Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what is the max extention on the boom arm?

A: The boom arm of the Kupo Junior Boom Roller Stand (B&H# KUKS301512) at longer extensions will typically require a counterweight (e.g. a sandbag like B&H# IMSBFO15) and the degree to which it may be extended will vary by the relative distances from the point at which it attaches to the stand and those of the counterweight, on the one hand, and light (or other addition), on the other. Although the boom arm is about 60" long when fully extended, it should not be used at full extension and counterweighting is essential.

Q: 2. How tall can it set with the boom arm out ?

A: The boom arm on the Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand can extend to 61-110 inches.

Q: 3. Will this work with a flashpoint c stand?

A: It might, the column from each brand will vary slightly in thickness it might be a tight fit or not fit at all.

Q: 4. How tall of a ceiling do you need to extend this boom arm out to set it in place? With wheels attached.

A: The boom part on the Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand can be set into position with the stand at the lowest setting and then extended. Working with at least a 7 foot ceiling would be good; the minimum working height is 65.4"/166cm.

Q: 5. Is it possible to lower the center column to the ground in order to improve stability with a forth point of contact and also to make the minimum height less (just like on a regular combo cine stand)?

A: While it may be possible for the center of the light stand base to connect to the floor, the Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand would not be the most stable in this configuration. It would be best to have the legs spread out to the maximum width, and you may use the boom feature of the stand to boom the light fixture to a lower height than when the center column is used upright.

Q: 6. How does this differ from Kypo 546 boom stand? Is it the same stand and the only difference is the rollers?

A: The KUKS501311 and the KUKS301512 are similar stands other than the wheeled base.

Q: 7. What is the footprint of this stand when all legs are fully extended? And what is the total length of this stand when it is folded up for storage?

A: The folded dimension of the stand are about 29.5 x 15.5 x 14.5".

Q: 8. What is the diameter of the stand when folded up?

A: The Kupo Shorty Stand (7') BH #KUKS140211 has a folded diameter of about 4.5".

Q: 9. What is the minimum working height of this stand?

A: The minimum working height of this Kupo Shorty Stand would be 27.8".

Q: 10. will this work with Matthew c stands?

A: If you mean Matthew's c stands columns. Yes they work perfectly.

[Yes] Exactly what I needed to convert my c-stand turtle base junior receiver into a low baby pin light stand. You can feel the quality of this pin in its weight.

[Yes] Seriously Heavy Duty. Larger than expected....Love it, just be sure you have enuff space, ceiling height, leg spread is wide....I used the casters which took it a bit higher than my ceiling...Had to tip to extend to enable the boom. Don't plan to use as standard light stand unless I need to take on location..recommend if you need heavy duty for a large modifier like the light motiv by elinchrom...

[Steel] We use this stand for heavy duty lighting situations in the field or booming a mic long distance where stability is key. The mechanics of the system are very well made and have not disappointed us. We have a few brand name stands (Manfrotto etc) and they perform very well. Kupo is new to our inventory and after only a few uses I highly recommended it.

[4] I use this with my Nanlite Forza 720B. It's nice having a boom built into the stand when needed. When not using it as a boom having a 16ft combo stand. Build quality is great. quality seems as good as my Matthews stands. I have a Matthews boom that cost $500 that I use with my windup stand. The Matthews is rated at 25lb at full extension The Kupo 546M K Stand Junior Boom Stand cost $420 and is rated 17.6lb full extension and I get best of both worlds.
