Ideal for hunters who need to move fast or stalk silently through the brush, the Vanguard 2-8x32 Endeavor RS IV Riflescope Illuminated Duplexhas a low magnification that offers a wide field of view and simple reticle layout for fast target acquisition on its low power, while providing a 1:4 zoom that allows you to clearly see and accurately hit targets at longer ranges.

Its partially illuminated reticle is designed for simplicity with an uncomplicated and uncluttered view and perfectly complements the scope's versatility. Selectable intensity levels has dim settings that won't affect vision that has been adjusted to low light all the way up to a bright setting that makes the center aiming dot clearly and distinctly visible in full daylight. Capped zero-reset windage and elevation turrets adjust as much as 80 MOA at 1/4 MOA per click increments to improve your first-shot accuracy.

Optically, Vanguard employs a 32mm objective lens that offers extended low-light performance without adding excessive bulk and weight to your weapon, so you can move easily through brush without spooking your prey. The scope utilizes Hoya extra-low dispersion glass that corrects aberrations, so views are clear and undistorted with accurate color as well as improved contrast, clarity, and anti-reflection MultiGuard lens coatings further improve light transmission. The large 30" maintube maximizes light throughput and is made of a light and durable aluminum alloy treated with an anodized finish for abrasion resistance and longevity. To withstand the harsh elements of the trail, the housing is nitrogen-filled, and O-ring sealed to make it waterproof, submersible, and resistant to internal fogging. Vanguard includes front and rear flip-up lens caps, so you can react quickly when opportunities present themselves, and for maximum protection you also get a neoprene scope cover.

[Aluminum] I selected the Vanguard because of its superior design for eyeglass wearers, and that was a good decision. But I am really impressed with the quality of the image that it provides.
They seem to be great value for the money, well made, and as mentioned, a strong performer.
Thanks to B&H for pointing me to the Endeavor product line.

[Aluminum] These binoculars have excellent optics. The view is bright and clear, very sharp (in the middle) with nice contrast and colors. They are much better than my non-ED Nikons. I feel it's definitely worth paying a premium for ED glass. No mechanical issues either - the focus wheel operated smoothly, the hinge is solid, and open bridge design makes it easy to hold with one or two hands

[30 mm] Although I've only been using these binoculars for a short time for nature and astronomy, my initial impression is very favorable and they've exhibited no significant vices. It has a very solid comfortable and attractive housing. The focusing mechanism is smooth, quick, free of backlash and has just the right amount of resistance. The optics are first-rate in every respect: they're sharp edge-to-edge with neutral but slightly warm color rendition; there's no barreling effect while panning or noticeable coma (using stars as targets), chromatic aberration, vignetting or flare. Contrast, image brightness and color rendition are all outstanding. The convenient center-locking diopter correction is easy to use and the close focus distance and field of view are very good. While the case is nice it's a tight fit for the binoculars, which make access a little slow. At this point I can't make any determination of the binocular's long-term durability but have no reason to question the quality. I have other much more expensive binoculars (Leica and Zeiss) but the Endeavor IVs will compete with them convincingly.

[32 mm] So Is the Vanguard Endeavor ED II 8x32 Better?
No. the original Vanguard ED 8x32 is better.
Why?
Because 1) except when the EDII's yellowish coatings are cutting haze at long distances or occasional flare, it is sharper and more detailed, 2) it has more neutral color rentions, and 3), and most importantly, it has the relaxed viewing quality of the best Swarovski's, with uniform sharpness throughout its sweet spot or field of view, free from the sensed tensions from a conflicted optical formula, but it is also sharper and more detailed than the Swarovski's across its field of view, and more like the Zeisses in the latter regard.
I still recommend the original ED. And for $250, it is a ridiculously cheap purchase. You won't want to stop looking through them unless you live on a prairie where there is simply nothing to see.

[30 mm] The binoculars are very bright and great for viewing birds at moderate distances. The view also is wider allowing for taking in beautiful landscapes at a distance. Went with the 8x32 to cut down on weight and size (and like the wider view). They are very solid and well made. Do like the attached lens/eye socket caps that are designed to stay with the binoculars when removed. The binocular case is very snug and does force you to wrap your strap around binoculars one way in order to fit in the case. This is good as it prevents you from wrapping between the lenses which may stress the movable portions of the binoculars. Very pleased with binoculars. Also purchased Celestron Binocular Tripod Adapter which works well together.

[Aluminum] I am happy to find out that these little binoculars have excellent optical qualities. I purchased them for my wife due to their size for theatre and sporting events, thinking they would be fine. I normally use a nearly $3,000 pair of Swarovski's for birdwatching. As it turns out I take the Endeavor ED binocs on many of my birding outings. They are nearly as good as my Swarovski's in terms of clarity and color rendition. When compared side by side the Swarovski's may yield slightly more light in very low light conditions. I have been selling and repairing optics for nearly 60 years. I own the company and have honed my skills at judging optics without reference to reputation. The Vanguard Endeavor ED are by far the best that I have seen anywhere near this price. I bought the original pair for my wife who is not as interested in birding as I and loves the small size. After seeing the amazing results of the Vanguard Endeavor ED, I purchased one for myself and will use them in a variety of circumstances especially where lugging a big heavy pair of binocs is not convenient. I carry them everywhere now.

[2 to 8x] Very bright, clear, and compact, well made, excellent binoculars. I can attach the soft case that came with it to carry these binoculars on my belt so they don't bang against the camera hanging around my neck.

[2 to 8x] I was looking for a lightweight, small pair with good optics and this fit the bill. It was over my budget at full price, but since it was on sale I couldn't resist. Quality, solid design, and easy to use. Shipped out quickly and arrived in good shape.
