Molded of LMDP Linear Medium Density Polyethylene plastic that meets or exceed MIL-STD 810G standards and includes 8 elastomeric shock absorbers which allows a standard payload range of 40 to 150 pounds. The 3RS Series Static Shock Racks are available in 24" or 30" deep from rail to rail with a standard 19" rack width per ANSI/EIA-310-C specification and feature square-hole rack rails to accommodate either #10-32 US standard, or 6 mm International standard cage nuts which are supplied with the cases.
The rugged roto-molded shell ensures industry leading strength and impact resistance. The standard COTS (commercial off the shelf) case comes with a 2" deep front lid and a 5" deep rear lid to accommodate rack gear that is longer than 24", and edge casters to allow convenient case transport. Molded-in stacking ribs and lugs are designed to stack with competitive manufacturers cases. Black powder coated stainless steel hardware are recessed for protection is standard as well as 8 comfort grip spring loaded lift handles which allow for easy movement. An automatic pressure relief valve is another standard feature along with gasket sealed lids that include convenient lid hangers to store your lids when your equipment is in operation. Coupling straps are included for securing the racks together when stacked.

Q: 1. is it also water resist?

A: The canvas bag is fairly heavy duty ... so it could with stand a little bit of moisture ... i.e. walking from vehicle to building in rain ... but I certainly wouldn't leave it anywhere it could get wet for any length of time since it stores electronics. It is not coated or treated for water resistance.

Q: 2. Can you remove the wheels from the rack and put them back again? The reason I am asking is because I will have the put the rack on a table and it wouldn't look good with the wheels below it. It would be great to be able to remove them while we use it and to put them back on when we are done using it.

A: Yes, this does have removeable casters.

Q: 3. Will this fit the standard 19" rack mount equipment?

A: Yes, the SKB 8U Roto Rolling Rack Case can be used with standard 19" rackmount equipment.

Q: 4. Does the measurement go from front mount to rear? Is there a little bit of room for my 4U rack to mount in front and stick out an inch or two in the back? Thanks

A: The total depth available on the SKB 4U Roto Rack Case rack (without front and back covers) is 17.6 . Whether or not your equipment would fit will depend on whether or not the piece of gear in question exceeds this dimension.

Q: 5. I want to confirm that a PC chassis that is 21.57" deep will in fact fit in this case with the lids closed?

A: It wll not. The case is for equipment that is up to 20 inches deep.

Q: 6. Where can I find front and rear recessed steel twist latches mechanism? we bought two of these 12U cases in April 2021. Each cover latches are not holding to main case keeper anymore. They just come loose when in transport or move between building. So frustrating. Thanks

A: I would recommend contacting customer support at SKB and making them aware of the issue with the latches not holding the covers securely. The case is still under warranty. SKB does have replacement parts and may be able to offer an option for a different type latch, possibly with a lock to prevent the covers from becoming loose during transport. As an additional option for extra security, you may want to use a strap or bungee cord wrapped around the exterior and running through the side handles. A: No, the SKB 3SKB-R10U20W Roto Shockmount Rolling Rack Case 20" Deep (10 RU) does not offer any dedicated storage compartments in its lid covers. A: 10-32 We are making use of Extra-Wide Truss Head Phillips screws ( Passivated 18-8 Stainless Steel, 10-32 Thread, 3/4 Long).

Q: 10. I'm considering this case for a Dell 24 computer monitor (P2415Q). Will it accommodate the attached stand and base?

A: Yes, it should not be a problem. We use it for a Lenova All-In-One 23 inch PC which has a stand with a wider base than the Dell monitor and it fits fine. Plenty of room for accessories also. The interior foam allows for a great deal of individualization.
