Audix Kick And Toms Miking Kit For Drum Recording

$1,439.85 $2,274.96

The Audix Kick and Toms Miking Kit for Drum Recordingis well suited for use in stage, studio, and broadcast applications, and features the frequency and sensitivity response required for accurately reproducing signals from drums and percussion instruments. The mic has a dynamic element capable of reproducing signals with high transient peaks, while maintaining a clear, punchy, and warm sound.

The D2 offers a frequency response of 68 Hz to 18 kHz which features a slight bump in the mid-bass frequencies. The contoured mid-bass response accentuates the tonal frequencies associated with instruments that have a percussive nature, such as rack toms, congas, floor toms, saxophone, brass, horns, as well as guitar and bass cabinets. The hypercardioid polar pattern provides a tight pickup area at the front of the capsule for isolation and feedback control, and it is equipped with a VLM (Very Low Mass) diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction. Ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the microphone are greatly reduced, resulting in high signal-to-noise ratio.

The D2 features a frequency response of 68 Hz to 18 kHz. A mid-bass bump accentuates the tonal response of floor toms, congas, and more

The D2 can accurately handle signals with sound pressure levels registering at 144 dB. Transient peaks are reproduced without distortion due to overload

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this comparable with the Audix HT2 -Condenser Headworn Microphone?

A: This kit comes with the Audix HT2 condenser headworn microphone.

Q: 2. Does this work with Sennheiser ME-2 Microphone Mic Lavalier?

A: No. It seems to only be compatible with Audix mikes. I bought one to use with a Shure Beta 54 mic, but it doesn't work - even though they both have the mini-XLR connector, the Shure has one more pin than the Audix. The Sennheiser ME-2 has a 1/8 connector, so it wouldn't work with the Audix adapter at all.

Q: 3. Can this hold the Blue Snowball iCE?

A: Yes I believe it can, the foot is very directional, so it depends on that. It only ways just under 2 pounds

Q: 4. Which clamp sizes are in the kit exactly?

A: The Bright Tangerine Misfit Kick 360 MK II 3-Stage Swing-Away Kit is not a "clamp-on," style matte box, so it does not come with any Clamping accessories whatsoever.

Q: 5. Does this work with the TD-30 Brain?

A: Yes, the Roland KD-10 Kick Pad can be used with the Roland TD-30.

Q: 6. Hi! Will this pedal work on an octapad like Roland SPD-30? Could you send it to Miami, FL? How long would it take? Thanks!

A: You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.

Q: 7. Is the boom arm removable?

A: Yes, the boom arm can be unscrewed from the top of the stand.

Q: 8. Will this stand be able to hold a Rode Procaster and shock mount solidly?

A: This stand could work as it is rigid, but it will become tippy if you extend the arm out too much with a heavier load.

Q: 9. will this power up an MKH 60 ?that needs phantom power, and then connect the output to a wireless plugon that does not supply phantom

A: No, the Audix APS910 will not work with the MKH 60 because it converts 48V phantom power to plug-in power of less than 9V for lavalier and headset mics. As a better option, use the Sennheiser K6 Microphone System Powering Module (B&H # SEK6Q) which uses a AA battery to supply phantom power and has standard XLR connectors on both sides.

Q: 10. Which frame-safe clamp adapters sizes are included in the kit?

A: The Bright Tangerine Misfit Kick 360 MK II 3-Stage Swing-Away Kit does not include the optional Frame Safe Clamp Adapters.

[Hypercardioid] Very pleased with this mic kit. Especially the sound of the overhead mics. The kick mic is exceptional too!

[Mono] When I first got my grand piano I used a soundboard pickup which was OK for performing but not so great for recording. Tinny comes to mind. Then I spent years experimenting with overhead microphones and finally settled on a pair of Neuman KM183s in XY configuration. Nice but not easy. Every time I wanted to record it took me 1/2 day to find the sweet spot and then I could only record with the lid open, thereby restricting my ability to sing at the same time (bleeding sounds). So, after some hesitation I ordered the SCX-25A Audix system. I was worried that being placed so close to the strings there might be issues with hammer sounds and balanced sound spectrum. After an hour of trying various positions I on the piano I discovered they sounded great no matter where I put them. They sound as good or better than my KM183s. Once you are satisfied you just leave them in the piano. I cover them after using them to prevent dust pollution. Now I can close the piano lid and recording singing and playing simultaneously without sound bleeding. I record at home so I can only speak about non-studio usage but I am completely satisfied. Highly recommended.

[End Address] great as a pair, wether close or far. balanced natural sound, but with a nice smoothness and warmth. the mid size capsule makes it a great buy if you don't have a lot of different mics for vocals to drum overheads to piano to percussion. the clips are well designed too!

[End Address] This kit is perfect, and for an excellent price. The mics sound fantastic and offer some flexibility not found in the usual suspects when it comes to drum mics. For example, the kick mic having two phase aligned capsules and being able to record each simultaneously and then mix them to taste. is wonderful in practice It also offers a few different sound flavor settings depending on how you are using it. The overheads are small and light, and also offer a couple of options. I've used an SM57 on snare for decades so I'm very familiar with it, but I really like the similar sound of the snare mic. The build quality is extremely good, and it comes in an awesome heavy duty case to keep everything tidy and safe and sound when not in use. I really couldn't be much happier with this kit in relation to my old setup ((C314s, Beta 52, SM57, e604s) and the only thing I can think of that I don't like is that the clip holders for toms/snare are a bit tough to get on relative to the e604 holders. I highly recommended the Lewitt Beatkit Pro.

[Hypercardioid] Sturdy as advertised, low profile, quick and easy to mount, move and take off. Mine came with a heavy plastic mic clip unlike the thinner kind (which can break easy) as pictured. The only problem with these clips is once you have everything in place and wired it is difficult to adjust the height of the mic. It's easiest to un-patch the XLR then readjust the height. Otherwise, a really great mount for your D series mics.

[Hypercardioid] Well, it doesn't look that great in the pictures, does it ? Indeed, I doubt it would have occurred to me to BUY one, until TWO of them arrived over a year ago as part of my superb Audix SCX25A matched pair piano miking kit. From that moment on, I found myself constantly reaching for them (rather than my vast inventory of other clamps) whenever the need arose to mount all sorts of things in all sorts of less conventional places. That they're fabulous for mics is a given, but these clamps are ALSO unmatched, in my long experience, for the secure clamping of more exotic things, such as mini cams and wireless mic antennae. Perhaps the best testimony I can give in terms of just HOW useful they've been (and what good value for money they represent) is me telling you that I now own a total of six.
