At closest focus, you get a 4 horizontal field of view at 14mm, but even better, a smaller 3 at 60mm zoom, where the working distance is greatest and most convenient (3-4 from end of lens). The lens also gives good flower photos further away, such as shooting downward from a convenient standing position. Very handy for this purpose.
