Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this ring fit the focus ring on a canon 100-400 L IS ii? I realize the outer focus ring diameter is 94mm… but after measuring with the Cool Lux Gear sizing key (paper print out), the inner diameter of the focus ring falls in the 90 to 91.9mm zone. Would it possibiy work?

A: We do not recommend using this ring as it may be too small for the lens.

Q: 2. does it work on panasonic leica 10-25mm F1.7 lens?

A: It does not. That lens has an 87.6mm diameter. Instead you will need BH #COLG8687 which works with an outer diameter between 86 to 87.9mm. https://bhpho.to/3d01Rzi

Q: 3. Will this work on a Leica R 35mm f2?

A: Check your focus ring diameter. If it's between 60-61,9mm this ring will work. On the Lux gear site there are helpful charts and indications. Good luck

A: The 72 to 73.9mm Cool-Lux LuxGear Follow Focus Gear Ring features standard 0.8-mod/32-pitch geared teeth that makes it compatible with the Tilta Nucleus-M motor.

A: The Cool-Lux LuxGear gear rings are designed to be compatible with all standard follow focus motors.

Q: 7. Will this fit the Tokina 11-16 atx-i 11-16 f2.8 CF lens for Canon EF?

A: It will not. The Tokina atx-i 11-16mm f/2.8 CF Lens for Canon EF, BH #TO111628CFC, has an 84 diameter. Instead you need BH #COLG8485 which is the Cool-Lux LuxGear Follow Focus Gear Ring (84 to 85.9mm). https://bhpho.to/2VQAdgx

Q: 8. Does it work for a Sigma 16mm F1.4 m4/3 lens?

A: Yes it will, the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Lens for Micro Four Thirds has a 72.2mm outside diameter.

Q: 9. Will this fit a Sigma 24-105 ?

A: It will not. The Sigma 24-105mm, BH #SI241054C, has an 88.6mm front diameter. It is too large for this gear ring. Instead you will need BH #COLG8889 which is for lenses between 88 to 89.9mm. https://bhpho.to/3bnrtEK

[82 to 83.9 mm] I was worried the rubber would have too much give and cause lag or bounce, but it works just fine. My only complaint is the price, seems a little pricy for a piece of rubber.

[0.165 lb] Zeiss lens gear is better but this is best of inexpensive resolution.

[0.8 MOD] I purchased a set of these for my prime and zoom lenses. They are easy to slip on and stay in place. There is no connection point that will cause issues like many other rings.

[0.8 MOD] I use Cool-Lux follow focus gear ring for all my Milvus, Otus and Loxia lenses...not for video but for manual focusing. Easier to grip and lock focus. Considering their relatively modest costs, I would have to rate them as my most useful accessory. The only exception to this is my classic Zeiss 135mm f2 with the beautifully grooved focus ring...

[82 to 83.9 mm] I bought for the Olympus 12-100/4 which is one of the best lens for m4/3 IMHO, and it's fits perfect. I recommend it.
it fit both focus ring and zoom ring.

[0.8 MOD] If you use a caliper to measure your focus ring, these gears fit perfectly and they are rock solid. They do not loosen or waiver. I have purchased a bunch of them and they serve me well. I use them on Edelkrone focus modules and crane 3 focus/zoom units and I am very satisfied.

[0.165 lb] This lens gear works perfectly with my follow focus and my Lumix 12-35mm that came with my GH4. It's made of a rubbery material that stretches a small amount in order to fit lenses. I recommend this product, albeit a little costly.

[82 to 83.9 mm] I'm using this on a Sony GM 2.8 24-70mm. After downloading their PDF template from their website to measure, I ordered it and it's a perfect fit. Works just as nice as a permanent geared cinema lens and much better than an adapter that has stops. Unfortunately it's useless on the Sony lens since the focus is fly by wire and isn't consistent at all. So next I'm going to try it on a Canon lens that happens to have the same size focus ring.

[0.165 lb] 82-83.9mm fits snug and a little more for a sold fit on my run and gun 24-105mm Canon zoom (focus gear only). Worried about it expanding in 3 digit temperatures but never did. No longer use locking gears that would loosen and slip over time. Worth the price!!!
