  • Wide Tuning Bandwidth: The system features a wide 75 MHz bandwidth covering three Lectrosonics 25 MHz frequency blocks and providing up to 3072 total frequencies—selectable in 25 or 100 kHz tuning steps on the receiver. The wide bandwidth allows you to simultaneously operate up to 30 wireless mics on a set, while giving you added frequency flexibility in an increasingly crowded and shrinking RF spectrum.
  • Digital Hybrid Wireless Technology: The L Series combines the best aspects of digital and analog systems without using a compander, eliminating the artifacts (known as "pumping" and "breathing") created by the analog compander found in traditional wireless systems. The system encodes the audio at 24-bit/88.2 kHz and sends the information via an analog UHF wireless link. The result is pristine and nuanced digital audio along with the increased range, battery life, and reliability of analog UHF systems.
  • SmartDiversity: Microprocessor-controlled antenna phase combining is used for diversity reception. The firmware analyzes incoming RF signals at each of the receiver's two antennas and selects the cleanest one, improving range and resistance to dropouts.
  • Tracking Front-End RF Filters: The LR receiver employs tracking front-end filters to block interference from high-powered RF signals on nearby channels, preserving the operating range.
  • SmartSquelch: This DSP-based algorithm optimizes the receiver's performance for noiseless muting in very weak signal conditions.
  • DSP-Based Pilot Tone: The system uses a DSP-generated ultrasonic pilot tone at specific frequencies to reliably mute the audio when no RF carrier is present.

  • The HMa attaches to any dynamic or condenser microphone equipped with an XLR connector. It is equipped with a spring-loaded connector ensuring your mic doesn’t detach at a critical moment.
  • Phantom power is selectable at 5, 15 and 48V, accommodating a variety of condenser mics—including lavaliers. Power can be turned off when using dynamic microphones or line-level signal sources.
  • The transmitter features a 50 or 100mW selectable RF output option for an extended range up to 350'. The 100mW setting boosts the RF output, providing 15 to 20% additional range in crowded environments at the expense of only 15 to 20% of the battery life.
  • The adjustable low-frequency roll-off filter can be set for a 3 dB down point at 35/50/70/100/120/150 Hz to control subsonic and very-low-frequency audio content in the audio.
  • The HMa responds to remote commands from either the dedicated Lectrosonics RM remote unit or the LectroRM app for iOS/Android tablets and smartphones (both available separately).
  • The DSP-controlled, dual-envelope input limiter handles signal peaks over 30 dB above full modulation, allowing the HMa to pick up loud signal peaks without distortion—even when your acting talent goes from a whisper to a shout.
  • Membrane switches and an LCD interface on the side panel provide full access to all operational parameters and advanced features.
  • An LED indicator on the top panel and a bar graph indicator on the LCD display allow precise gain adjustments for maximum signal-to-noise ratio and minimum distortion.
  • The rugged housing is machined from a solid and lightweight aluminum block. A non-corrosive finish resists salt water exposure and perspiration in extreme environments.

  • The backlit, adjustable, daylight-readable LCD display shows important details at a glance, providing instant, clear information for set up and status.
  • The SmartTune function automatically scans the RF spectrum for you, making it easy to quickly find clean frequencies on location.
  • The IR sync function easily syncs the receiver with the transmitter, transferring frequency and compatibility-mode information.
  • The receiver is equipped with a SmartNR noise-reduction algorithm, which removes hiss without sacrificing the audio frequency response.
  • The two detachable antennas can be substituted with swiveling or remote antennas (both available separately). The LR is housed in a rugged, machined-aluminum chassis featuring an ultra-hard, ebENi conductive finish.
  • The LR’s TA3 audio output jack provides user-selectable balanced or unbalanced audio, variable in 1 dB steps from mic to line level.
  • Output cables include a TA3 to XLR-M cable for XLR-equipped cameras or recording devices, and a TA3 to 3.5mm TRS cable for DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
  • The included shoe adapter makes it easy to mount the LR onto a camera, with all controls readily accessible.

  • Transmitter and receiver are powered with two AA batteries
  • Receiver can also be powered via an optional LTBATELIM battery eliminator that replaces the hinged battery door
  • 5 hours of battery life without phantom and 3.5 hours with 48V phantom
  • USB port on each unit allows for easy firmware updates
  • Adding an LT or LMb bodypack transmitter with a lavalier mic to this system provides a discreet solution for hands-free interview and talent miking

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use this with a SRa receiver

A: So long as your SRa receiver has the same frequency ranges as the LMb transmitter, the LMb transmitter will work with an SRa receiver.

Q: 2. Does it come with the TA3 to XLR cable?

A: No

Q: 3. Which countryman mic works with the transmitter. LS or LT?

A: Any mic that termnates at a TA5 female connector with work.

Q: 4. Can you sync multiple transmitters (up to 4) with one receiver?

A: No, the Lectrosonics L Series ZS-LRLT Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System has a single-channel receiver so it can be used with only one transmitter at a time.

Q: 5. Can you have one transmitter going to multiple receivers?

A: Yes, that is possible, you just need to have the receivers tuned to the same channel and frequency band.

