[None] If you have images with earth tones or a little yellow or gold, you should try this Hahnemuhle Metallic Canvas to let those colors present themselves differently from "plain" canvas. I started making "Digital Paintings in 1998 and was introduced to a glossy finished canvas by a local printer. He was good enough to give me pointers on making my own prints and I quickly realized that the image media is very important. I exhibit my work 3 or 4 times per year, and I strive to produce photography that mimics paintings while a colleague of mine makes paintings that mimic photography! As a painter, it seams you might have more latitude to make your image present the way you want, but as a photographer, it is more difficult. Being able to print my Digital Paintings on canvas is wonderful, but using this special metallic canvas gives my artwork a look and feel of something definitely not photographic.

[370 gsm] I've only printed a couple of black and white prints on my Epson p800, but I love how they turned out. The canvas is very thick and has a nice metallic/pearl look to it.

[None] I agree with others, this canvas is fantastic, great for brightly colored scenes like fall color's. The 10’ test roll is enough to get an opinion but not enough to say it’s the only go to canvas. I will buy the large roll.

[7] We are so pleased with this Canvas. It was a little more expensive than the Epson Canvas we typically purchase, but believe the quality is worthwhile.

[7] I purchased a short roll of the Hahnemuhle paper, hoping to get metallic like effects for an upcoming show I am doing. OK - the big disappointment? I don't see anything vaguely metallic in the output.



However - and this is what I will call the Shyamalan Twist....it it is amazing paper. I am blown away by the beauty of the prints that are coming out. The profiles are dead-on and it is exactly what the doctor ordered. The paper is a bit pricier than my normal alternatives - but I am going to say that it may just be worth it. Its that good.

[7] The 10 ft sample roll was enough for 1-2 prints. Due to the pressure striping you lose 3-5 feet at the end, but I got enough to see the sheen. It's a spendy product but a great look and easy to stretch.

[Matte] Canvas has a slight metallic sheen that is more visible in lighter areas. Side by side comparison with Epson's exhibition canvas gloss, it is slightly more reflective.By reflective I mean it displays that metallic sheen. Weight is much less making it a bit more prone to tearing while stretching if not careful. I had to grind the corner off my pliers to lessen this potential. The real redeeming quality for me is the tough as nails finish. No liquid laminate required. It has rich color and a beautiful, uniform finish on a stretched frame, especially without a laminate applied. My first 10' test roll had roll marks every 8 on the last 4 feet of canvas making that portion useless. Still printing on the first 39' roll. Hopefully that problem will not be present. I like this canvas and will buy more. The price is high but not having to laminate makes it very attractive.

[87%] I would recommend this paper for color prints. It makes everything look like a museum piece.
