The Tiffen 43mm Enhancing Filter for Photographyis a combination of rare earth elements in glass. It removes a portion of the spectrum in the orange region, increasing the color saturation of reddish objects by eliminating the muddy tones and maximizing the red hues with minimal effect on other colors.

We all love Autumn. When the leaves begin to change color, we're all left breathless by their eternal beauty. Capturing those stunning colors on film or digital becomes a priority for any avid photographer. The Enhancing filter is a most valuable tool when it comes to this kind of nature photography. An Enhancer increases the saturation of the red/orange end of the spectrum and makes earth tones thoroughly saturated and vibrant. Colors appear to "pop".

You will find that the Enhancing filter works best in early morning or later afternoon photography - when the light is intense rather than the semi-washed out illumination of mid-day. This filter is also optimized for use during the overcast days of Autumn. Try it on an old barn or wooden bridge.

Tiffen makes the Enhancing filter in many sizes to accommodate the many uses this filter has. This filter can be used by the pro and amateur alike, weekend photo warrior or pro cinematographer and must be considered an essential addition to any photo arsenal.

Tiffen, a leader in the filter industry, proudly makes its filters in the USA and backs up its products with a solid 10-year warranty.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this filter cause vignetting on a Pentax 17-70 f/4 lens? Thanks.

A: No, it will not cause vignetting.

Q: 2. Is this the proper size filter for my Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm lens?

A: Yes it is the proper size filter.

Q: 3. How much vignetting would this lens have on a tokina 11-16 lens on a Nikon D7200?

A: Your camera body is not full frame and has a 1.5x magnification factor. As a result your 11-16mm lens when used on this body is essentially a 16.5mm -24mm lens. There should be no vignetting given these focal lengths when using a standard CP filter. However, if you are concerned Tiffen does make a low profile filter to avoid vignetting: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/163451-REG/Tiffen_77WIDCP_77mm_Circular_Polarizing_Wide.html

Q: 4. how can I screw a lee filter holder adapter ring onto this Tiffen CPL?

A: For a 77 mm thread, you need a filter holder adapter ring that is 77 mm dia. You screw it on, and clamp the filter holder.

Q: 5. Will this fit the Panasonic DMC-FZ70K lens? Will all the 55mm filters fit?

A: Yes, the Tiffen filter will fit the FZ70K and the camera will take all of the 55mm screw in filters.

Q: 6. Will this fit a Sony Pl lens? specifically for the 35, 50, 85mm PL lens for the Sony PMW-F3. I have researched and hand measured and am still unsure which size is appropriate. any help is greatly appreciated!

A: The Sony Cine-Alta lenses do have a filter mounting screw. It is M 95mm, pitch 1.0 mm. (One note: this excludes the 20mm lens.) In other words, they take a 95mm filter and this 86mm will not fit them.

Q: 7. Will this filter fit the sigma 18-200mm DC OS HSM lens for Canon EOS cameras?

A: Yes, the Tiffen 62mm Circular Polarizing filter will fit the Sigma 18-200mm for Canon EOS.

Q: 8. Is this cause vignetting with wide-angle lenses?

A: Depending on the focal length of your lens, this filter may cause vignette. You may want to look into a wide angle circular polarizer, such as the Tiffen 62mm Circular Polarizing Wide Angle (Low Profile Design) Filter: http://bhpho.to/1qbv3r0

Q: 9. Will the Tiffen62mm UV Protector Filter fit a Panasonic lumix fz1000

A: This camera takes a 62mm filter thread, yes it will fit.

Q: 10. I bought two of these filters at the same time. One is 7.5mm thick, the other 9mm thick. The font size on the 7.5mm is much smaller. I suspect one might be a fake, as I got two fakes from amazon today. Can someone verify the correct thickness of these? The specs say 5mm thick, which neither is.

A: Manufacturing specifications change over time, you may have gotten filters from two different production batches. The current production specification is 7.5mm thick. As you also contacted Tiffen directly by email with photos we do not believe your filters to be fake.

[43 mm] I got this lens in the Tiffen 55mm Digital Enhancing Filter Kit and love it. it brings out fall colors even when the eye can't see them and makes those you can see much more robust. I intend to buy this for each of my lenses. The Camp Road picture I have added was taken last Fall (2021) and to be honest the colors last year were not very good, this filter make the picture turn out much better than it would have without it pulling color from where there was little.

[0.1 lb] I'm a huge fan of using various filters to achieve the photos I want. I'd much rather nail the photo during the photography process than to have to manipulate it after the fact on the computer. The enhancing filer is a must have to achieve those rich earthy colors and nail the photo your eyes really see. No washed out earth tones.
