[Aluminum alloy] This machined part has the look and feel of something professional. Love it. Very sturdy. Would buy it again.

[Aluminum alloy] Purchased this saddle for my Rainbow Astro RST-135 mount as I wanted a smaller dual style saddle compared to longer 7 models. This works very well with my mount and it is solid build. One important note, Losmandy has updated the knob and it is now round knurled knob, what you see in third picture. I think new knob is better.

[Aluminum alloy] I ordered this over the ADM version because I can grip these knobs better than the ADM version. This was also a little less cost and has more connection holes.� I'm now running a side by side 80mm and 127mm APOs on my Mach1.

[Aluminum alloy] This thing looks like it fell off the Death Star. Light but utterly rock solid. The oversized clamp screw offers plenty of torque and dual spring-loaded posts on either side of the screw provide very stable grip across the Losmandy rail.

If you're going to go out on a limb and drop a heavy telescope onto a conventional tripod, this component will keep it's end of the chain intact. You also need a sturdy tripod and beefy ball head like the RSS for confidence in such a tricky setup. The weak point will be the attachment of this plate to the ball head below - make sure the screw is correct, strong, and drop some blue locktite on the threads before torquing it down as hard as you safely can. If you can mount more than one hole, do so, rotation at the plate connection is the main risk. The Skywatcher Star Adventurer (Vixen) Ball Head Adapter is a good add to such a setup. It lets you drop in another ball head so the tripod can still be used for conventional camera work without removing this clamp.

[0.72 lb] Fits on my CGE dovetail bar well. It is easy to adjust along the bar with a large knurled knob.

[Aluminum alloy] High quality machined product and at a decent price point. One difference from the product page photo is that the knob is a knurled aluminum round one instead of a black plastic one. This seems like an improvement over the product photo so no complaints from me.


As another reviewer mentioned it came with two allen drive cap bolts that fit into any of the four recessed holes on the under side. These have 1/4-20 thread.

[Aluminum alloy] Ok, so I am writing this review even though I didn't use this product. I purchased it because I thought it was much smaller than it is.
- Max Width: 3.75"; Total Height: 1"; Total Length: 2.5"; Saddle Length: 2.5"; Saddle Height Upper: .6"; Saddle Width Upper: 1.85"; Saddle Height Lower: .25"; Saddle Width Lower: 3.15"; Saddle Length: 2.5".
- The dovetail mounting bracket is extremely well made because it is made from 6061 aluminum, has been machined IAW with dovetail specifications (see above), and the finish is anodized and extremely durable.
- There is one " threaded mounting hole and 5 unthreaded and recessed mounting holes.
- The unit shipped with two Allen key mounting bolts which fit into the recessed mounting holes for a flush finish.
- With respect to B&H, from selection to delivery this transaction went perfectly. Thank you ... as always - will shop again.
