The waterproof and fogproof Burris Optics 4.5-14x42 Fullfield E1 Riflescope MOA SFPfrom Burris Optics 4.5-14x42 Fullfield E1 Riflescope MOA SFPfeatures a Long-Range MOA Reticle, index-matched Hi-Lume multi-coated optics, a quick zoom eyepiece and a shock-resistant single-piece maintube. The Hi-Lume index-matched anti-reflection coatings deliver high light transmission, improve visibility in low-light conditions, and reduce glare and ghost images. Among other optical performance highlights are a 4.5-14x zoom and a 3.1-3.8" long eye relief. To compensate for ballistics and wind drift, the riflescope offers a 40 MOA windage and elevation range with a 1/4 MOA impact point correction. Located in the second focal plane is the Long-Range MOA Reticle. It features three short, medium-weight suspended posts and a heavily populated thin crosshair with bar-shaped markings at 1 MOA intervals. The crosshair spans 40 MOA top-to-bottom and left-to-right and together with posts offers clean and unobtrusive views of your targets.

The waterproof and fogproof housing features a single-piece aluminum maintube with a hard anodized matte black finish. The eyepiece offers a quick zoom and focus, which allow for fast target acquisition. The knurled zoom ring provides a fast adjustment.

          Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this lens be used with adaptor for canon R mount or Leica Sl2 mount ?

A: Yes the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens for Canon EF can be adapted to a Canon RF mount camera or Leica L mount camera.

Q: 2. How would using an optical shift lens (like this one) compare to using perspective crop in photoshop with a wider lens like the Laowa 11mm? I'm asking because they're about the same price but the 11mm could be more versatile and I don't trust myself to perfectly frame photos in the field.

A: Though the 11mm would be a wider view, the distortion would be an issue and harder to work with in post. I would recommend the 15mm Zero-D especially if you are doing interiors due to the fact that if you need a wider view, you can stitch two images and it would still be easier than using the 11mm and trying to correct properly.

Q: 3. Does this produce optical flare? I found other bulbous lenses have issues with flare in the form of colored spots opposite strong light sources.

A: Flaring can occur when using the lens aimed or directly hit by a focused light source at certain angles, but the flare is managed quite well compared to other lenses as the lens has an anti-reflective coating also helps to control flare and ghosting for heightened contrast and color rendering. If the light source is in the frame, flare is controlled rather well. If the flare is on the edge of the frame, it may be more noticeable, but can usually be reduced/eliminated by slightly recomposing the framing of your image.

          Q: 4. Is this lens adaptable to a GH5?

A: Unfortunately, this lens cannot be adapted to the Panasonic GH5.

Q: 5. Can this lens be used with the Laowa Magic Format Converter for Canon EF to Fuji GFX?

A: Yes, the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens for Canon EF would be compatible for use with the Venus Optics Laowa Magic Format Converter for Canon EF to Fuji GFX.

Q: 6. the teleconverters do work on the canon 17mm, 24mm tilt shift lenses so are you saying they do not work on the Laowa?

A: Canon only recommends the use of their teleconverters on specific L-series telephoto lenses, and attempting to connect them to a lens for which it is not designed may damage the front element on the teleconverter, the rear element on the lens, or both. We cannot test and cannot confirm if the Canon teleconverter may be used with this lens. If you own a Canon teleconverter, you may try to test it at your own risk, but do note that damage to either item would not be covered by either Canon or Venus Optics.

Q: 7. It appears from the description that this lens is not a true tilt/shift lens, only a shift lens. How is this even useful?

A: This Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift lens does not offer tilt options; it is, as the name implies, a shift lens only. It's a specialty lens used for certain effects.

Q: 8. Does this lens, come with a protective hood ?

A: No, the Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens for Nikon F does not come with a lens hood. Venus Optics did not design a lens hood for use with this lens. That being said, the lens does come with an all-metal thick protective front lens cap to protect the lens during storage/transit.

Q: 9. Is this a zero stop scope?

A: Yes, Vortex Golden Eagle HD 15-60x52 Riflescope (ECR-1 MOA Reticle) is a zero stop scope.

Q: 10. What power is the bdc reticle calibrated for ?

A: The MFR needs to be contacted for this answer.

[1.65 lb] I just unboxed a new Burris and I am very impressed with it. My friend has two of these and I hope mine work as great as his.

[Multicoated] Great scope very clear! Need to mount flat though. Not a 20 MOA base or you will run out of adjustment.

[1"] This scope has all the qualities for a long distance shooter as well as for in the woods with heavy brush. Magnification is so extreme I had no problems seeing the door slide latch on my brother's deer tower stand at 538 yards! (Had to buy a rangefinder for use with this scope, LOL!!!) Glad I purchased and very pleased that I can see before the sun rises good because of the bigger lense. With 20x zoom I can just about see an animals blood type LOL!!!

[4.5 to 14x] I bought this scope two months ago, so still early in its use, but have used it most days since.

I am using it on .223 Remington for target and vermin.

1. Very clear glass.
2. Good reticle.
3. Appears well made.
4. The lifetime warranty was a no brainier.

[42 mm] I’m a full time hunting guide. I hunt as many as 60 + clients a year. I’ve done this for over 20 years. I started using the e1 full field 3 years ago and the scope has worked like a machine ! Reliable always, I’ve backed clients up with ease long and short ranges. I don’t use this scope every now and then I use this every week to every day, it lives outside with me always ready for action bumping around on the can am, still I’ll pull it out and hit a coyote at 300 yards.

[Multicoated] Great features. Edge to edge clear glass with parallax focusing. Just what my aging eyes needed. The custom knobs feature is also an awesome deal. I called to see if I could get a basic factory moa exposed elevation turret as I am developing loads and customer service “looked to check their inventory”, then just took my address and mailed it out. I am really coming to like the E1 Ballistic Plex reticle as it is easy to use and not too cluttered or confusing.

[Yes] This scope is of solid build and adequate features which make it perfect for short to long range hunting; especially when durability is needed at a fair price point. It is lighter weight than others. Doesn't have a bunch of unnecessary business going on with it. Glass is clear, easily maintainable, and holds up to environmental dust/debris. Turrets are solid and exposed for quick field access. Held a zero through weeks of backcountry hunting and hundreds of short-magnum rifle shots. MOA reticle allows for guestimations and good ranging measurements. Has plenty of turret adjustment for reaching out to 1400+ yrds when using magnum calibers and 10-20 MOA bases.

Could use capped turrents for static hunting. Would like to see this reticle with a MOA center dot instead of stantard "intersection" crosshairs.

[4.5 to 14x] Nice , looks good, and the adjustment feel solid. Awesome reticle design, very helpful.
I put it on a GGS custom .308 Savage . Sighted, and set the zero @ 300yds. (per reticle design) Very consistent. After a few trips , it has held the zero. I am a fan of Burris.
