  • It is a triple redundant 12.8V, 60A/hour Lithium iron phosphate battery pack. Each of the three onboard 20A battery packs contains individual cells that were chosen for their high capacity and their ability to be rapidly charged or discharged.  This cell can be charged at a full 3C rate. The cells are factory measured, graded, and matched into precision sets for a better quality battery. It also contains built-in cell balancing electronics for a long life.

  • This power supply is built around a highly integrated 600W switching power supply/charger. The AC input is fully-filtered for common mode and differential noise, harmonic content, and spikes. This supply contains a built-in current limiting function to further protect itself under extreme conditions. In addition, the charger has been designed to provide clean, quiet charging power so as to not cause noise problems in the field.

  • The DC path of the power supply has been designed to provide clean, quiet, reliable DC power for all of your audio and video equipment needs. Each output has its own dedicated output filter that contains both audio and RF frequency filters. Each output is also individually polyfuse-protected and monitored via easy-to-read front panel LED indication. There are a total of eleven outputs; two 8A outputs, two 5A outputs, and seven 3A outputs. To lower internal power losses and extend battery life, the circuit boards are made with 4 oz copper.

  • This power supply comes with a small remote control box. The use of the remote control allows the Power Star LiFE to be mounted down and out of the way on the sound cart if desired. This remote contains an additional set of on/off controls, an additional battery fuel gauge, digital LED volt and current meters, and four USB charging ports. It can be operated with or without the remote control box.

  • The power supply is convection-cooled without the use of any fans.

  • This power supply is equipped with multiple-point rack rail mounting brackets. These brackets can be mounted from either the front or the rear of the power supply and can be offset to provide clearance for XLR connectors in tight rack space environments.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this battery power a recorder/mixer and 4-6 wireless receivers for a whole day of shooting (10-12 hours)?

A: The battery life of the PSC Pelican LiFE Battery with Charging Port is dictated by the specific draw of the equipment connected to a corresponding battery distribution system on the sound cart. In general, one PSC LiFE battery should last for several hours and possibly a whole 10-12 hour shoot day, but it is best practice to have a spare on hand if needed.

Q: 2. is this device can power 12t microphone?

A: The Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery supplies 12 or 48V of phantom power, but does not supply 12V of T power. Although phantom power will not generally damage a T-powered microphone, they use different circuitry and T-power microphones cannot be properly used with phantom power supplies. A recommended T-power product can be found in the Denecke Dcode PS-T Microphone Power Supply (BH #DEPST): https://bhpho.to/3vd9fT2

Q: 3. Will the female XLR output fry my Tentacle Track E with Phantom Power?

A: The female XLR connection on the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery accepts an input connection and supplies phantom power to connected microphones. The XLR male output connection on the P1 could be adapted to pass signal along to the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder.

Q: 4. Does it works with 2054 style Smart Batteries? And if so, which cable would I need to Buy?

A: The PSC PowerStar RF Power and Diversity Antenna Distribution System can be used with two batteries. For 2054-style batteries, we have the Deity Microphones S-95 Smart Battery (B&H # DEDTS0287D68) which can be connected to the TA4F power terminals using the Deity Microphones SPD-T4BATT TA4F to Hi-Q Battery Cup F Smart DC/Data Power Cable (B&H # DEDTS0287D60).

Q: 5. Could I use this to power my Rode NTG1 and output to a XLR to 3.5mm adapter cable to input into a Canon 90D?

A: Yes, the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply with Rechargeable Battery can be used to provide phantom power to the Rode NTG1 Shotgun Microphone, and its output signal can be adapted for a 3.5mm input connection to a DSLR camera.

Q: 6. Can this be used such as: mic - P1 - FetHead - recorder? I'm looking to boost a quiet mic more than the FetHead Phantom can, but then still supply phantom to a condenser mic.

A: If your recorder does not supply phantom power, the Xvive Audio P1 Portable Phantom Power Supply can help with your setup. The phantom power from this P1 power supply would pass through a Fethead Phantom, to your microphone which needs it. Please contact us at audio@bhphoto.com for more advice specific to the microphone you have, and the sounds you are trying to capture.

