This Super-Softie Windshield & Universal Shotgun Mount Kit for Selected Mics from Rycote is designed to work with Schoeps CMIT5U microphones, Rode NTG2 mics, and more. Its slip-on windshield features an aerodynamic shape and surface structure made from the company's 3D-Tex material, which allows for attenuation of wind noise with acoustic transparency. It is ideal for a variety of sound recording applications including video, ENG, and more.

The Super-Softie has no rigid internal structure, causing virtually no polar pattern distortion. Its robust design has been engineered for use in challenging environments, and if it becomes rain-soaked, it can be squeezed out and shaken dry expeditiously and with ease. Also, if it becomes coated with dust it can be rinsed quickly without affecting its performance.

Furthermore, the kit includes a patented Duo-Lyre shock mount, which supplies isolation against disturbances, handling noise, low frequency rumble, camera motor vibrations, and more.

A: No. The Rycote 033202 Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mic (5.9" Long, 0.7 to 0.9" Diameter) is too long for use with the Deity S-Mic 2S Short Shotgun Microphone. The S-Mic 2S is 5.83" (148mm) long and the inside depth of the windshield is 5.9" (150mm) long, so which is longer than the length of the microphone. The Rycote 033201 Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mic (4.7" Long, 0.7 to 0.9" Diameter) [B&H # RYSS12M] would be a better option. The inside depth of this windshield is 4.7" (120mm).

[0.7 lb] Works perfectly for my shotgun mic, maybe strong wind you have to put a dead cat, but for ordinary work in and out is a great tool for sound location and sound field recording. 5

[0.7 lb] My favorite mic for interrior dialog and interviews is the MKH50, and with this Super-Softie on it, I can now also use it outdoors. I have (so far) only tried it in moderate wind conditions, but it seems to work quite well. Very happy. 5

[0.7 lb] Such a good blimp for boom work, the dead cat handles heavy wind like a pro. I could wish the XLR clamp wasnt so close at the base which sometimes gets tight against the boom pole mount, but its not a big deal- no real design flaws in this whole piece. 5
