 8. will this fit the DZOFilm Pictor 20 to 55mm T2.8 Super35 Parfocal Zoom Lens?

A: Yes Bower 86mm Variable Neutral Density Filter is compatible with that lens.

Q: 9. Will this adapter ring work with a Nikon P610, to use with a snap on lens hood?

A: It is our opinion that no this would not work and only result in the filter falling and breaking. There are third party adapters available elsewhere on the net so that you can put a 62mm filter on this camera.

Q: 10. is there a filter that cuts reflection of car interior, w camera mounted to window on the inside, shooting out the car window?

A: Best for reflections is using a polarizing filter not an ND. This is some options, https://bhpho.to/46vbdOC.

[72 mm] Excellent value

[72 mm] I haven't had any problems focusing with this filter when set to the lower stops. I haven't tried to focus with the darker side 6-10 stops, but would think any camera would have a problem. Seems to be well made for the price.

[Glass] Very easy and precise adjustment of the amount of light entering the lens with this filter. I use it to reduce light intensity in order to use low speeds at panning shots of cars

[0.155 lb] Those variable ND filters are PERFECT. I love the fact that is does not have infinity rolling, so you actually know when you're at the minimum or maximum filter value. Just like a regular iris. Way better than the others brands, where there's no physical limit so you can turn it all the way to the max, and suddenly switch to the minimum value...

[Aluminum] If you understand how this filter works and use it properly you will get excellent results. At first I was wary because of some of the negative reviews along with the price, however both points I have proved wrong. First you don't have to spend hundreds to get a good filter, second some people have no business writing reviews. Yes the dreaded X effect it is easy to achieve especially at wide focal range but it is also rather easy to eliminate, If you have the flexibility. Note all these filters have this limitation since they are basically just two polarizing filters. I found no distortions or color problems out of the ordinary and have easily gotten all the results we buy these types of filter for. With this 95mm size using step-down rings I can use this on three of my lenses. I have noted some have mentioned not being able to use lens hoods, not sure how hoods would be used conveniently with a rotating filter to begin with. And the only time I use a lens cap is when I am done for the day. The filter feels solid and well made and the ring moves nice and smooth with no loose play, the filter also comes with a really rugged hard shell case and a lifetime warranty. I have a number of filters some Bower, Hoya and B+W that were way pricey but the 95mm B+W Variable ND is just way over priced IMHO So in the end glad I went with this it has proven I don't need to overpay to get good results

[Aluminum] I took this filter out on a sunny day and the results were exactly what I hoped for. The adjustment ring is nice and tight so it won't move unless you move it intentionally. Only downfall is that the lens cap won't fit over the filter.

[Solid ND] I do not use this a lot, but when I do it performs as I would expect on my D750 and associated lenses. Would buy it again.
