A: Metal infused PLA filaments are tougher to print than Standard PLA filament, but because of the metal blended with the plastic, prints are heavier and thus, feel more authentic. Finished 3D prints can be sanded and polished to create beautiful and unique pieces. Unpolished, the filament looks like cast metal fresh from a mold, with a dull, matte, gritty appearance. A: The Afinia Einstar Handheld 3D Scanner is meant to scan objects, it cannot be used to scan a house.

Q: 10. Can this machine cut 3mm thick cast acrylic (plexiglass)?

A: The Emblaser 2 can cut 3mm cast acrylic, however it needs to be an opaque color and cannot be blue as it interferes with the wavelength of the laser. Translucent-tinted acrylic can be engraved, but not cut. Clear acrylic cannot be cut and needs treatment like talc powder to be engraved.

[White] This filament definitely works at the higher speeds however there are some drawbacks to those higher speeds, including error rate and adjustments. I've gone through a couple rolls now, just trying to get the settings right but it does absolutely work well and fast, as it says, using all the stock settings, very impressive. 5

[8.8 x 8.5 x 2"] I use the PLA to create buildings and other assorted scenery items for my model railroad. I like the way that the daVinci mini automatically senses the color of the PLA & adjusts the extruder's temperature accordingly. The best price for XYZ PLA is thru B&H. 5

[Afinia H-Series] This PLA filament is well made and highly versatile. I use it in my Dremel DigiLab 3D45 printer to print copies of ancient artifacts, such as Egyptian, Greek and Roman statues and busts, bas reliefs, steles, and even Babylonian cuneiform tablets. Important qualities of this filament include: consistent thickness, strength, and RFID recognition of the filament type to assure the right extruder and baseplate temperatures for printing. I prefer white filament over translucent, black and other color filaments, as it is easy to the resulting product for sanding and painting. The price point for the PLA filament is good and it is vacuum packed with desiccant for increased storage life. 5
