Capture Full HD 1080 video and still images at depths as far down as 200' beneath the surface, thanks to Fantasea FG9X Underwater Housing for Canon G9 X & G9 X Mark IIfor the Canon PowerShot G9 X or G9 X Mark II Digital Camera. The enclosure is equipped with dual fiber-optic ports for attaching optional cables, which will allow you to connect external strobes. Ergonomic mechanical controls and touchscreen functionality for essential commands/settings on the G9 X's LCD combine to afford access to all camera functions.

Built for durability, the housing is made from injection-molded polycarbonate that is resistant to both shock and corrosion. It's black on the front, sides, top, and bottom but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and rear camera controls. A moisture detector and alarm alerts you immediately in the unlikely event of a breach in the waterproof seal.

The housing features a built-in, flat lens port with a 67mm filter thread for attaching optional, accessory wide-angle and macro conversion lenses, as well as color-correction filters. A convenient cold shoe mount on top provides a connection point for an optional lighting arm. As an added bonus, the housing includes a removable flash diffuser and a removable anti-glare LCD hood.

  • Features a depth rating of 200'
  • Double main O-ring seal ensures housing is watertight
  • Moisture detector with flashing LED light and audible alarm alerts you right away in unlikely event of a breach, so you can hopefully get to surface before camera sustains any damage
  • Made from injection-molded polycarbonate that is resistant to both shock and corrosion for durability
  • Black on the front, sides, top, and bottom but clear in the back to allow you to monitor the O-ring seal and rear camera controls
  • Removable anti-glare LCD hood improves visibility in bright conditions
  • Camera installation is easy and secure

  • Equipped with dual fiber-optic ports for attaching optional cables, which will allow you to connect external strobes
  • At depths greater than about 60', or when diving in dark conditions, an external light source is necessary to provide adequate illumination and restore colors that get absorbed by water and turned into muted blue and green shades
  • To preserve natural colors of subjects and environments in images, try to stay within arm's reach of what you're shooting. The further away you go, the more light is absorbed by water--which acts like a big blue/green filter
  • Housing includes a removable flash diffuser to be placed over camera's flash when fiber-optic port connection plate is not in place. This will reduce backscatter, glare, and hard shadows

  • Affords access to all camera functions via mechanical push-buttons, grooved knobs/dials, levers, and camera's touchscreen
  • Controls List: Zoom lever, flash push-down lever, mobile connect button, control ring, latch dial/lock, shutter release, mode dial, power on/off, movie recording, quick set menu, menu, info button, touchscreen buttons, flash pop-up knob, and playback button
  • Controls clearly labeled for easy identification
  • Three threaded holes on bottom for connection to optional tray with handles, which improves balance while offering mounting points for lighting arms that can hold strobes or video lights
  • Supplied hand strap provides some added security
  • Slightly negative buoyancy in saltwater with camera inside

  • Built-in port with flat front element
  • 67mm filter thread for attaching optional, accessory wide-angle and macro conversion lenses or color-correction filters
  • Wide-angle lenses provide greater angle of coverage to allow you to fit more in frame, while macro lenses magnify your image to enable close-ups with greater clarity and detail
  • Both types of conversion lenses get you closer to subjects, reducing amount of water in between you and therefore minimizing distortion
  • Optional, external color-correction filters are available for tropical blue and green water to restore hues that get absorbed underwater
  • Since color filters reduce amount of light that enters lens, they are most effective in sunny conditions at depths of about 80' or less
  • Color filters not recommended for use in conjunction with external lighting, as combination can throw off color accuracy in images

[2.095 lb] Just returned from a dive trip to Cozumel and used new Fantasea housing for the first time. Everything seemed fine and no leaks. I did dive once with the housing without the camera as directed, The housing seems more sturdy than my previous Canon for a different camera which flooded. The directions instruct you not to close the housing when flying due to the cabin pressure. I left the back ajar and the back did seal during the flight and was VERY difficult to open to insert the camera to get ready to dive. Otherwise so far so good- used it for 10 dives to date.

[2.095 lb] A terrific camera - a very nice step up from my G9. The new AF if very good - locking on quickly and holding. The extra MP are very nice to have - and great for cropping. Video is the best in class.

[200' / 61 m] I bought this case a few days ago after gathering all info on the Fantasea, Canon and Ikelite housings. I chose the Fantasea because it had great reviews and seemed to be a quality product without being too expensive. It works beautifully. Easy access to buttons, even touch-screen, everything worked great. I highly recommend this housing.

[2.095 lb] I have to say if it weren’t for the full frame sensor and beautiful image of the S5ii then the G9ii would be the only LUMIX camera I would want. It’s truly a video and photography Swiss Army knife. All of the features I wanted when I purchased my S5II vs the S5iix were solved when I picked up the G9ii. Now I have a perfect companion caner-a for my S5II and with the recent incentive on the G9ii buying this was a no brainer.

[7.4 x 6.95 x 6"] So far, I love this camera. I haven’t delved into the 800pg online owner’s manual yet, so almost all shooting has been done iA. Running it with Vario 14-140 and seems to be a great combo. Only lens I might add soon would be a macro.

[7.4 x 6.95 x 6"] I've had 10 different digital cameras. I've done professional video and stills throughout my working life. My G9II (and Gh6) is the best camera I've ever used. The AF on the G9II for BIF and sports is extremely good. The video is a professional grade documentary or B roll cinema camera. Pair it with Panasonic PL grade lenses and it becomes a tool with which you can do your best work. The handheld hires is amazing.

[200' / 61 m] My prior cameras are a Lumix GM5, and the GX9. I love the GM5 for its compactness especially with the small 12-32 and 35-100 zoom lenses, and it's a perfect travel camera (I wish they'd make an updated version). I wasn't in love with the GX9 however, so when I saw they added phase detect autofocus to the G9, I traded up. I'm so happy I did! Everything about the G9 seems like it was very carefully engineered and is better! Especially the phase detect auto focus. I was concerned about the larger size of the camera coming from smaller bodies, but the ergonomics are great, and the included 12-60 Leica lens feels like it's a definite step up from the Lumix version, without being too big. The camera pairs especially well with the Lumix/Leica 100-400 mark ii lens, and I'm looking forward to doing a lot of wildlife photography with this combo!
