Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the stand and telescoping boom made of?

A: The boom is made from solid core iron, the base is cast, and the vertical pole looks like iron, too, although Tama does not specify. https://www.tama.com/usa/products/detail/ms756lbk.html

Q: 2. Does this version of the Q Block have the protruding nubs for connecting multiple blocks together?

A: No, the Quasar Science Q Low-Profile Block (2-Pack) does not have the nubs to connect them together.

Q: 3. Will this fit the mounting holes atop the Sony FX3/FX30?

A: The SmallRig Low-Profile NATO Rail (2.8") will fit onto the top of the FX3/FX30 but you may need longer screws.

Q: 4. What is the weight of this item in grams?

A: The ARTCISE XB54 Low-Profile Ball Head weighs 608.3 grams.

Q: 5. What is the diameter of the tie-down?

A: The Matthews Low-Profile Mitchell Tie-Down has a diameter of 3.5 inches.

Q: 6. I think the description is wrong. No way this stand goes up to 21 feet. Is this correct?

A: According to the datasheet from K&M, the 25977 stand goes up to 24.6" https://www.k-m.de/us/kmPdf/datasheet/ordernumber/US-25977-500-55

Q: 7. Will this particular product fit on the side of a Sony FX 30? Looking for vertical video solutions.

A: The SmallRig Low-Profile NATO Rail (2") could mount to either of the FX30's side 1/4"-20 threads, but it needs two threads to provided a sold mounting point, so it would not work well mounting diretly to either side of the camera. If you happen to have a cage on your FX30, then the SmallRig Low-Profile NATO Rail (2") would likely work better as it would have more threads to mount to.

Q: 8. Any idea what the max load is for this nato rail? I have it on top of my camera cage and I use it with a Nato top handle.

A: Max payload is not listed by the manufacture for this product, but if you tighten the screws provided with the nato rail to the cage, holding 10+ pounds should not be an issue.

Q: 9. What is the connection type from the arm to the C Clamp? This clamp is too small for my desk. I'd like to use the Neewer ST-CCD1

A: The connection type from the arm to the C-clamp of the Neewer Low-Profile Desk-Mount Boom Arm for Microphone (BH # NE66602458) is not specified. It is not compatible with the NEEWER ST-CCD1 Heavy Duty C Desk Clamp.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with the Sunwayfoto PCL-6DR L-Bracket for Canon 6D?

A: Yes, the Sunwayfoto PCL-6DR L-Bracket for Canon 6D DSLR Cameras (RRS Compatible) would be compatible for use on the Sunwayfoto XB-28 Low-Profile Ball Head.

[Boom Stand] I've always heard that Atlas was high quality, and now I feel sure of it. I didn't want to spend the bucks right now, but I thought: I don't need a kick drum stand to give me grief and slip and slide all over the place. This base has nice rubber feet on it, the adjusting part is smooth as can be. I can just feel and see the quality of this stand. It's the heaviest base I could find, so I don't think I'll need any other weights, but even if I did, this thing feels like the real deal, because I think it is. I bought a boom: Atlas PBZ1xEB, and that feels like the same quality. Both of these are built like a brick you know what. Marc

[Steel] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works well for holding mic especially when doing video calls or recording podcast content. Easy to set up and low profile so it doesn't take up too much space on my desk and isn't too cumbersome to move the angle.

[Telescoping] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thronmax twist low profile microphone boomarm is my first. I’m very happy with it. It’s sturdy and moves smoothly, easy to set up and easy to move while recording if needed. Still learning.

[Telescoping] I bought the TAMA Tour Mic Stand to take on location audio situations that require a voice over along with specific voice over style microphones. This is primarily for clients that prefer or feel more comfortable having a mic stand. The TAMA Tour Series stand gets a 5 Star rating primarily for its solid build quality with a reasonable weight to keep it portable and easy to transport. I prefer the TAMA Tour round base because the stand does not thread directly into the base ( a weakness of other brand round base stands) and is not subject to cross threading or breakage at the base. The center shaft of the TAMA stand actually slides into the base and is secured by a T-bolt from the bottom side of the round base. Genius! I prefer the TAMA Tour Series to other non-TAMA brands for solid performance, portability and durability. I would not consider adding a boom arm to this particular stand and suspend any of my microphones at any distance away from the main shaft. If you need a boom arm stand get one with a tripod base for stability. For vocalists, public address or voice over this stand will serve you well. Disclaimer: the only stands I like better than the TAMA Tour Series stands are the TAMA Studio Series stands which are the finest mic stands out there. They are extremely stable, built like a tank, and heavy! The Studio Series is hands down the best mic stands you can buy in my book. If you dont move your mic stands around much for location work, get the Studio Series. If you move your mic stands around frequently and portability is at the top of your list, then the Tama Tour Series deserves your serious consideration.

[Telescoping] While Atlas now has this stand produced in China, the quality of construction seems like it is still the same as always. The one place where a lot of the other mic stand companies fall short if in the clutch mechanism for raising and lowering the mic stand. This has the solid, threaded clutch that is on all the Atlas stands I have ever owned, going back to the 1970s. I added a 12 black gooseneck and a short boom stand as options for added versatility to my boom stand---both of which I highly suggest. If you are seeking a short mic stand that will last throughout your career and one that has added flexibility, look to the Atlas DMS7E.

[Black] I needed a heavy duty stand for what appears to be heavier and heavier microphones (Rode NT1A with its shock mount and pop filter, and the Equitek100S which is a very solidly built microphone) that we use for radio and podcast interviews. This does the trick, and the release clutch on the post works well. The wide base takes up a little more room than normal mic stands but the added stability is worth it.

[Black] Went on YouTube and saw this product and everything that came with it. It was a little cheaper than the others while having the same quality. I went on B&H's website and they had it available. Since I live in NY it was nothing to go and pick it up plus I like talking with the sales associate to make sure it would be perfect for my needs. I use it in many locations throughout my apartment and it fits any microphones. It came with so many parts that I am currently not using but excellent when I do decide to use. A great product to grow into. You can also use it to hold a camera and cellphone at the same time with the additional plate and it has additional poles for adjustment height. Thinking about buying another one just for that purpose.

[Black] This is an excellent stand for a kick drum mic. Be sure to get the boom that goes along with it. It is a great combination.
