The 16 x 16" LED Studio-In-a-Box from FotodioX is a self-contained setup for photographing small to medium objects. The Studio unfolds into a square light tent with its own 5600K daylight LED light source and reflective interior to fully envelop the subject. The Studio-in-a-Box has a fold-away front panel, top hatch, and multiple colored background options.

The Studio-In-A-Box is just as it sounds: a complete tabletop shooting environment for quick setup and professional results. The built-in array of daylight-balanced LEDs come with a removable diffusion panel for situations that need a softer atmosphere. Reflective surfaces on the tent's walls not only help to evenly spread light across the entire environment but also to keep unwanted light pollution from spilling into your frame. The front-facing wall of the Studio-In-A-Box can fully unzip, or use the top and side shooting flaps to get the optimal angle for your shot. A variety of color backdrops are included to provide proper contrast to your images, whether the subject be an exciting new product or a pristinely painted gaming miniature.

Minimal setup is required to get this all-in-one studio ready for shooting. Only a power connection is required to get up and running, free space that would otherwise be occupied by additional stands, lights, and modifiers. To further reduce the footprint of the Studio-In-A-Box, FotodioX has forgone packaging the unit with a carrying case. Instead, the tent folds up into its own convenient carrying platform with room for all of the included accessories. This is a truly mobile platform for shooting studio-grade photo and video in an instant.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can i photography my size 15 shoes inside? With the box?

A: This LED tent has various sizes if you pick one that is larger than your shoe it will work.

Q: 2. I want to photograph jewelry and gemstones, where accurate color is very important as well as the "sparkle" of the stones. I am trying to decide between the FotodioX that has 5600K and no dimmable lights and the Angler that has 5400K and dimmable lights. Any suggestions or input?

A: Both options you mentioned are good, but the Angler tent would be better in terms of control, since you can dim the lights. The accurate color can be handled through a custom white balance setting in your particular camera.

Q: 3. Is it possible to diffuse the lights if you use the top hatch for shooting?

A: The lights are inside the box. You could use a small bit of diffusion inside the box if you wanted taped over the lights. You could cut up a piece of Rosco Cinegel #3027 Filter - 1/2 Tough White Diffusion - 20x24" Sheet B&H # RO3027S with a pair of scissors for that purpose.

Q: 4. what happens when/if the LEDs fail?

A: It gets dark.

Q: 5. Any one with experience using the 16x16 for photographing live insects? I would be using a macro lens with extension tubes.

A: From the manufacturer. We would assume that this would work fine for macro photography, but we do not have any information first hand on this.Thank you

Q: 6. Can you change the interior, or part of it to black?

A: It comes with a black ground a Black so you can have Black

Q: 7. My FotodioX LED Studio-in-a-Box (28 x 28 ) came with handy scrim to diffuse the LED light source. Is is possible to order another?

A: Im not sure if you can buy one from B&H? I found that the one provided wasnt sufficient so I use my own home made scrim and just lay the LED lights on mine with the original under mine.

Q: 8. Does the power input support 220/230V sockets/voltage?

A: According to the manufacturer, the FotodioX LED Studio-In-a-Box (28 x 28") is only designed for use in the USA for 100-120V 60Hz AC voltage usage.  It would not be compatible for use on 220/230V 50Hz A/C electrical voltage.

Q: 9. I need to photograph small ceramic items 6x6x6, and 1x3x1/2. Is this a good, and easy option?

A: Yes, this tent is a good and easy option to use for photographing small items.

Q: 10. As far as the LED lighting, how many LED lights are in the box?

A: about 160 small LEDs in a square configuration around the hole you can see in the top side. Very happy with this item, better results than I expected. Light is quite even unless the object is within 10 of the top of the box where it understandably gets a little too bright. For 18 tall items and under it is great.

[21,200 Lux] Needed better pictures for handmade pottery on etsy. Definitely helped picture quality.

[21,200 Lux] Love it. Easy to set up, lighting is excellent, and I particularly like that it has a dimmer. I have very limited space and this set up allows me to leave it assembled in place. I should note it only takes literally less than a minute to set up, but I take photographs daily, so it's nice to just switch on the light & snap.

The only improvement I could think of is the way the included diffuser attaches to the box. It seems like it should fit on to the top portion of the box that hold the lights, but I couldn't get it to stick. The whole thing fits together using Velcro, & the diffuser & top seem to use the same side of the Velcro. I just stretched it over the sides & closed the top over it.

[21,200 Lux] so easy to use, unfolds into a flat pack in seconds. The parts feel stable and not flimsy like the Godox I tried before. The backdrops are packed not rolled so there are no dents. Definitely recommend this one over Godox.

[21,200 Lux] This light box provides even, quality lighting for items where background minimization is essential. I’m using it for photos for eBay listings and it really Harlow to streamline my work; much less post processing. The construction of this light box is solid, and the light quality is consistent.
