The Contemporary Research QCA9-33 is an active RF combiner that includes eight high-level inputs and one low-level input, combining with high isolation as well as amplifying up to a 33 dBmV output level. Designed for QMOD HDTV applications, the eight RF inputs typically receive 29 dBmV RF from QMOD HDTV modulators. The ninth input is for up to 19 dBmV RF signals, such as incoming cable feed, a control channel from an ICE-HE Head End control modulator, or any other QMOD or QCA9-33. Up to eight QCA9-33 combiners can feed a single combiner to deliver up to 76 channels. The low-noise, wideband 860 MHz amplifier compensates for combining losses and adds 3 dBmV of gain, typically supplying a total output of up to 33 dBmV. This compact unit mounts in a single rack space using CR RK1 and RK-2 rack kits (available separately), and can be mixed with QMOD HDTV modulators using the same rack kits.

Q: 1. I got this cable with the Senn 600 and when plugged into my Canon 80D it only registers on the LEFT channel, is this because of the cable or because the Senn is a mono mic? Do I need to do something else to have it record bother left and right channels, there are no options on the 80D for that, thanks.

A: The LMT-100 is specifically designed for connection of a mono mic to a camera. Audio should be present on both sides using this cable and should have no issues with the Sennheiser or similar mics. Q: 2. Is it can be used for DGPS antenna ??

A: These antenna cables are designed and specified for use with Wireless microphone antenna distribution systems. Unfortunately we do not offer DGPS systems here and can not confirm compatibility. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your device.

Q: 3. can you recommend a longer cable to work with this adapter?

A: For a longer cable run, you may use a standard XLR cable. You may consider B&H # KOM4025 for a 25' extension.

Q: 4. can you recommend a longer cable to work with this adapter?

A: Since this is an impedance matching transformer, it would be recommended to use an XLR cable of the length of your choice to connect to the XLR female side in order to extend.

Q: 5. If a device supports sending phantom power out of its 3.5mm mic input, will this adapter/transformer pass the phantom power up the XLR cable to the mic?

A: We could not guarantee that 48v phantom power would pass properly through this type of adapter if being used with a balanced 3.5mm jack with phantom power output.

Q: 6. Do you have unterminated RG8 cables? I need two 100' lengths.

A: B&H does not offer bulk or unterminated RG8 coaxial cabling.

Q: 7. Is there a way to add phantom power device to use my audio Technica shotgun mic that I used to use with a DAT recorder that had phantom power, but now all my cables do not work with 1/8in cameras or devices. Thanks for any advice?

A: The LM100 is an impedance matching cable, low to high, while the other is not. If you are connecting to a line level input you will need the impedance matching cable, if you are connecting to a mic level input you will use the less expensive XLR to TRS cable.

Q: 9. if i connect my 100 ohm mic to my dslr 3.5 jack using this transformer, will the recorded sound still have around 100 ohm impedance?

A: This is an impedance matching transformer. It will convert your 100 ohm mic to approx. 2000-3000 ohms to match your cameras mic input. Recorded audio is not measured in impedance, but decibels.

Q: 10. Will a whole chain become unbalanced if I use this transformer in the end of line? For instants, Shotgun mic 25' of xlr balanced cable this Kopul transformer regular 3.5 mini Jack input in DLSR. Or unbalanced will be only this short adapter cable in the end?

A: The terminal signal becomes unbalanced when using this Kopul adapter.

[1.8 typical] I haven't checked the response curve, but it sounds clean and natural on all normal programs I have used. It's true that all small transformers like this one can saturate somewhere between 20Hz and a 100Hz, especially on line level signals. But the effect would be progressive the lower Hz you go, and the harmonics produced would be even, so some people might find it pleasant. The cool thing about this is how solid it is built, no batteries, multiple ins and outs, and it's light weight and compact for gear bags to go. It solves problems. 5

[2.125 lb] Our venue usually runs 4-5 IEM systems and 10 wireless microphone per set. Finding enough RF space in our coordination was next to impossible without intermods. [13 x 9.6 x 3.3"] I purchased this to replace an analog IEM antenna combiner that I was using on a Digital IEM platform that was having issues with dropouts and interference. The original (high-end professional) product had been recommended by another supplier, and I was skeptical that it would make any difference to replace as it was amplifying and combining the same signal. This combiner (made specifically with tuning to support Digital IEM's) instantly fixed all of the issues I had been chasing for months. The IEM's are now solid from hundreds of yards away, and no dropouts. This thing has saved my productions. 5

[2.125 lb] After researching a few different options for a combiner to help with some static / interference we were getting with our Sennheiser In-Ear Monitors - I decided to go with this unit. Since installing in our rack; we have had absolutely no static, no interference - it solved all of our issues! The ability for this unit to also power our units using the power over BNC connection is also a very nice surprise; taking up fewer valuable outlets in my power distribution. I'm quite pleased with this unit and very happy that I bought it. 5
