Q: 1. Is the orca OR-52 the right size for sony FS5?

A: In consulting with the distributor, they have yet to test this with the Sony FS5. But it is my opinion that this will work satisfactorily as you intend. If not, there is the B&H 30 day return policy available to you.

A: I use the H-400. I have used it extensively and it really helps to block out light so the screen isn't washed out. IThe difference would totally depend on the size of your screen. I assume that the 350 is smaller. Better a little smaller than too big.

Q: 3. Does this fit the Sony FS5 viewfinder? Thanks!

A: I'm afraid not. This LCD Hood is designed for a 4:3 Monitor, the FS5 has a 3.5 16:9 screen. Instead you would want to look at B&H # HOHD350 which is for 16:9 3.5 screens.https://bhpho.to/2hg0mo6

Q: 4. I have a panasonic ag ac130 and need to be able to see the edges of the screen, will the 400 work? I have the 350 and it covers the edge of the lcd

A: The AC130 has a 3.45 /8.76cm screen. The Hoodman HD350 is for screens that are 3.5 /8.89cm. so normally we would say it should work. However, since it is not working for you then since the H-400 is meant for 3.5 to 4.0 / 8.9 to 10.2cm screens, it has a better chance of being acceptable for your purpose.

Q: 5. Will this work with the Sony HDR-550v?Does it also come with a screen magnifier?

A: It should. No magnifier. HD350 Hood is made for 16:9, adjusts with velcro straps around backside. If 550v has 16:9 viewing area--good to go! I had mine on panny x920. The screens are much alike, size/shape.

Q: 6. Hoodman 400 or 450 for JVC HC 500U?

A: There's about an extra centimeter of height but the Hoodman H-400 is still a solid option.

Q: 8. Will this hood fit on a Sony PXW-Z150 4K XDCAM Camcorder?

A: I've been using this hood on my Sony FS100U video screen for almost a year now, and I'm very happy with it. I film a lot of weddings, including outdoor ceremonies, and this screen hood does an excellent job of keeping the glare out of my screen. So, I think the FS100U shares a similar screen size to several other Sony professional video cameras, such as the PXW series -maybe. I suggest getting a ruler to measure the dimensions of your cameras' video screen and compare it to the specs for the Hoodman H-400 LCD hood. The good news is these LCD hoods tend to come in a variety of different sizes and the velcro straps make it easy to adjust its' fit around the screen. Let me know if this helps. Thanks. -David

A: While it would fit, it is formatted for 4x3 SD monitors. The Hoodman HD350 Video Hi-Def 16 x 9 LCD Camcorder Hood is a better choice, BH #HOHD350.

[0.275 lb] The LCD is very easy to put on my camera when I am on location. It's very efficient in allowing me to see clearly the details of the shot in the LCD It made well and compacts easily to store in my camera case. The price was reasonable 5

[0.275 lb] Most hoods and loupes are over-priced and ineffective, so many of us try DIY-ing, which is usually just more cheaply ineffective. This Orca hood is NOT expensive and has its elastic band attached to a plastic cable running around the base, instead of directly to the fabric. The cable seems to stabilize and spread the hood's point-of-contact further around the LCD screen, and the elastic band can slide to the diagonal if that helps to seat the hood on the screen. I use this hood on my Sony PXW-X70 (it was recommended in the camera's user group on FB). The X70 has a touch-screen focus/meter shift function, and this hood is relatively deep, so I use a pencil eraser to touch the screen and rack-focus when outdoors. So far, it's great. Little to no little light leak. Only caveat: the hood has Velcro patches inside it to flatten it for storage, and when mounting it, it takes a while to remind the corners they are meant to be squared. Storing it open in your camera bag with batteries and lens cleaning supplies inside it helps. 5
