Q: 1. With LRT Subscription, It provides Internet too? or do we still need to provide sources like Modems/WiFi?

A: The LiveU LRT Cloud Bonding Annual Service (Download) does not provide internet but is a service for the LiveU Solo SDI/HDMI Video/Audio Encoder that combines multiple connections, like WiFi, ethernet, and two cellular modems, to have a robust and reliable connection for streaming. Ethernet and WiFi are provided with the LiveU Solo SDI/HDMI Video/Audio Encoder, but cellular modems are an additional expense. An example of a product is the LiveU Solo Connect 2-Modem Bundle for Solo Video Encoder. See the link below: https://bhpho.to/3ZalJax

Q: 2. Can this unit connect to wifi without a USB modem connected? We are looking to connect as wifi only. No bonding. No direct wire connection to a modem.

A: The unit also has a CAT5 connection. And if you are at a difficult site, you can mix all 3.

Q: 3. Do I need to pay a licence or another extra for bonding?

A: Yes, bonding is a technology built into LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport). You can purchase the bundle which includes the Solo Unit and one year of LRT from the B&H store or if you wish you can purchase the unit without LRT and purchase it month to month you register it on our portal.

Q: 4. Does the Solo do bonding without the LRT service? I know the Solo can be used without LRT, but is there any form of bonding without LRT? It's not clear to me from reading the LiveU Solo Expert responses.

A: Thats good question. I bought a solo from B&H. It was cheaper at 995 bucks without LRT.Upon firing up the unit for the first streaming it pumped me right into LRT. I checked out my account and it said I'd purchased it from another source.I dont have any record of that but I'm using it anyway.

Q: 5. Does this hook up directly to internet/YouTube or to a laptop and from there to internet-YouTube?

A: This connects directly to youtube, etc through an internet connection. It does not need a laptop to function in the field. We have used a cellular usb modem, direct Cat5 internet connection, wifi, and a Cradlepoint cellular device to access the internet with no issues. We start the stream by accessing the Solo website with a smartphone. The events can be pre-configured using a pc but its not required. I hope this helps and we highly recommend using the LiveU Solo.

Q: 6. Does the equipment come with a power charger and extension cables for internet modems? What exactly is in this package? What is the virtual cloud server? What is the difference of this package with the one that costs 1849 dollars?

A: Hi bamk R. Yes it comes with a power connection and everything you see here. The package you are looking at is for our Solo HDMI bundle. The cloud server is where we do our bonding, apply our panted LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) algorithm to the signal for the highest possible quality stream. The main difference between this and the more expensive one is the connections on the unit. The higher priced model has both HDMI and SDI inputs. Hope this answers your questions.

Q: 7. Is this a single channel input box?

A: Yes, Single input single output

Q: 8. Which includes the liveu solo box?

A: The contents of the LiveU Solo box are as follows: LiveU Solo HDMI Video/Audio Encoder AC Adapter with Power Cord Belt Pouch HDMI to Mini HDMI Cable 2 x USB to HDMI Cable

Q: 9. unlock code?

A: Please call Zv Technical Support at 877-493-3833 or email them at support@zeevee.com. They can help you out with the unlock code. Thanks

Q: 10. Can this encoder simulcast to Facebook, YouTube, and a website?

A: Hi Eleazer and thank you for your question. We can output our stream to one destination. To simulcast to multiple destinations you can use one of our integrated partners like Restream.io or Switchboard Live.

[3 lb] We use two of these for our digital signage around campus. These encoders have been up and running 24/7 for around 5 years and we've never had any issues. I've been really pleased with the continued support and firmware updates from ZeeVee as well as how easy it is to manage them from the web interface.

[3 lb] We bought our Solo almost a year ago. If your need is to stream live events using bonded cellular connections, LiveU Solo is exactly what you need and we love ours. Community events, sports, weddings, breaking news will all shine with LiveU.

If you are streaming events from locations where you have fixed 5Mb+ LAN connections, you have many other streaming hardware options to look at. Some of which will be cheaper, but all of which will be more complicated to setup and go live.

The bonding feature for cell, WiFi and even LAN is what makes LiveU different. they basically invented the technology and most TV station use LiveU's broadcast gear for live shots.

If you are an event producer, video production company or even a non-profit with lots of events LiveU Solo will light up your Social Media and WEB site.

[1.5 lb / 680 g] Very easy set up and work as described.
I also discovered that it will work without subscribing to the LRT service but it only connects to a single carrier. The difference is night and day

The boot Up is about 4 minutes.
If you are not currently subscribing to the LRT services and then you suddenly subscribe to it it could take up to four hours for the system to catch up.

[1.5 lb / 680 g] I’ve been streaming live events now for 2 years and this is just what I’ve looked for. I bought one and tested thoroughly with several configurations and they all worked flawlessly. I tried two cell connections via 2 Mofi 4500 modems with AT&T sim and T-Mobile sim. In one test I connected one Mofi via Ethernet connection and the other via WiFi. In the middle of streaming I physically unplugged the Ethernet cable leaving only the WiFi active. It continued streaming at 1080p with barely a hickup. I say “barely” because there was a very slight glitch in the video but other than that — flawless. Wow. I’m was impressed enough that I bought a 2nd LiveU for carrying on my hip and shooting with a single camera for run-and-gun. The cellular bonding technology is amazing and just what I’ve needed. I have not tried it in the field yet but am confident it will do the job for me.

[1.5 lb / 680 g] Purchased the LiveU Solo to do portable livestreaming events. We have only used the ethernet connectivity so far and it has worked very well. The preview window on the unit is very handy at confirming the image and camera connection. LiveU online support is great and extremely helpful.
