A: I have the same set up and this cable works nicely. Both the MBP and the Dell wake up fine from sleep mode. The only time it acts funny is if I plug in the cable with the MBP's lid down and then open it and try to wake it. To correct that I unplug it, wake the MBP, and plug it back in. I've had no need to reboot the Dell with this cable.

[0.1 lb] In my previous review of my new Apple Mac Studio M2 Max I mentioned I purchased it to replace my old Mac mini. What I didn't know is that my great Apple 27 LED Cinema Display wasn't compatible with the new Mac Studio video output.
