[41 mm] B&H shipped amazingly fast, and packaged it well. I spent about 10 minutes setting it up, and it feels great, and set up easily. Love the short scale. I bought this for my daughter, and I'm certain I'll buy one for myself when more are stocked.

[Left-Handed] I wanted a inexpensive bass a that was versatile, sounded great and had a sharp look. So I looked around at basses in the same price range and could not find one that had better reviews or had more to offer than this bass. I knew Ibanez makes excellent guitars all around, even the cheaper ones. I bought it without putting my hands on it and hoped for the best. I am very glad I did. It looks great right out of the box and had a really solid feel. Nothing about it looks or feels cheap. I was impressed. It has an excellent feel and plays great. Anyone who has played a lot of guitars will tell you this is the most important thing. It's gotta be fun to play and this bass is. My fingers move without effort over the frets and my palm moves smoothly up and down the neck. Great action and a tight response from the strings by finger or pick. Plus it stays in tune longer than any bass I've ever owned. The sound is very versatile. I can take it from very clean jazz style to heavy, dirty rock stuff with just my playing style. When I really exploit the active pick-ups it really expands the sound pallet. I really can get any tone for any style I want very easily. I think anyone who wants a excellent bass for a cheap price should look no further.

[Single-Cutaway] At the time I purchased this bass it was on sale at the price of $199 for the Champagne Gold finish. Although I was not familiar with this specific model line of Ibanez basses, for the price it seemed worth a try. I had played other more expensive Ibanez basses and found them to be made with quality woods and parts. They played well too. When it arrived I was amazed at the quality of this bass. I had thought I might be getting less for the lower price. Even if it had been purchased at the full MSRP of the instrument, I would not have felt slighted. The build quality is excellent. After setting it up with a new set of DR strings it plays extremely well. The tuners and hardware are high quality. The tones I have been able to get out of it with the onboard active electronics alone is pretty staggering for a single instrument - without using any outboard effects. It seems like a bought 7 basses for the price of one. I've been playing it through a DI interface and Apple's Mainstage software for effects and the possibilities seem endless. Truly a surprise for such an inexpensive instrument. Well worth a try. Great for experienced players or beginners.

[Bolt-On Neck] I've been familiar with Ibanez instruments for decades, and owned one in my college days. After an accident recovery and 20 years of not being able to play bass, I recently decided to take up playing again. I anticipated a low budget instrument, with all the normal flaws associated - but this surprised me. The body is lovely, and although not exceptionally weighty, it's heavy enough to give great tone and sustain. Frets are nicely inlaid, and free from chatter. In fact, aside from a very slight intonation adjustment on the G string, this instrument plays as well as some much more expensive bodies. The active bass boost is a bit of a gimmick, but tone is quite diverse and dynamic. Tone tends toward being very bright, but it easy to attenuate. All together satisfied.

[Jatoba] I'm a guitarist that needed a cheap bass to lay down some tracks. Since I got this thing I've been obsessed with playing bass! It has a great feel and was quite playable right out of the box. It's capable of a surprisingly wide array of tones, which is nice as I use it for a many different styles of music. The stacked knobs took me a minute to figure out but once I did it makes perfect sense. Easy to get the sound I'm looking for quickly. Overall thrilled with this purchase. If my enthusiasm for bass continues I'm sure I'll invest in a pro level instrument, but for now this is perfect. Kinda shocked how much bass you can get for so little $$$.

[9.4"] I have to say that this is a sweet little guitar. It plays way above its price class and comes beautifully set up. I have more expensive Gibson and Fender guitars and this plays just as nice as they do. It doesn't have the premium feel of those guitars but it still feels right in a very basic way. It's light, handy and has a fast neck. This would be a great choice for a beginner, a guitar that is setup properly from the start. I've been playing for more than 50 years and find this little gem to be an awesome guitar that just happens to be cheap. Great instrument to mod but you can play it right out of the box.
