[0.8x] this Ricoh wide conversion lens is sharp.... corner to corner.

[0.865 lb] I use this on my Sony FDR-AX100. I was looking at other wide conversion lenses that were much cheaper. But the distortion and vignetting was always a problem. This lens has minimal distortion and I can zoom through without any vignette. Some of the cheaper ones you can't even zoom through much or at all. As they say you get what you pay for when it comes to good glass. It also doesn't take up much room in my camera bag and it's not that heavy. Build quality was great and I like that it came with the correct adapter for my camera. Highly recommended.

[82 mm] This lens has to be good. It doubles the weight (and then some) or your camera. Makes it really tough to fit in your pocket unless you wear Genie pants, and the adapter is ho hum. So the pictures need to be good really good. They are really good. The focus, metering, and functionality of the camera are still perfect with this lens. I couldn't help popping it on immediately and grabbing a picture down by the tracks. Everything was perfect. The perspective provided by the lens opens up another layer of creativity for the user. This is definitely a worthwhile addition to your GR III. If I have a complaint about anything, its the adapter (Model GA-1). The adapter, not this lens, doesn't live up to the quality build of the GR III or this GW-4 conversion lens. The adapter is a required component if you want to actually be able to attach the GW-4 to your GR III.

[82 mm] Several improvements over the previous version, better lens cap, GRiii automatically knows it has the conversion lens attached for EXIF data, its a sharp lens conversion lens at weighs more than the camera unit itself, a non issue for myself. The rubber lens hood is adequate, attach it from the rear of the lens barrel to minimize stretching into the grooves, awkward to attach lens cap with lens hood in place. There is the option now to place a 72mm filter on the unit- I have no plans for using a UV filter. The Ricoh GR for me is not complete without the conversion lens, carries on the long 21mm tradition Ricoh is known for.

[82 mm] Needed a wide angle attachment lens for an Elmo SD ceiling PTZ camera to widen the field of view, couldn't move the camera - no room. This conversion lens made in Japan, for $ bucks was great, focus was good throughout the zoom range, low distortion, and no vignetting. It's a clip-on unit, but don't forget to turn it 1/4 turn clockwise to really secure it.(Additional note: The carrying case looked very used, but the lens was A-OK. Can't complain for a $ lens.)

[82 mm] This has given us a whole new look while recording our Basketball games. We get a more precise picture and more court coverage. Would highly recommend this lens.

[0.8x] Excellent build quality. Worried about buying a product from a company I hadn't heard of before - should not have been. This is one beautiful hunk of glass, and the fit and finish is excellent (jewel-like comes to mind) on the one I got.

Bought this to use on the Sony Z90v which has a native wide angle of about 30mm - which is not really that wide in this day and age. The .8 conversion get it to about 24mm which is quite a bit more useful in the kind of shooting we plan to do with the camera.

To be sure, there is optical bowing on the sides of the frame, but this is not a dealbreaker for the run/gun shooting this camera will be used for. �We are not doing architectural studies, or technical cinematography. The increased width of the shot gives shooting flexibility way beyond the native lens, and lets us capture subjects within their environments in ways we could not do with out it.

In my early quick tests, I can't see much if any degradation in sharpness, and the zoom through holds sharpness from one end of the zoom range to the other.

Very pleased with this purchase. �After shooting with it for a couple of hours, I consider it an essential part of our Z90V kit.

[82 mm] Everything I hope they would be and more. fits nicely on the 28mm.

[0.865 lb] Got this for $1.79 to try out instead of buying a fisheye lens. Has a cheap plastic feel but I've had no issues at all so far. Has worked well!