Q: 6. is this compatible with Zoom F8N?

A: This wireless receiver can be connected to an input of the Zoom F8N digital recorder, but it does require to be paired with the L Series LT Bodypack Wireless Transmitter (A1: 470 to 537 MHz), BH #LELTA1.

Q: 7. Will this frequency (A1: 470.100-537.575 MHz) still be legal after FCC's spectrum auction is all done? Does this frequency require license to operate?

A: Yes! The remaining TV band will be 470-612MHZ. You can use these frequencies without a license subject to the new rules governing Un-licensed devices. If you are an un-licensed user I suggest reading the FCC document that explains what you are up a against. It's a bit too much to explain in this particular forum.

Q: 8. It is possible to combine a Lectrosonics L-Series LMb (B1: 537 to 614 MHz) with a UCR 411A?

A: Yes, the LMb transmitter can be used with all Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless receivers including the UCR411a when the compatibility mode for the transmitter and receiver are both set to the "Nu Hybrid" compatibility mode. Lectrosonics notes that if your receiver does not have Nu Hybrid mode, then set the receiver to the "Euro Digital Hybrid Wireless" compatibility mode.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the HMa plug on? I notice a lot of guys are still using the 411a receiver. Is there a big difference?

A: Yes, the LR receiver is compatible with the HMa plug-on transmitter. B&H # LEHMAA1 is the version for this particular receiver's frequency band (A1: 470 to 537 MHz). There are some differences in features between the two receivers such as a wider 75 MHz tuning bandwidth for the LR vs a 25.6 MHz tuning bandwidth for the 411a.

Q: 10. I can see the small size and the digital membranes on both rec and trans; who would be interested in this set? What is special about this set that is not offered in other Lectro gear?

A: The new Lectrosonics L series kit is a more affordable solution for the DSLR and small video camera market. The 3 frequency bands available cover multiple blocks which allow for more flexibility in areas of use. The kit also includes all the accessories necessary to mount and connect to cameras. These would have to be purchased separately with Lectro's other series of products.

[3.45 lb] Bought this wireless lavalier microphone system for a presentation. It worked exactly as advertised. The sound was clean, clear, and had plenty of volume to spare. As was noted in other reviews, the tie clip comes loose fairly easily, but a small piece of scotch tape worked great. It was a breeze to setup, and extremely simple to use. Our school will be using it for a while.

[Aluminum] It is a little pricey depending on your budget but I shoot a lot of football games & mic up coaches & play by play announcers. I've had a lot of problems with other mics in the past cutting out when there's a lot of people between me & the person miced up. So far this has preformed really well, not cutting out or dropping audio. I also like you can switch between power output from 50mw to 100mw. They do eat up batteries like crazy, especially outside in the cold!

[1x Internal] This is as good as it gets for a professional quality wireless system. This is the 4th system I have purchased over the years and have used Lectrosonics gear for over 15 years and have never once been disapointed in their products. The signal is always crisp and clean. They are also very flexable with well thought out menues and features. They are very rugged, have used them rain, snow, below zero temps, and above 100 degree weather. Have dropped them from over a meter with no ill effects. You just can't beat the quality, performance and reliablity.
I highly recomend this and other Lectrosonics products.

[Camera-Mount] I purchased this to replace an analog IEM antenna combiner that I was using on a Digital IEM platform that was having issues with dropouts and interference. The original (high-end professional) product had been recommended by another supplier, and I was skeptical that it would make any difference to replace as it was amplifying and combining the same signal. This combiner (made specifically with tuning to support Digital IEM's) instantly fixed all of the issues I had been chasing for months. The IEM's are now solid from hundreds of yards away, and no dropouts. This thing has saved my productions.

[3.45 lb] If you can handle it’s larger size, the Lmb is the best 50mw transmitter in the market. Greatly exceeds similar priced sennheiser 500 series transmitters in range.

[Smart Diversity] These work just fine. Have used them in Manhattan for PA use in panel discussions and the like with no problems. This is notable because of all the RF in the air here. I now have 5 of these units, including 4 lavaliers and 1 handheld. They have all worked fine right out of the box. I have not used them at their full maximum spec. range of 300ft, but 75ft has been no problem, even through one wall. Some have commented that their construction seems flimsy, but in my experience they are built well enough, especially considering their performance at a fraction of the price of other brands. And I have seen several wedding bands that use them exclusively. The fact that these are frequency agile is a big plus, as you can mix mikes and base units within their band (units are fixed to either C or D band in the US), and choose from 16 channels per band. Biggest complaint, by far, is that the foam windscreen is easy to lose, so maybe get some extras - they can be found cheaply enough - or find a way to fix the windscreen to the mike. BTW the replacement plug-in mikes are quite inexpensive, and I've used these quite successfully to replace mikes on Shure SLX body packs.

[Camera-Mount] I'm just getting started with these after using Sennheisers for a few years. I'd had experience with Lectrosonics in the past and remembered how great they were. These are no different. Very easy to set up and use. I'm still tweaking mine some but almost perfect right out of the box. Very well built. I'm used to interference creeping in with the Sennheisers, not with these. Strong signal all the time.
