[0.3 lb] Great for installing on long action rifles were the average scope tube makes it difficult to mount a scope rewards to adjust eye relief.

[30 mm] Works fine, but need to be careful about how you install it. Check it with a level.

[7.2 x 4.9 x 1"] Holds my nose heavy Celestron Ultima 80 spotting scope steady and secure on a table top or bench top. You can tighten small traverse and angle elevation tension screws to eliminate excess play in the mount. Black crackle finish on cast legs. Best lowest cost tripod I've found.

[2 (per Ring)] Wanted to fit a pistol scope to my air pistol, this turned out to be perfect. I don't like to use knobs for tightening. These Hawke mounts are fixed with hex screws. Much better.

[30 mm] If you are in the market for a small binocular with top-of-the-line performance this, is it.

I have several old binoculars a Meade 7 x 50 porro, a Tasco 10 x 25 and Bushnell 10 X 25 and which like me were getting are old.

A friend recently became interested in bird watching and I did the research.  As I live in the Houston area and at the edges of both the Central and Mississippi migratory bird flyways in the U.S. and live on a large tract of land, I have the opportunity to see a lot of different birds.

As my old Meade was becoming harder to focus, I looked at the current market of ED binoculars and saw the Celestron NatureDX 8 X 42 model.  Like many reviews it is fantastic binocular.  I also decided to replace my small truck binoculars with something better than the Tasco 10 X 25 or the Bushnell and found the Hawk Vantage 8 X 32 model and I ordered it.  I also gave some thought to the Hawke Endurance ED model and almost sent an email to B & H to change out my order but I didn’t.

Upon arriving I did a comparison of the Celestron NatureDX against the Hawke Vantage.  I cannot see the difference between the two.  I can clearly see the difference between the Vantage the Tasco and the Bushnell. So, I drove out to the coast to look at the coastal shore birds.  The Vantage is a very good binocular.  It is lite, well built, easy to focus, very good light and for an eye glasses wearing person like me it has great eye relief.  I don’t see how the Vantage Endurance could be much better.

The Vantage is great binocular.