Q: 7. Does this keyboard work with a Mac? Clue: no, it won't need drivers. Why do they make it seem like it only works with Windows? That can't be right.

A: The keyboard will work with no problem with Mac and windows.

Q: 8. I assume that this device can be used in conjunction with the Powerstar Quad? Can the veracity highwire vhw-hw be used instead with the Quad and have a power supply on the Quad?

A: Yes you can since the Quad accepts PoE and non PoE IP cameras.

Q: 9. Does this work with QLXD Systems?

A: No. There are two variations of the adapter. The one you need for the QLXD receiver is the Shure PS124 Power Supply With Non-Locking Power Connectors (B&H # SHPS124), not the PS124L. The PS124L has locking connectors and is designed for use with ULX, GLX-D Advanced, GLX-D and ULX-D Wireless systems, as well the PSM 900 Personal In-Ear Monitoring system. The PS124 non-locking is designed for use with the PG Wireless, PGX, QLX-D and SLX Wireless systems, as well as the PSM200 and PSM300 Personal In-Ear Monitoring systems.

Q: 10. Does the unit come with a power supply already or is that separate?

A: The Veracity HIGHWIRE Powerstar QUAD does not come with a power supply. A 57V power supply is separate.

[35.005 lb] This worked right off the bat for us and some infrastructure where we could not pull new CAT cable but had pre-existing Coax. It's also a great bonus that they serve as PoE injectors if needed. Fantastic product. Don't forget that you need the other end, the camera side aka the receiver.

[35.005 lb] I normally buy the Remote Audio BDS power distribution box but I had one fail on me recently. This took me by surprise because in over 30 years of doing location audio I have never had a power distro fail on me. I have back ups for most everything in my kit but I didn't have a backup for the BDS. The BDS died on a job and it was a panic because my receivers are not battery powered. I had to come up with a McGuyver so I tore apart a bunch of stuff and rigged something that would get me by for the day. The next day I took a close look at the broken BDS to see if I could fix it. No luck and it was out of warranty. I went online to B&H to order a new one but found the PSC instead for a lot better price. I know PSC makes quality stuff but I was not sure it would work with my setup. It arrived within a couple of days and I have been using it now for about a month. I can tell you it works just as good as the BDS, was considerably less money, has the same number of outputs and inputs and is slightly smaller. Hopefully it will not fail me like the BDS did but just in case I think I'll order another one for a backup.

[31 lb (14.1 kg)] I have a few cameras that will not provide phantom power and this is doing the job of allowing me to use mics that need power. The signal through it has been crystal clear for me. And I can't tell you how much I love that it is rechargeable. No need to replace batteries. I've yet to even come close to it running out of power (says it lasts up to 40 hours!), but the fact that you can attach a portable power bank to keep it running if need be is nice to know. That is fantastic. To be able to change between 48v and 12v is a great feature. I'm super happy with this product.

[31 lb (14.1 kg)] I'm using this with a PA system by Samson which does not have phantom power to operate a Sennheiser ME2 lav. It works beautifully selecting the 12 volt option. I am also using this in comibnatinon with a Sennheiser SKP G4 transmitter with an Oktava MK-10. The unit works great and adds zero noise.
Highly recommended.

[31 lb (14.1 kg)] When using this to power a Ubiquiti Wifi radio up on a tower, we only had to run the one RG6 coax, plug it in and done! Works absolutely great. I, especially, like the indicator on the other end to tell that everything is ok.

[31 lb (14.1 kg)] This is a fantastic solution to powering a mic. I use a Sennheiser MKE600 and although it can be powered via AA batteries, I don't trust that they'll last an entire day of shooting, nor is there a way to monitor the power level at a glance. This solves all of that. Clear power indicator lights, all-day battery, and it's rechargeable.
As other reviewers have stated, my only wish is that it had a 1/4-20 threaded hole so I could mount it to my camera. I made it work using hi-strength velcro and a rubber gear-tie from Lowes but it would really be perfect if it had a threaded mount.
Overall still very satisfied, and I got it used for about $30 bucks. So this solves your mic power for about the price of two packs of AA's.
