[Yes] This changed my opinion of the Boulevard 11 from, ok to darn good. The insert gives me more ways to configure for lenses etc, and has neat little storage slots for extra cards and a battery. Plus it has a top flap to keep unwanted hands out of said bag. I am still leery of the bag in rain, but this goes a long way to protecting the lenses properly.

[Red] I was looking for a sling bag that could support a Nikon Z with a native 70-200mm f2.8 attached and tried several slings including some from Think-tank. Most sling bags are not wide enough to Fit large lenses attached to the camera, and also tend to carry More vertically. This Sling carries differently because of rotating pivot joints on the bag and so can be carried in a more horizonal position, reducing uncomfortable rubbing points on the lower back. The quality is unmistakable. The zippers, hardware and leather are built to last a lifetime.


Oberwerth is a classic German company, very light on online details, which is why I am writing this review. At this price point it would be great to have less guesswork involved before hitting submit on the order.


FINAL THOUGHTS: This bag is for the person who doesn't want a giant camera backpack, who maybe wants to take a larger lens to a sports tournament, and not look completely out of place doing so. This is not for large wildlife/birding lenses (too small) but if your total length of lens and camera falls under 13 inches, it should work splendidly, while maintaining a sense of elegance, and a quality feel that will be present long after the price of the bag is forgotten. Camera owners buy way too many bags (the word on the street) mostly because all bags are a compromise of size, comfort, weather sealing, appearance, functionality, fit etc. the goal for me was fewer bags, that serve multiple real world transportation scenarios. If this review saves anyone from buying 3 or 4 other bags trying to find the right one, you might even come out ahead cost/clutter wise buying this. (I Can't believe I am saying this, but it might just be true).

[3.905 lb] Oberwerth makes awesome stuff. By far the best on the market for style, pimpness, and quality. I use this for my M. Will fit the M with a M lens.

[Snap Fastener] A superb walk-around bag in both form and function. The Q2 with handgrip fits perfectly. For added control, I also have a hand strap that likewise fits without issue. (see photos). There is just enough additional space for spare batteries, cards, cell phone, and sunglasses.
Most striking is the leather's quality and feel. Despite initial reticence about the price, no regrets.

[3.905 lb] It's a snuggle fit for Q2 with hand grip plus room for misc. stuff. This bag is low key and yet no mistakenly expressing high quality. I tried my other cameras. Sony A7C with small prime lens fits fine, Sony and Nikon with view finder on top don't work. Hasselblad 907X 50C w/ 45mm can go in but hard to take out w/o hand grip. With hand grip, the flip top can close but can't lock. It's a great bag for Leica, but not recommend for other camera brands.

[3.905 lb] The reality is that I need variously sized bags for different jobs/excursions. If it's just to go on a trip, I can slip my little mirrorless in any handbag. If it's for a job where I need a flash, 2 - 3 lenses and a laptop, I have a big camera bag. If I'm traveling or need two flashes or to cart around my 70 - 200, then I'll use my rolling camera bag. If I'm hiking, I'll use a knapsack. But I was missing something to carry a body, a lens, a wallet, a phone, a flash and an iPad in a purse that doesn't scream camera bag. And to be honest, I probably need that at least half the time. This is a gorgeous back, beautifully designed. If it were just a purse, I would love it. I love the thick strap, it's easy on the shoulder. I love the way you can leave the purse open, and the insert lid is attached to the side with velcro so it's heard open too, which means I can reach into the purse with out fumbling around with a flap, which is extremely annoying. It's just a very well thought out, high quality, useful and good looking bag. Five stars. It's not cheap, but it's less expensive than keeping on buying a series of quality bags that you don't feel like using because they are not quite what you wanted. I used to be guilty of that. Now, I just buy the best I can afford, because quality is a pleasure to use and it lasts.

[3.905 lb] I’ve been using the Oberwerth Q bag for a couple of weeks now, and I’m impressed with its overall quality and design. The leather looks and feels even better in person—extremely soft with a matte black finish that’s understated and stylish. I’ve had a few sprinkles of rain on it, and the water seemed to just bead up.

The bag’s design is simple but very cool. It’s a nice bag to carry around, being both very light and comfortable with an adjustable strap. In terms of capacity, it comfortably holds my Q3, extra memory cards, a couple of batteries, a microfiber cloth, and maybe a few other items. There’s even a little pouch in the outer pocket that’s perfect for an Apple Air Tag.

Accessing gear is easy, and everything is well-organized within the bag. While the padding is minimal, it’s enough to protect my gear from everyday bumps and jostling. One standout feature is the snap hardware on the front, which adds a layer of security—initially, I found it a bit tricky to open, but it’s designed to be safer from potential pickpockets in busy areas.

Though the Oberwerth Q bag is the most expensive I’ve ever owned, I love its look, feel, and water resistance, making it worth it for me.
