Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you purchase the "bare" case, then later, a foam insert kit of one variety or another?

A: Yes, the Nanuk 918 can be bought empty (as seen on this page) and outfitted with inserts later on. These various options are available directly via the manufacturer, Nanuk.

Q: 2. Can the foam insert set be ordered on its own? I have this case with the lid organizer and dividers, but would like to convert it to house my cinema lenses. It would be great to have the foam as an alternate setup. Thanks so much.

A: Yes, the foam insert for the Nanuk 933 Hard Case can be ordered separately on Nanuk's website: https://bhpho.to/3M46iwc

Q: 3. I see overall interior height is listed as 6.9", but any info on the height of the padded dividers insert alone?

A: The dimensions of the Padded Divider Set for Nanuk 930 are 18 x 12.5 x 5 in.

Q: 4. Is the Nanuk 933 case stackable on the 930 case?

A: The Nanuk 933 Case can be stacked with the Nanuk 930 Case.

Q: 5. Will this fit Xeen cine lenses?

A: Unfortunately the Xeen lenses similar to the following: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1171028-REG/rokinon_xn50_c_xeen_50mm_t1_5_lens.html are going to be slightly too big for these custom cuts. Those Xeen lenses are right around 4.6" in diameter and the largest lens the custom cut can take is a 4". If you need a case for the Xeen lenses, I would recommend the following case: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1352762-REG/rokinon_xncase_co_xeen_6_lens_carry_on_case.html/overview

Q: 6. Can this case fit any sigma cinema zoom or prime lenses?

A: It is possible to fit Sigma Cinema Prime Lenses in this case, but it may be too shallow for the Sigma Cinema Zoom lenses.

Q: 7. Can this fit Zeiss Otus "28mm", which has a wider diameter? Thanks.

A: Yes it will. You could place multiple of that lens in this case.

Q: 8. Would small cinema lenses with 95mm front outer diameter fit ?

A: Each hole is roughly 4 inches in diameter (100mm) and they taper down to about 3 inches (76mm). If you have some lenses that are larger than 4 inches I would recommend either the foam insert version https://bhpho.to/3eztYYT or the divider version: https://bhpho.to/36Rfyil The Divider version is more adaptable in case you change which lenses or other accessories you might be carrying.

Q: 9. Does the size meet airline limits for carry-on luggage?

A: The Nanuk 933 Case is 46 linear inches in size which exceeds more airline carry on limits. Most airlines enforce 45 linear inches or smaller.

Q: 10. How much does this case weigh?

A: The weight of this case is 7lbs.

[Latch] I use this as my mobile photo studio kit! I have a 90D camera with a 18-55mm, 18-135mm, 70-300mm, 24mm, 50mm, DJI Mavic Mini 2, DJI Ronin-SC, Osmos 3, 2 Aperture Lights, NRG Battery Bank, Tools and Cleaning kits. Very rugged design and I trust all my equipment with this case!! Have not tried it on the airline plans past TSA but the Nanuk Company has very cool locks for it.

[Latch] Well built case. The lid organizer is held in with two screws+velco, which is way better than those without screws. Typical Nanuk quality

[Yes] My second Nanuk to compliment my SKB line of hard cases and a Total Thanks to Nanuk for assisting me finally getting this Special Order case to my front door. It was delayed due to a supply chain issue with the liner which B&H never seemed to be able to get that information. I contacted Nanuk directly and the issue was resolved within a few days. Nanuk's customer service is excellent to say the least...B&H was as helpful as they could be as well...

[Latch] I bought the Nanuk 933 case to house my Aquatech underwater housing for my DSLR. After some careful planning, I was able to configure the pluck-apart foam to protect the housing and several ports. Nanuk's optional case lid organizer is a great way to keep small parts from getting lost. This is not my first Nanuk case. Based on Nanuk's quality and performance it will also not be my last.

[Latch] I use it for my film cameras and accessories. Threw in a few silica bags, just in case.

The case looks and feels like a great quality product. I do not use it for travel, therefore can't comment on how well it takes the beating in different conditions.

The only downside I see right now is when you start closing the lid from the fully open position, it takes some effort to begin closing it but at some point, the heavy lid starts falling down. You should keep that in mind otherwise it may hurt your hand(s)/fingers. I have another brand case and this is not the issue with the other one. But the plastic on the other case doesn't feel as high quality as the Nanuk's does.

The internal padding and the lid organizer are great.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

[Handle] I do real estate photography. For me, this includes Matterport virtual tours, still photography, videography, and aerial video/photography.

My Matterport camera has a custom cutout Nanuk 930 case. Quite nice and serves the purpose well.

However, for photography, video, and drone/aerial stuff, I was carrying a 930 case for my Nikon D850 camera w/18-35mm lens (and several other lenses), and a Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW for my drone.

Aerial photos are requested on EVERY listing. So nonstarter, I bring my drone to every engagement.

I wanted to consolidate down to two cases. For real estate photography, I only ever need the 18-35mm. So was looking for something to hold Nikon/18-35mm plus drone.

Nanuk offers a case for a DJI Mavic Pro drone, but that does not accommodate the iPad nor the MavMount holder for my iPad, and certainly not the Nikon +18-35mm.

The other 930 I had would not accommodate the Nikon plus drone.

Looking at my options, I ended up purchasing the Nanuk 933 w dividers and lid organizer. (see attached photo). The extra depth of the 933 enabled me to pack all the gear I needed.

The 933 w dividers allows me to segment the case to accommodate the aerial stuff I need, plus the, Nikon plus the 18-35mm, plus stow the iPad in the lid. For me, the optimal solution.

As a weird aside, pay attention to the pricing for the 933. The yellow w/ dividers and lid organizer is $341, whereas the orange is $202. Then there are intermediary prices depending on color. Fortunately for me, I was fine with the orange (though would have preferred yellow).

I now have 5 Nanuk cases in various configurations. As such, I can mix and match depending on the requirement. The net is that I have total confidence that the Nunuk case will protect my very expensive gear. I won't travel without it.
