Compatible with Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras, this 12-60mm lens provides a 24-120mm equivalent focal length range that spans wide-angle to telephoto perspectives.

Three aspherical elements and one extra-low dispersion element help reduce both spherical and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for improved sharpness, clarity, and color accuracy.

A POWER O.I.S. system minimizes the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. This image stabilization system is also compatible with the Dual I.S. function of select Panasonic cameras, which further employs sensor-shift type image stabilization for even more effective control of camera shake.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm produces a smooth bokeh quality to suit working with selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

The splash- and dust-resistant construction benefits working in inclement conditions and harsh environments.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens compatible with the Olympus E-M10 Mark III?

A: Yes this lens is compatible with the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III.

Q: 2. How does this compare with the 12-60 f2.8-4? Besides the aperture range changing more, is it the same lens and quality? Thank you.

A: A Kia is nice. A BMW is better. That is the main difference with these lenses. The higher price gets you a faster aperture, better lens design and better build quality.

Q: 3. Will this fit on PEN F?

A: Yes this is a micro four thirds lens and will work on any micro four thirds camera.

Q: 4. Will this autofocus on an Olympus OMD camera?

A: Yes. I have used in on the OM D EM10 and it does focus quickly and accurately. I usually use in on a Panasonic GX7. The lens has a good 5x range and is quite sharp, although a tad heavy in my opinion.

Q: 5. Does this have a stepless zoom? AKA - if zooming with this lens while filming a video, will there be noticeable changes in lighting as the lens adjusts aperatures (3.5 - 5.6)?

A: So sorry, but I haven't used this camera for video.

Q: 6. Have Olympus Pen E-P3, will Olympus image stabilization work with this lens?

A: As this lens has internal image stabilization, you won't need to use a camera's image stabilization. You will want to turn the camera's image stabilization off when using lenses that have their own stabilization.

Q: 7. Can this act as a macro lens -for flowers, etc?

A: Works very well. Dpreview specs the repro ratio at 0.27, over twice the usual magnification of most lenses. At closest focus, you get a 4 horizontal field of view at 14mm, but even better, a smaller 3 at 60mm zoom, where the working distance is greatest and most convenient (3-4 from end of lens). The lens also gives good flower photos further away, such as shooting downward from a convenient standing position. Very handy for this purpose.

Q: 8. is this lens giving anyone else a lot of blue flares in pictures? I don't know if its lens or the camera gx8

A: This lens should not be causing flare. Please email us at photo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a for assistance with your inquiry.

Q: 9. Is this lens focus by wire in manual mode?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens does manually focus by wire. However, the lens does feel natural in use. Moreover, it lets the camera display a magnified view of the subject without pressing a dedicated button or entering the menu.

Q: 10. Would this be good for gimbal use with RS2?

A: Yes, the Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens would be fine to pair with a Panasonic S1 series camera and the DJI RS2.

[58 mm (Front)] Truthfully, I was a little frustrated when I bought the camera GX8 and came this lens included, I just wanted the body and had in mind another lens, but by making several photos I was amazed at how fast it is in focus and the great zoom has, I personally worked well for me day and night with good results, judge prematurely and if doubt is a good lens to come in a kit.

[0.27x] This is one of three Panasonic lenses that I own for my G9. The other two are primes that I use for street and video photography. I purchased this lens for a vacation trip where I anticipated doing a lot of hiking and did not want to carry my heavy DSLR with a comparable lens. I recently used this lens for vacation photos, landscapes, and some street photography on a trip. I am very happy with my choice since the results are sharp and the focus performance of the lens is great. My only complaint is that the hood does not snap on very securely and I needed to be careful not to lose it since it sometimes fell off when it rubbed against my pants. Personally, i view that as a minor problem since the overall performance of the lens is what I expected.

[f/22] I plan to upgrade to higher quality lens in this range soon, but for the money, it is a good lens.

[Autofocus] After reading quite a number of negative reviews, I decided to take the plunge after B&H sent me some Panasonic lens promotions (thank you B&H!). I figured that the initial tests were probably pre-productions samples and that Panasonic would have probably fixed it by now. The MTF Chart looks pretty good (though not the only consideration) so could it be really that bad? I was debating between this and the 12-35 f2.8 as both are weather-sealed to match my GX8. In the end, however, I decided to choose the 12-60 for its price and purpose as an everyday lens since I have some primes already. As most m43 lenses go, the 12-60 gets sharper by a stop or two. I was hoping it won't look as mushy as the sample pictures from the ephotozine review... and it didn't disappoint me. At 12mm, the edges are acceptably sharp at f5.6 and at 60mm the edges are pretty sharp at f8.0. Comparing it with my PanaLeica 25mm at f5.6 it was pretty close. The build also doesn't scream plasticky but the zoom ring could be a little smoother. However, the maximum aperture starts pretty early... by 44mm you have already reached f5.6 (18mm f3.8, 25mm f4.5, 40mm f5.4). But then again it's not advertised as a fast lens anyway. All in all it's pretty good for its price and a good addition to a weather-sealed everyday walk lens in the Lumix lineup. It all boils down on your needs: Wide + More Reach + Weather-sealed... but slow = 12-60mm f3.5-5.6 Wide + Less Reach + Weather-sealed... but faster = 12-35mm f2.8 Wide + Less Reach but cheaper = 12-32mm f3.5-5.6

[Autofocus] This seemed like a good compromise between getting a zoom lens in the wide-field range, and cost (I just dumped over $1200 to get started in DSLM photography/videography). I like the crispness of my images, at a variety of f-stops and focal lengths. Although I expect that I may run into limitations eventually (I am already finding that I like shooting in manual mode as I learn more about my DMC-G85), I know I will grow with this lens for a long time!
