Heliopan 55mm Close-up Lens +2

Heliopan 55mm Close-up Lens +2
  • Product Code: eq329
  • Availability: In Stock

$59.85 $90.97

The Heliopan 55mm Close-Up Lens +2is a convex diopter designed to decrease the minimum focus distance of any lens in order to produce a shorter working distance for close-up photography. Available in varying strengths, close-up lenses also feature 55mm front filter threads for combining two or more filters to fine-tune results.

The front and rear surfaces of the filter both feature a single anti-reflection coating. Each coating helps to increase light transmission by reducing reflections, scattered light, and ghosting. Additionally, they offer protection to the filter substrate while helping to keep the glass clean for longer than uncoated glass.

This Heliopan filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. It features a brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Brass filter ring helps to prevent jamming and provides additional strength.

Dual threading with 55mm front filter threads permits combining with other filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit a nikon 18-55 mm kit lens for the d3200?

A: Yes it will. To ensure if a filter will fit your lens look for the lens diameter written on the outside ring of the lens. The Nikon 18-55 mm has a diameter of 52 mm that matches this filter. Works very well. Enjoy!

Q: 2. Would these attach to a Sony Hx400v Cyber Shot and would it need an adapter?

A: Good, I am going to order them. Thanks for the info!

Q: 3. Can i use this product with Tilta 4*5.65 carbon fiber matte-box ?

A: This is not compatible with that matte box. This is a circular 138mm filter; the Tilta matte box is designed for rectangular filters 4 x 5.65".

Q: 4. Does this come with a viewing filter for the TLR?

A: This is only one filter.

Q: 5. Hi I have a Nikor 18-200mm lens. Which close-up filter shpuld I use.? 72mm?Is it the same a as wide angle converter ?

A: Yes, you would use the 72mm because the Nikkor 18-200mm has a 72mm thread. This filter is not the same as a wide angle converter, but you can get a 72mm wide angle converter for the lens.

Q: 6. What lens could I use this macro lens kit filter with? I have a Nikon 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8, and a Tampon 35mm 1.4 lens. Would this macro lens kit fit any of these lenses listed above?

A: All three of the mentioned lenses have a different filter size, so this Vivitar 55mm Close up Macro Lens Kit would not fit directly on them.

Q: 7. What is magnification for this lens? I'm looking for x1.5 up to x3 (similar to Nikon 5T and 6T). Thank you

A: According to the forum for this product on the Nikon USA website, The magnification factor of the D-SLR Close Up Lens (52mm) is 0.44x. (Answered by a Nikon USA representative.)

Q: 8. ARRI Diopter Frame 138mm for Matte Box BH # ARK2.0013740 • MFR # K2.0013740 Can it be used with this product?

A: 138mm filters and 138mm filter holders all confirm to industry standards and thus are all compatible. To answer your question, yes, this filter will work in that frame.

Q: 9. Will this lens kit fit on my Nikon D7100? 67mm lens?

A: The Tiffen 138mm Close-up +1/2 Lens is designed to be used on lenses that have a 138mm filter thread size. If your lens has a 67mm filter thread size, the Tiffen 138mm Close-up +1/2 Lens will not fit onto your lens. The only option from Tiffen that would work on 67mm filters would be the Tiffen 67mm Close-up Lens Set, B&H # TICUS67.

Q: 10. Is Heliopan Digital ES 77.no3 macro?

A: It works similar to macro in that it allows you to get closer to a subject, lessening the minimum focus distance.

[55 mm] I found the screw-on filter/lenses to be of excellent quality with a great price.

[Brass] I was referred to this kit by an award- winning cinematographer. It's inexpensive and effective. I especially love the close up clarity when I have the macro 10x lens on.

[+2] So far I have used this lens for close-ups of flowers and various seed pods and plants. Great results! Easy to use! Great price!

[Glass] I purchased this filter with the +2 lens. Both have excellent optical quality and can be used in conjunction to get a +5 result. Light to carry, a bit slower to install than a macro lens but with all the benefits and none of the drawbacks ie, higher cost, bulk and weight. Embarrassingly, when I first attached them I could not get things to focus as I was keeping the distance required by my macro setting. But as soon as I closed in, Voila, it is like photographing through a microscope. Bug pictures here I come.

[Close-Up] I was surprised to find that Nikon made a Close up Lens in a 52mm thread. It works very well, and works even better at the end of a set of extension tubes. I use mine on the working end of a 50mm f/1.8D Nikon Lens. I only wish Nikon would make the same quality close-up lens in a 40, 62, 67, 72, and 77mm thread

[55 mm] I'm using this with a 58mm Petzval adjustable bokeh lens (Lomography product) to give me some macro ability. The results are beautiful! I was concerned that the quirky (antique?) optical design of the Petzval might preclude doing closeup work with an add-on closeup lens. On the contrary! I'm getting incredible detail in the center of the frame (a characteristic of the Petzval design), and can still adjust the bokeh for effect. I'm even able to use this closeup lens inside the Petzval's deep lens shade with very little vignetting. And what vignetting there is winds up being enhanced by the bokeh. This is a MUST have for owners of the Petzval 58mm adjustable bokeh lens.

[0.135 lb] This high quality lens is multicoated, so the risk of flare is minimized. Also, the brass mount prevents seizing on lens mounts. As a Polaroid pack film buff, I use a 45-46mm step up ring in order to allow me to use common 46mm filters on my Polaroid 180. I think the 195 has the same 45mm filter size. Use the appropriate viewfinder goggles from a Polaroid 581A Portrait kit (for the 250, but the Zeiss rangefinder is the same as the 180), and the world is your oyster! This gets you out of the 5 feet minimum focus of the camera into an intimate portrait distance. The high quality of the close-up images, even wide open and at minimum focus, is quite astonishing.

[55 mm] I use this with my Polaroid 180, using a finder from the close up set made for the Polaroid 250 (much cheaper than the set made for the 180). I use a 45-46mm filter adapter in order to mount this to the lens. This should also work for the Polaroid 190, 195. In the case of my 180, the the addition of the adapter ring means that this lens is not at the same distance as what the RF finder was calibrated for. I found that with the camera RF set at the 8 feet mark, the focus in the RF is correct with the image focus. That makes it very simple to make closeups. It has the usual high quality of construction from Heliopan. The brass ring means that it can be removed easily from my aluminum filter ring adapter without binding. It's a great item for taking pictures of flowers in the garden.
