The Tiffen 2x2" 82C Light Balancing Filterhelps to increase the color temperature by 400K in order to cool the image slightly in order to match the color quality of illumination. When using an 82C filter, you will be able to attain 3200K balance when the prevailing light source is 2800K. The cooling effect of this filter requires a 0.6-stop increase in exposure for normal results.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. It measures 2 x 2" / 50.8 x 50.8mm.

A: Very good point Justin. It takes a few minutes to build if you use the soft box. I would say the most difficult part is when for the first time you attempt to put everything back in the carriage box. Tricky but after a while you learn how to do it.

A: I use a variety of vmount batteries to power my LC160s. I have 190w v mounts and fully charged it will power the light for roughly an hour.

[82C] Like the odd 1-iron a golfer might bring, a 47a is not the everyday go-to of filters. That said, it emulates ortho film amazingly well, and for certain types of architectural photography, dramatically lightens, if not whitens skies while deeply defining most everything else. For instance, ironwork like the Eiffel Tower, a Ferris wheel, or an old, complicated bridge would become a nearly abstract study in lines with a filter like this. Or, if one wanted images evoking a late 19th Century feel, the ortho rendition would be prefect, especially with a soft focus, Lomographic, or pinhole lens. Shades of Matthew Brady! As for the Tiffen brand, there’s really none better. Never in 40 years of film photography have I heard of quality issues, except for a one-off problem once 20 years ago. They work and cost less, yet made in the USA! While the deep-pocketed Leica or Linhof user may sniff at them, this Mamiya RB photographeur, merely exclaims, “Tsk!”, or even, “Tchah!”, and continues merrily. Buy with great confidence! 5

[82C] I checked videos online about tests done with this filter to see which Ultra contrast filter level I was going to buy. I decided to go with UC 2, and now that I have it in my hand and could perform tests on my own, I must say it is pretty strong. the UC 1 is just enough. Another thing you must take into account is that the exposition can not be trusted from the camera. With this filter you have to use a light meter all the time. Because the camera reading is at least 1 1/2 stop under the real exposition. Other than that is a great tool when you are shooting video, and don't want those black without information, and you want to avoid overexposed highlights 5
