The BEM-1F BrightEye Mitto 3G Fiber is an HD scan converter from Ensemble Designs that converts DVI video input into SDI, HD-SDI, or 3G-SDI formats, while also allowing the user to select which part of the screen to output. VGA and HDMI input are also supported, but require the use of additional adapters; this unit comes with two VGA to DVI adapters. In addition to DVI input and output (loop out), the BEM-1F supports a reference signal input, an SDI output, a composite video output (all on BNC connectors), and another SDI output via optical fiber (LC connector). Both analog and digital audio input are supported via a 3.5mm socket, and audio output can be embedded onto the SDI outputs or sent to an AES output (BNC connector). There is a standard USB Type-A port and an RS-232 port for control via a computer or other peripherals.

The BEM-1F, in conjunction with the included BrightEye Software for Mac and Windows, allows computer video to be used for the most demanding applications including broadcast, high-end military, medical, classroom, church, and corporate events. Even a small part of the screen, such as a Skype window, can be selected with a mouse and converted to full screen HD. Resize the selection window by clicking and dragging with your mouse. From your desktop, you have complete and intuitive control of video format, video levels, output timing, audio delay, and the audio channel mix. The BEM-1F provides the functionality and control to operate as a router or switcher.

I have a Free To Air Satellite Receiver that receives and displays most Ku Band Satellite TV channels in 720p HD format, which is watchable but oftentimes annoying; nowhere near the 1080i quality I would like. So if I ran an HDMI cable from the Free To Air satellite reciever to the Up Converter, and another HDMI cable from the converter to my TV, will I get the nice crystal clear detailed 1080i picture instead? Or will it still look fuzzy and kind of out of focus? I'm willing to blow the money for your product if it will display in true clear detailed 1080i quality. I hope you can please let me know. A: This is a great converter. I've bought a few of them for various applications. It will absolutely do the conversion you're asking about. The quality you get on the output will be entirely dependant upon what you put in. If your source is HD then you can expect a good picture going up to 1080.

A: Using the analog audio input it will embed audio onto the HDMI output.

Q: 8. Do the SDI and HDMI outputs operate simultaneously? I want to bring HDMI out of a video codec and send it to a LCD monitor but also loop back in to a Tricaster for easier viewing when in the Tricaster application. HDMI IN SDI OUT to Tricaster AND HDMI out to LCD basically.

A: The HDMI and SDI outputs will both be active on the DAC-70. You will be able to convert HDMI to SDI and also use the HDMI output.

[1 x BNC] easy to use and hook-up is simple. I like the features and price over other units. I own Kramer, Analog way, and Aja products this performs with the best of them. I own many Datavideo products and never have any issue with them. 5

[AES3id, S/PDIF] Captured VHS TAPE with plenty of problems on the tape, composite video + audio IN to SDI OUT, in to Blackmagic capture card. over two hours of capture didn't drop a frame, kept perfect sync of Video and Audio. when there where video problems on the tape, the TBC freeze the video for that amount of time. Video thru the TBC, is exactly as the source, (unless you want to change it in the proc AMP). Very Nice control software installed on windows 10 the only problem is B&H Website and the phone assistant said that the power adaptor was not included. but it is.. I bought a separate power adaptor for no reason.. (now I have one spare..) 5

[48 kHz] Seriously, obsessed with this thing. I needed to send VGA and HDMI outputs from laptops through a building SDI patch. Was a little nervous this was not going to be pushing enough power to send 720 signal through 300' of Coax cable. The DAC-70 happily surprised me, easy set-up, clear image and plenty of options. I will be purchasing another one tomorrow. 5
