[5/8"] I recently bought an AEA R44 which is a HEAVY mic. Online forums recommended stands by Latch Lake. Well worth the price. i did some tests of the stand prior to use and it's solid as a rock! And the folks at B and H were of course solid professionals as always! 5

[0.15 lb] I have owned stands from K&M and Triad Orbit. K&M best stand did not last long and while in use wiggled too much. Triad tries to do many things and as a result, is not great at anything and to boot is frustrating to use. Latch Lake is much more stable and easier to use, as it is specifically built as a Microphone stand. It is just a joy to work with and I get more stable and much better recordings with it. 5

[5/8"] We do a lot of interviews for our documentaries and this mic stand is just the ticket. Strong, sturdy and sensibly designed, it gives me a lot of confidence when we set up that at least we don't have to worry about it. Once you handle it and set it up, you'll know why it cost a little more. My son is always telling me to buy nice or buy twice. I'm sure this stand will be around for a few generations. It's well worth the investment. 5

[5/8"] This mic stand is heavy but it feels like it will last forever! We bought a couple earlier this year and just added a few more to the studio because of how reliable and sturdy they are. They seem to be able to hold just about any sort of mic or piece of equipment we've tried putting on it with no question it would remain stable and strong. Highly recommend, especially for permanent setups! 5

[0.15 lb] Tired of wimpy little jam nuts that barely hold the mic in position and are so tiny you can barely grasp them, or ones so cheaply stamped out of sheet metal they leave burrs in your fingers? This is the answer. Big enough to really do the job, and make the job easier to do. Not so big they get in the way. 5
