Power your camera continually, and without interruption, with the Tether Tools ONsite Relay Camera Power Systemfrom Tether Tools. Equipped with a built-in 7.4V, 1,200mAh lithium battery and a 5 VDC input via USB, this system will provide power, while being connected to an external power source for a nearly constant source. When connected to a 2A USB battery pack or an AC adapter, the ONsite Relay can still be able to provide a constant supply of power to your camera, and thanks to the internal battery the system will support hot swapping of external power sources. An LED indicator light will shift from green to yellow to red to show battery percentage so that you will not accidentally lose power during a long time lapse or video production. This system is compatible with numerous camera systems through the use of a separately available coupler. This coupler fits into the battery compartment of your camera and acts as a dummy battery to supply power.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When camera/coupler/Tether Tool is operating, suggestions of how to keep battery drain from exceeding the simultaneous charging? I have found it will not do both at the same time. Thanks.

A: It works for me. Keep in mind you have to use a power bank or charger that outputs at least 2 amps (the one i use is 2.1 amps). I tried with a power bank that only outputs 1 amp initially and that gave me the same problem as you have.

Q: 2. How long is the cable between the relay and the camera including the adapter cable?

A: It's about 4 feet. The adapter cable is about 1ft. with the relay cable being about 3ft.

Q: 3. What size is the DC output jack?

A: The connection is 5521, which means 5.5mm outside diameter and 2.1mm inside diameter.

Q: 4. How much does this item weigh?

A: 25g for the coupler and 114g for the battery.

Q: 5. Will it work on my Canon 5DSR? And how long is the wire/cable if I will connect from camera to power outlet?

A: Yes. The Tether Tools ONsite Relay Camera Power System Kit with Coupler for Canon Cameras with LP-E6 Battery is compatible with the Canon 5DSR camera and the cable is about 40 inches long.

Q: 6. Does this come with the AC adapter?

A: No, the Case Relay Power System does not come with an AC adapter.

Q: 7. I bought this product and used it 5 or 6 times on an A7s and connected it to a Vlock battery with a 2.1 Amp USB port. When using the A7s the battery inside the case relay runs down and eventually the camera shuts off. In other words, it doesn't work for me. But if I turn the camera off the Vlock charges the Case Relay battery. It would appear the camera uses power quicker than the Vlock battery can charge the Case Relay battery. My question is am I doing it wrong? What can I do to make it work like it is advertised?

A: This is a quirk - you have to unplug the power pack from the relay and replug. The relay will indicate it is charging. If this fails, unplug from the dummy and replug. It will catch and function properly from then on. Not intuitive.

Q: 8. Can this item connect to the ronin m usb and power a sony a7sii safely?

A: The short answer to your question is I've got no clue . But that said, I use mine on my Nikon D810 and it works great. Great to keep it powered for long duration time-lapse shots.

Q: 9. Does this Case Relay include the CRUPS110 adapters including the Nikon 4 pin adapter?

A: The $99.99 price includes only the power system. You can select the correct adapter for your camera, and the package will include it at additional cost.

Q: 10. How to power shogun recorder that uses Sony L series batts?

A: Hi there. I bought the kit for my Sony a6300 which uses NP FW50 battery, a much smaller battery in size as compared to the L-series battery. I am not sure if TetherTools make the same thing for L-series battery. Best way is to check with TetherTools direct. Good Luck.

[0.54 lb] I used this for my videography project especially during the ceremony where I need to use an external battery for extra duration. It works perfectly! Definitely a real life saver when you can just leave the camera rolling at all time.

[Lithium] Who woulda thought of such a simple camera UPS system using consumer USB batteries?! This so perfect for long events and timelapses. I only wish that the Sony mirrorless cameras would record for longer than 30 minutes at a time and it would be a totally hands-off long recording setup. The only problem I ran into was that the a7sii we used it with would sometimes incorrectly detect its battery being almost depleted and wouldn't allows us to format the next card to use. So we had to turn off the camera, take out the dummy battery, put in a normal battery, turn on, format, turn off, take out the normal battery, etc. but hey. It's a third party universal power item. Can't expect it to work perfectly with every single brand :-)

[7.6 x 7 x 1.45"] Bought it and tested it over a week, works well. Overall good purchase.

[7.6 x 7 x 1.45"] Needed to set up a D500 so a presenter could record 2 half hour presentations a day for 2 weeks without me being there. We did a couple of dry runs and I realized I didn't want the be swapping batteries every day. That required 4 of my 7 EN-EL15 batteries, 2 in the body-grip and 2 charging, plus me stopping by every day and the chance of accidently changing focus or framing. Nikon was out of stock for their AC adapter and I really didn't want to put a $25 power supply in my camera unattended for 2 weeks. Found this from Tether Tools and decided it was what I wanted. Worked great, used a 3 amp USB charger to power it up and just left it. Checked it when I swapped drives in the recorder but never did anything to it, worked great. I did gaff tape the connection to the battery adapter just in case, something better than a barrel connector would be nice since if it got yanked on everything would stop.

[8 VDC, 2 A] I use this for long timelapse sequences of 3-5 hours or more. The ability to change external battery sources is a great benefit. The product is light weight and durable.

[0.54 lb] Those small batteries in the Panasonic G85 cause nervousness, high blood pressure and panic attacks when you are recoding an extended presentation. Will the small battery die before the presentation is over? Now I can supply power to camera from a high capacity USB battery pack or AC.

[Lithium] Coupled with the camera appropriate cable, this system works great. If you do long time-lapses it is a must have. If your external power-pack is running low simply switch it to a new one without the camera losing power. I'm probably going to pick up another system for my wife's camera.
