Designed as a multipurpose, utilitarian mid to long-range optic, the Hawke 3-9x40 Vantage IR Riflescope Rimfire .22boasts a partially-illuminated crosshair reticle with five selectable brightness levels for use in most lighting conditions in either red or green. Red is ideal for low-light conditions, while green is easier to see in bright sunlight. The 40mm objective draws in generous amounts of light versus smaller objectives while maintaining a low profile. Covered turrets help guard against accidental adjustments while a fast-focus collar and knurled rheostat allow you to quickly adapt to rapidly changing situations. Complementing the performance of the scope is a lightweight and durable anodized aluminum housing, with a 1" one-piece maintube that is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be fog and waterproof.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. are these large enough to cut 120mm film negatives in one cut?

A: Yes. The Dahle 40008 Vantage Scissors (8") can cut 120 film in a single cut.

Q: 2. Is blade self-sharpening?

A: There is NO blade. It is just a piece of metal and it cuts paper due to its weight. This is not good for cutting canvas - not even a single sheet simply because there is no blade. Even if you were to put your finger and apply pressure - don't worry, you will not bleed because the edge is not sharp either.

Q: 3. Will any 50mm sunshade work with this scope?

A: no you have to get the threads right for each scope

Q: 4. I like this cutter. Only question, is it self sharpening?

A: This cutter has 7 41/2* B&H customer reviews so other people like it too. However, an extensive search did not find any mention of the blade being self sharpening.

Q: 5. How do you attach it to the eyepiece?

A: The caps just slide directly on the the end. You can have them open up, to the left or to the right.

Q: 6. What is the overall mounted height from top of picatiny rail to highest point on scope

A: My calculation indicate a height of about 2.3 inches (58.42mm)

Q: 7. Is It Airgun Safe ?

A: The Firefield 4-16x42 AO Tactical IR Riflescope is airgun safe.

Q: 8. Will the new Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (EF Mount) With this head?

A: The Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (EF Mount) B&H # CAE70200EF is not listed by Vinton as compatible. However the very similar Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 COMPACT-SERVO Cinema Zoom Lens (EF Mount) B&H # CAE1880EF is. It is therefore our opinion that the 70-200mm will work. See here for the Vinten compatibility chart. a href= http://www.vinten.com/vantage/downloads/Vantage-Compatibility-Chart-New.pdf target= _blank http://www.vinten.com/vantage/downloads/Vantage-Compatibility-Chart-New.pdf/a

Q: 9. Can this scope hold zero on a gamo G magnum 1250 springer air rifle ?

A: I can't speak from experience as I have never had the opportunity to try both items together. But I do believe the scope should have no problem holding zero. That's what is was made for.

Q: 10. What is the maximum recoil this scope can handle, such as caliber?

A: I have it on my 91 30 mosin nagant and it's great

[1x CR2032] I've got this on my .270win-rifle which i use for most game and it's fantastic in all situations. The fiberoptics keeps the dot just right at all levels of natural light and the tritium is perfect at night, and it's not bright enough to mess upp your nightvision. The lenses are good enough for night hunting, I've taken down several boar at up to 40yds with only starlight (and yes, it's legal where I live). It's also reliable, It's been through some pretty rough use and over 100 shots with the .270win and never lost it's zero.

[40 mm] I put this scope on my Henry 22lr lever action scope and shoots perfectly. Has Green and Red Illumination for when you are shooting in low light conditions. highly recommend this for a 22lr rifle of any kind. Hawke makes some of the best scopes i have ever used, I won 9 Hawke scopes.

[3 to 9x] I bought this scope to be used on a Savage 10 .308 hunting rifle. Let me say, the clarity on this scope is impressive. I've tried various Nikon, Bushnell, Redfield, and Zeiss scopes but this beats them all. The glass clarity is better than the Zeiss HD5 and it feels more sturdy. The illuminated reticle is helpful when shooting against a dark target such as a black paper target or animal. B & H has the best price hands down. I scoured the Internet and went to two gun shows and could not find a better price. Get this scope and you will not be disappointed.

[Aluminum] Its a great cheap scope to get for any air rifle, its less than a rear sight and better and the adjustments for elevation and wind are precise making this a great target scope.

[1"] Light weight with super bright and clear optics. Illuminated triangle on post reticle very easy to use. Being able to keep both eyes open a big plus, increasing comfort, not to mention awareness of surroundings. Fiber optics work great, triangle well lit in a wide range of lighting conditions.

[1"] I have two amber triangles that I'm very fond of wanted to try the green. It's probably better than amber in my opinion very bright and clear. Bh photo had the absolute best price, smoking deal.

[3 to 9x] Clear sight. (.22 subsonic) on my 'sniper' .22. The drop reticle is spot on (tested to 150 yards. I have to remember that I must be in maximum focus for the reticle to be accurate but that is a mental training thing on my part. I can't believe that I can hit tiny targets at that distance with a bullet that drops like a lead balloon. It made me buy one for the high velocity .22LR (for a Tactical Solutions) and I'll be buying another for my .17HMR Volquartsen. Crazy-pleased. I love the side focus for range finding and helps my poor eyesight get focus. Sold on these things!
