Have unprecedented precision control over the "sweet spot" of focus in your selective focus photos with the Lensbaby Composer Pro II Sweet 35 Micro Four Thirdsavailable here with a Micro Four Thirds mount. This updated tool is completely compatible with the established Optic Swap System and can use any of the numerous optics available. This version improves upon the original Pro model by featuring a metal body as well as an improved tilt function that ranges from 0-15° in any direction.

Bundled with it is the Sweet 35, the widest focal length of any Lensbaby selective focus optic. This curved field optic differs from your standard lens by creating a spot of focus when tilted that can be manipulated in position by tilting the Composer and manipulated in size by manually changing the aperture from f/2.5 to f/22. The optic also offers manual focus as close as 7.5" from your subject. Additionally, it has a 46mm filter thread as well as an internal 12-blade diaphragm for extra smooth out-of-focus areas.

Q: 4. Is this all you need to start using it with a nikon 810 or do I need another attachment

Q: 9. Is this lense compatible to the Canon Rebel t6i?

A: Yes, any of our Canon lenses will be compatible with your Canon Rebel series camera, including the Composer Pro II with Sweet 35.

Q: 10. I have a lensbaby sweet 56 and purchased it to create the effect of a sharp prime image with blur surrounding. It is a very nice lens, but it doesnt seem to do any more than my 50 mm normal. Open wide and shoot. Same effect. Is this lens any different as far as achieving a blur around the outside? Does it only allow you to move the sweet spot, yet still utilizing a wide open aperture to get the blurring effect? In other words, will my 50mm prime create the same effect? (Except, of course) the sweet spot movement.

A: We don't have a Sweet 56. We have a Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic (pictured here) or we have a Velvet 56 which is a stand alone lens. Two different products and effects. The Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic (pictured here) is 50mm, will give you a sweet spot of focus surrounded by a soft blur. Adjust the aperture for more or less of the soft blur. The Composer Pro II is optic swappable so you can take the Sweet 50 Optic out and put in a new optic for a new effect. It also has a ball-joint so you can move the sweet spot around your frame. If you have issues with a different lens of ours, feel free to reach out directly to Lensbaby and we're happy to help.

[Manual Focus] I already own the Lensbaby Composer Pro with Sweet 35 and Edge 80 Optics. It took some practice and getting used to; but once I did, I had a lot of fun with these lenses and took some great portraits with them. I was excited to hear about the Sweet 50, as it's a great portrait focal length, especially for those with APS-C cameras like I have, so added it to my collection.Remember, this lens is completely manual, so you may need to dial-in the focal length and aperture into your camera's menu settings so they they are recorded in the resulting file's metadata; and/or carefully watch the manual focus and exposure cues in your viewfinder/LCD display. The key is to slow down. But get those right, and the results are some lovely, narrow sweet spot focus (depth of field) with deliciously smooth bokeh falling away from it. It's not in the same league as the far more expensive prime lenses out there: there are some amazing pieces of glass that can do this too. But tilt the Lensbaby lens around and things really get fun, with different areas/planes of focus with some diorama effects.

[f/22] I use my Sweet 50 on a Scout body to do tabletop photography and have tried both #1 and #2 close up lenses with it for close work. Both combinations work well. I like the Sweet 35 also but the 50 gives me better separation from the b'ground. With the manual focus magnifier of my Pentax K-3 it works great.

[f/22] I am shooting this lens on my Leica M10R with an adapter ring. I can get reasonably sharp focus in the sweet spot but the best feature of this lens is the control of the bokeh and focus fall off creating beautiful dreamy artistic images. I wish I had purchased years ago!

[f/2.5] It helps to get the dreamy, crazy, oniric, mood. If you go beyond may even represent some kind of expanded perception that our minds create under effects of some substances.

[0.775 lb] Used the Sweet 35 to change up the shooting process and look at the studio in a different way. This was an update for me from the original lens baby. The fact that the optics can be changed is great. Easy to use and sharp images. Used with the Canon 5D MKIV.

[Manual Focus] I love this new lens! It's a great little art lens that allows for a spot of tack sharp focus surrounded by beautiful blur. The focus can moved around the frame by simply moving the lens on a ball joint. The Sweet 35 Optic can be removed from the Composer Pro ll and other optics added, so it's possible to switch between a Sweet 50 Optic, a Twist 60 Optic, and so on. I don't use this lens everyday, but it's a really fun lens that will add a whole new perspective to your photos. I'd recommend it.

[f/22] Having recently received the Composer Pro II with Sweet 50 Optic, I have only used it in a production situation once, and that was a low-light fast-moving event. Manually focusing in low light on moving bodies would be challenging with any lens, and of course the Lensbaby tilt system adds another dimension for the operator.
Obviously, these are specialty, special effects lenses, and they're not intended for action photography, but I did manage to get several pretty cool shots with the Lensbaby (on my Sony a6500), which I look forward to working on in Lightroom. (I won't post them here because I don't have permission from the subjects.)

I find the construction of the Composer II to be solid, the controls seem well-calibrated (and will take some practice to get muscle memory), and I love the look of the Sweet 50. I hope to get more optics; probably a Lensbaby Edge 35mm next, for a normal field of view on APS-C/Super35, and wide on full frame. I like that the optics can be purchased separately for relatively low cost when compared to the price of a whole new lens. I think I'll have fun with this system.
