Even with the solar eclipse filter, never use the optical view finder to frame the shot and always wear specialized solar eclipse glasses.

A: There are two slots that the filter can go in. Be sure to put the Lee Stopper in the slot that is the closer to the camera with the soft part towards the camera as well. Those two things should keep light from filtering in. Also, make sure that you cover the eyepiece either with tape or the cover provided by the camera mfg.
