Comprised of seven elements in five groups, and incorporating a single aspherical element, this lens eliminates nearly all distortions and spherical aberrations throughout the focusing range. A: Though a filter will fit on the lens with the hood attached, the Leica hoods are designed specifically for each lens to have the auto stop in the proper position and orientation for shooting. So though a filter and the hood would technically mount and fit on the lens, the hood may not stop in the right position.

A: The both of lenses have a filter thread diameter of 46 mm. I can't get some information about the female lens hood diameter. But, you could think that have been the filter female diameter the same, maybe the male hood diameter could be the same.

[11] I liked my new Leica M 10 R and 50 mm Leica lens so much that I immediately bought this 35 mm lens as well. The lenses pair perfectly with the fabulous M10R. The f-stop and focus rings are smooth as silk. The images are terrific. I would do this again. B&H photo is the best. Great customer service and knowledgeable professional personnel. 5

[f/16] Just traded in my wonderful fixed-lens Leica Q2 Monochrom for a rangefinder, which I’ve wanted since my college years. I love the compact form factor and easy handling of the 35mm Cron, and I’ve been delighted with my initial photos. I’ll be traveling abroad in a few weeks’ time, and I can’t wait to capture my experiences. 5

[Manual Focus] I have not taken this lens off for over a month now and it is my go to lens. I have the Summilux-M 1:1.4/50mm ASPH which is a great lens too, but the 35mm seems to fit every occasion. It is compact in size and the construction with the metal hood and the smooth focus ring makes for a great lens. Low light is not a problem and I can shoot wide open in bright light without exceeding the 4,000 per second max.speed under most situations. I was lucky in being able to get this lens at B&H as there was a waiting list. When they become available one should get this lens. B&H is the only place I shop for camera gear and their service has always been great. 5

[35mm] It isn't that the Leica 35 is engineered in house. It isn't that the Leica 35 is handmade and QC tested at critical points in the process. The Leica 35 feels like it is built like a tank. It also feels very precise in the focusing and framing of a shot. But what is so special and unique about the Leica 35 is the quality and expression of the image that makes it worth every penny of it's cost. The Leica 35mm f/2 ASPH is an incredible lens. ACM 5

[1:17.4] I directly compared this lens to the most recent 35mm f2.4 Summarit lens. The comparison was made using an M246 Monochrom body. The Summarit is an incredible lens and is less expensive. However, its rendering is different--a bit more clinical in my opinion. The Summicron is an equally incredible lens but has, what I consider, a more classical rendering, which I ultimately preferred. IMO, you will not be disappointed with either lens taking black and white images. 5
