  • This router with up/down/cross conversion provides clean and quiet switching of HDCP encrypted content to its HDMI output, alongside SDI and non-encrypted HDMI sources. It lets you dissolve or cut between HDMI sources such as cameras or disk players, traditional SDI sources, and HDCP encrypted devices for output to an HDMI display or projector. The router’s built-in frame syncs ensure an instantaneous, clean switch, or dissolve between every source without flashing or unexpected black displays, even with completely asynchronous sources. Non-HDCP encrypted HDMI and SDI sources can be routed to SDI destinations independently and simultaneously. HDCP encrypted sources cannot be routed to SDI destinations.

  • The ability to use HDMI and SDI sources alongside one another is perfect for live applications in remote trucks and news vehicles. Devices such as set-top boxes and Blu-ray players can be switched and mixed with SDI devices and HDMI cameras to the HDMI output, seamlessly and instantaneously.

  • This router with UDC conversion and clean, quiet switching allows format conversion to take place while routing signals to destinations. Various formats of HD and SD content can be converted to a common format and routed seamlessly to destinations. Standard definition sources can be upconverted to HD as part of the routing process, as well as cross converting from one HD format to another. You just select the SMPTE standard to output to a particular destination, and all sources routed to that destination will be converted to the format.

  • The web browser interface allows control and setup from virtually anywhere via any browser-enabled device, while front panel controls allow complete configuration and control of the router without the use of a computer. In addition, it can be externally controlled through either a TCP/IP or DB9 connector under automation control.

  • You can use salvo memory registers to execute several routes simultaneously. Eight separate salvo registers can be created and then triggered with any browser-enabled device.

  • With both HDMI and SDI inputs and outputs, this router makes it easy to integrate and switch signals from all types of equipment, regardless of video format. Cameras with HDMI outputs can be used directly alongside SDI sources, and seamlessly routed to either HDMI or SDI outputs. The SFP (Small Format Pluggable) cage can be populated with dual SFPs that have fiber optic or other connectors, allowing you to determine the best connector for your installation. Adding SFPs gives you true flexibility in combining electrical BNC, HDMI, and fiber optic inputs and outputs.

  • This router can be controlled from third-party devices using serial protocols via TCP/IP, RS-232, and SNMP.

  • Up/down/cross converter built-in
  • Router for 3G/HD/SD-SDI and HDMI video
  • Direct take mode
  • Flexible I/O with the option to configure BNCs and SFPs as inputs or outputs
  • Audio level adjustments
  • LCD display with real-time full motion video of your sources
  • Safe driving mode
  • Built-in test signal generators
  • Compact and rugged
  • Genlockable and timeable

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can we use this device to stream over public network ? If yes how

A: The WiMi6220 Wireless 3G-SDI & HDMI H.264 Encoder/Decoder Set from Nimbus is a point-to-point Wi-Fi transmission system. With both units featuring built-in 5 GHz Wi-Fi, no additional network connection is required. The transmitter encodes and sends up to a 1080p60 SDI or HDMI signal as an H.264 encoded signal, and the receiver decodes and outputs it as video.

Q: 2. What is the latency of the conversion?

A: Users have reported a latency between 150-200ms.

Q: 3. Looking at streaming to YouTube with limited bandwidth. I'd like to use H.265 to retain visual quality but that is only available on YouTube livestreams with HLS ingest. I see this device supports HTTP streaming, is that the same as HLS (.m3u8)?

A: HTTP and HLS are, indeed, synonymous.

Q: 4. What field of work would this be used for.

A: Kramer 4K HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 18 Gbps Signal Generator & Analyzer is for analyzing video networks.

Q: 5. Will the encoder work as an NDI source?

A: No, the AVMATRIX H.264/H.265 SDI Streaming Encoder has no NDI encoding built into it whatsoever.

Q: 6. Can I send video from my Dji pocket 2 to this device through RMTP and take the HDMI out to my switcher for live streamiing? Is that even possible with this device?

A: The AVMatrix SE1217 H.265/264 HDMI Streaming Encoder, is intended to take an HDMI input and encode it for streaming. As the DJI Pocket 2 does not feature an HDMI output, it would not be compatible as an input to this encoder.

Q: 7. Can this also be used as a Decoder? The LAN example has an avmatrix decoder pic, do no info.

A: No, the AVMATRIX H.264/H.265 SDI Streaming Encoder is not bi-directional. It can not be used as a decoder.

Q: 8. I cant see the device in my network

A: The AVMATRIX SE1217 H.265/264 HDMI Streaming Encoder is a fairly straightforward IP streaming device that does not require the employment of a computer for connectivity. To troubleshoot a failure in connectivity, please ensure that all components being used have been tested for functionality beyond pairing with the illustrated product.

Q: 9. is there a power supply for the Power Connector 1 x Barrel (12 VDC at 2 A) Input or would I need to purchase one? if so then a link to a power supply would be great

A: The AVMATRIX SE1217 comes with an included AC power supply. In the Box AVMATRIX SE1217 H.265/264 HDMI Streaming Encoder AC Power Supply Limited 3-Year Warranty

Q: 10. Dies this unit have point to point ethernet or does it act as a bridge?

A: So that we may answer your question fully, please email us. Provideo@bhphoto.com

[>40 dB] Bought this and its matching rx. They seem pretty good. You can select different definitions, FHD, HD, SD, and then can assign them to the 3 types, and allocate bit rates for each. Eg you can select HD, send that to SD and a bit rate of 800 and FHD to HD and a bit rate of 2000 etc. It then selects the resolution type, eg 720P. The only limitation I find a bit strange is that the full range of resolutions, are not available all the time. They vary what is available depending on the Hz, 50Hz or 60Hz of the incoming HDMI. I am using 60Hz, and this does not have 1080i, but if I was using 50Hz, then 1080i would be included.
60Hz has 480i, 480P, 720P, 1080P.
50Hz has 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080P, 1080i.
The other strange thing I notice is that if I select a bit rate of 800Kbps, and then monitor the link at the IP level, it seems to be using about 3.5Mbps.
However, for quality and ease of use, these seem to be great devices.

[75 Ohms] Our needs were basic: run a 75' HDMI cable from a 4K TV to a conference table. TV - Kramer Fiber HDMI - Keystone connector in conference table - copper HDMI to laptop. This worked with a 1080p signal, but not 4k.

The repeater solved our problems. We now have the following and it works flawlessly:TV - Kramer Fiber HDMI - Repeater in floor box - 6' copper HDMI - Keystone connector in conference table - copper HDMI to laptop.

The biggest con is the size of the power brick. Surely Kramer could source a smaller 5v power adapter.

[1] Got it for a trade show-- driving 4 50 screens. Easy to set up, runs without the need of a computer once its set. I discovered I needed to run 4K + videos to get the resolution sharp.

[>15 dB] The Osprey is quite versatile and reliable. We have purchased dozens of the G1 & G2 encoders for use throughout numerous facilities in our extensive network. Our primary use is for multicasting, but we also do a number of unicasts and YouTube streams.
Osprey tech support is so helpful and knowledgeable, which is another huge selling point.
We have used numerous other manufacturers products (HaiVision, Evertz, Ensemble Design, and Lynx). All of them work fine but Osprey offered the best quality and reliability for the price.

[12 and 16-bit] I think people who know, know that SDI is a pro connection. I use this flawlessly with my Zacuto Gratical Eye evf. It can also be use in conjunction with the atomos SDI to loop through.
I have both. Love them.
