This 95mm Coarse Tiffen 95mm ND Filter 2-Stopis a solid ND filter with a filter factor of 4x that provides a 2-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.6 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Which size filter would fit the Pentax 67 105 f 2.4 lens?

A: According to my research, your lens uses 67mm filters such as this: https://bhpho.to/3IRyv6b Please check your lens cap. Often there is a number on the inside which indicates the filter size.

Q: 2. I can see a bit of threading on the front of the 62mm and 67mm Tiffen VNDs. Can you tell me what the diameter is of each of those? I realize it is not much, but it is there, and I would like to try and use it.

A: Unfortunately the Tiffen VND filters do not have front threads. The front of the filter is larger than the rear threads in order to reduce the risk of vignetting.

Q: 3. Hi,Will this ND filter fit on my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 ATX lens? Thanks.

A: No it will not. The Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 ATX lenses have a 77mm sized filter thread. See the link below for the proper option in the 77mm size:http://bhpho.to/So8rpt

Q: 4. what size lens cap to buy for the 52mm?

A: I would recommend the Kaiser 57mm Push-On Lens Cap, B&H # KALC57, as a slip-on lens cap for use on the Tiffen 52mm Variable Neutral Density Filter, or the slightly smaller Kaiser 56mm Push-On Lens Cap. B&H # KALC56, for a more snug fit.

Q: 5. Can I use this on Nikon 24-70 and Nikon 17-35?

A: This filter is usable on both the 24-70 and 17-35mm lenses, however, on the 17-35mm lens, you may experience vignetting on the wider focal lengths.

Q: 6. can i use it with canon lenses such as 70-200mm, or 50 mm?

A: The Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter can be used with lenses that have a filter thread of 77mm. The Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L has a filter thread of 77mm, and lens and filter combination is compatible. However, the Canon 70-200mm f/4L has a filter thread of 67mm and will need a 67mm filter bhpho.to/1lkVPtOThere are numerous versions of the Canon 50mm lens, and none of these lenses have a filter thread of 77mm. For the Canon 50mm f/1.2L, you will need a filter with a thread size of 72mm http://bhpho.to/1pBQ3VJ, the 50mm f/1.4 will need a filter thread size of 58mm http://bhpho.to/Urhszp, and the 50mm f/1.8 will need a filter with a thread size of 52mm http://bhpho.to/1kML3gr

Q: 7. Would this be OK on a 58-77 step up ring to allow use on a m43 lens?

A: You will be fine to use a 77mm filter on a step up ring to use on a micro 4/3 lens, however, depending on the focal length of the lens, you may experience vignette.

Q: 8. CAN I ADD ANOTHER FILTER OVER IT LIKE THE Tiffen 77mm Black Pro-Mist 1/8?

A: This Tiffen 77mm Variable Neutral Density Filter does not have front threads. If you were you stack it the filters, the Tiffen 77mm Black Pro-Mist 1/8 would have to go on the lens first followed by the Variable ND.

Q: 9. Hello, I have been doing simple photography for a while, but don't know much about my equipment... so I was wondering if this filter is compatible with a canon rebel T4i with a canon EF-S 55-250mm lens? Thanks for your time!

A: This filter is the incorrect size for the Canon EF-S 55-250 lens. Instead, you will need a filter with a thread size of 58mm. Take a look at the Hoya 58mm Variable Neutral Density filter: http://bhpho.to/1kcHnEZ

Q: 10. I just bought this filter, works great! But I am not able to use my 82mm Sensei lens cap for the ND. The ND it self seems to have a larger front diameter. What lens cap do you recommend? Thanks, -GG

A: Check out the Sensei 95mm lens cap, as the Tiffen 82mm Variable Neutral Density Filter has a front thread size of 95mm: http://bhpho.to/K9qRG6

[6 x 5.6 x 1.2"] This filter is a great value in VND filters, especially if you catch it on sale w/ a mail-in rebate like I did. It's really well built, the ring rotates smoothly and has clear markings, and it has a very large range of ND capability. I haven't used it out in the field yet, but in my few tests I can already tell it's much more convenient to have one VND than it is to carry and use a kit with multiple square filters and a holder like I'm used to doing.

[Solid ND] The advantage of that is variable intensity is that you can check the different effects you want. Personally I like an exposure time of 5 seconds for the water.

[6 x 5.6 x 1.2"] I realy like the adjustability of Filter darkness for the Southern Arizona Sun. It also replaces quite a few ND Individual Filters. For my Smaller lenses I'll use stepdown adapters..

[Solid ND] This is the perfect filter for getting the right shot without a lot of fumbling with changing out filters. The markings on the ring make it simple and easy to record which setting you used for the shot. Now you can get just what you're looking for with just a few turns on the filter. Easy to install and take off the lense as well. Great product.
