Designed for mid to long-range use, the Hawke Sport Optics 4-12x40 Vantage AO IR Riflescopeboasts a partially-illuminated crosshair reticle with five selectable brightness levels for use in most lighting conditions in either red or green. Red is ideal for low-light conditions, while green is easier to see in brighter ambient light or when using NVDs in extreme low-light or complete dark. The 40mm objective draws in copious amounts of light versus smaller objectives while maintaining a low profile. Covered turrets help guard against accidental adjustments while a fast-focus collar and knurled rheostat allow you to quickly adapt to rapidly changing situations. Complementing the performance of the scope is a lightweight and durable anodized aluminum housing, with a 1" one-piece maintube that is nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be water and fogproof.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do these binoculars have a field flattener ?

A: They do not have a field flattener. However, These binoculars feature anti-reflection fully multicoated extra-low-dispersion (ED) apochromatic lenses with phase-correcting and dielectric coatings on BAK4 roof prisms. When these optical components are combined you will be presented with bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate colors and enhanced clarity without distortion or fringing—even at the extreme edges. Q: 2. I am a glass wearer. The eye relief for 10x42 is 13mm. Will it be a problem? I will mostly use it for birdwatching. Or should i go with 8x42 one?

A: For monocular or binocular the lowest eye relief I recommend for people that wear glasses is 14mm or greater.

Q: 3. How much of a turn does the focusing knob allow? A full turn?

A: Sorry but the Hawke Sport Optics 8x42 Nature-Trek Monocular (Green) BH #HA8X42NTMG • MFR #35220 are not on display at the B&H store. They are located at the B&H warehouse in a different state. I am unable to test the focusing knob.

Q: 4. Is this a grey market item?

A: The Hawke Sport Optics 10x42 Frontier ED X Binoculars have a Hawke Optics US lifetime warranty. The color is gray.

Q: 5. What tripod can I order with this product? Will the Magnus PV-3330G Photo/Video Tripod with Geared Center Column with Smartphone Adapter and GoPro Mount work? Thank you

A: The Hawke Sport Optics 8x42 Endurance ED Monocular BH #HA8X42EEDMG • MFR #36320 does have a standard 1/4"-20 screw hole to mount onto a tripod.. The Magnus PV-3330G Photo/Video Tripod with Geared Center Column with Smartphone Adapter and GoPro Mount BH #MAPV3330G • MFR #PV-3330G will be an excellent choice to combo it with.

Q: 6. Does it work well with glasses? I wear glasses

A: Yes, this binocular is compatible for eyeglass wearers. Twist-up click-stop rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear.

Q: 7. Are these tripod adaptable ?

A: Yes, but only with a "cradle" type tripod mounting devise. Example: Snapzoom Universal Binocular Tripod Mount BH #SNSZM • MFR #SZ-M https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1428856-REG/snapzoom_sz_m_universal_binocular_tripod_mount.html

Q: 8. Is It Airgun Safe ?

A: The Firefield 4-16x42 AO Tactical IR Riflescope is airgun safe.

Q: 9. It's not clear whether the shoulder harness comes with the monocular. Some reviews mention it does, but it's not listed under "In the Box".

A: Hawke's website indicates that it only comes with a lanyard. https://us.hawkeoptics.com/endurance-ed-10x42-monocular.html

Q: 10. Why is the green more expensive?

A: That is the way Hawke is pricing that specific model. Possibly green harder to produce.

[1x CR2032] If you are in the market for a small binocular with top-of-the-line performance this, is it.

I have several old binoculars a Meade 7 x 50 porro, a Tasco 10 x 25 and Bushnell 10 X 25 and which like me were getting are old.

A friend recently became interested in bird watching and I did the research.  As I live in the Houston area and at the edges of both the Central and Mississippi migratory bird flyways in the U.S. and live on a large tract of land, I have the opportunity to see a lot of different birds.

As my old Meade was becoming harder to focus, I looked at the current market of ED binoculars and saw the Celestron NatureDX 8 X 42 model.  Like many reviews it is fantastic binocular.  I also decided to replace my small truck binoculars with something better than the Tasco 10 X 25 or the Bushnell and found the Hawk Vantage 8 X 32 model and I ordered it.  I also gave some thought to the Hawke Endurance ED model and almost sent an email to B & H to change out my order but I didn’t.

Upon arriving I did a comparison of the Celestron NatureDX against the Hawke Vantage.  I cannot see the difference between the two.  I can clearly see the difference between the Vantage the Tasco and the Bushnell. So, I drove out to the coast to look at the coastal shore birds.  The Vantage is a very good binocular.  It is lite, well built, easy to focus, very good light and for an eye glasses wearing person like me it has great eye relief.  I don’t see how the Vantage Endurance could be much better.

The Vantage is great binocular.

[15.9 x 3.9 x 3"] This 4 power Hawke is a real “sleeper!”
I just put a 22 Magnum Barrel on my CZ455, since I don’t have anything in that caliber
I didn’t want to put much money in a scope as this was going to be a “beater” that I carried in the Swamp while on a boat.
A 4x with AO is unusual in that you usually get that on a variable power. I didn’t want too many functions, just a simple scope, but I would probably be shooting squirrels, rabbits, alligators, snakes, turtles: at ranges of 10 feet to a maximum of 100 yards.
And an Adjustable Onjective on a fixed power would be perfect.
I found it a balanced look, attached to the 3/8 dovetail on the CZ455. Not too big.
I was amazed at the clarity and light gathering of this $70 scope. And the AO was the icing on the cake. Easy to rotate and so I left it set at about 27 yards(most of my shots)
It was perfect! I was getting 3/4 inch groups with the CCI Gamepoint 40 grain. Leaning against a tree for a rest. WOW!
So I just ordered another one for my newly arrived Ruger RAR 22 Magnum in the black synthetic stock —a real “plain Jane” better suited for “in the boat” duty. (My CZ was bumped up to be my squirrel gun!
One of my Best Buys!!
Try one and you’ll see!
Mitch

[4 to 12x] I put this scope on my Henry 22lr lever action scope and shoots perfectly. Has Green and Red Illumination for when you are shooting in low light conditions. highly recommend this for a 22lr rifle of any kind. Hawke makes some of the best scopes i have ever used, I won 9 Hawke scopes.

[4 to 12x] The eye relief is somewhat close for comfort, I would have preferred a 1/8 MOA per click at 100 yards. Overall, the riflescope appears robust. I would expect high praises if it survives the 7MM Magnum.

[4 to 12x] My original scope was bundled with my rifle. It would not hold zero from day to day. This Hawke has been zeroed in once and it hasn't changed one iota! It makes shooting much more fun when you can actually hit what you're aiming at. I went with the 32 mm objective lens because I could use my existing rings. It fit perfectly and took all of 10 minutes to mount to the rifle. You can't go wrong with this IF it fits your application.

[40 mm] Very high quality. Easy to adjust and has more adjustments than expected. Maintains zero.
