The Pelican 1600TP Case with TrekPak Divider System Black(Black) is an unbreakable, watertight, airtight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof hard case used to carry any kind of equipment that needs protection. It is made of Ultra-high Impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. It has a 0.25" (6.4 mm) neoprene o-ring, 4 easy-open double throw latches that seal perfectly. It has a built-in automatic pressure equalization valve for changes in altitude or temperature. The case uses stainless steel hardware and has padlock protectors to provide added strength and extra security against cutting and theft. It is carried by a comfortable rubber over-molded handle.

Besides being lighter than traditional padded dividers, the TrekPak Divider System and uses pre-installed wall sections, divider panels, locking pins, and an easy-to-use cutting tool. Simply lay your gear in the case, measure and cut the divider sections, and lock them in place with the steel U-pins. Extra divider material is included for occasions where your equipment requirements vary. 7/16" thick divider sections are made of waterproof, closed cell foam that is laminated to a rigid, corrugated plastic panel that resists tearing and shredding. The TrekPak is combined with 1" bottom foam and lid foam to give your gear 360-degree protection.

Q: 1. Whilst I am confident of the durability of the case itself, is the foam enough padding to protect DSLRs and lens from rough handling at an airport? Eg if the case was thrown/dropped by baggage handlers, will camera bodies and lens be unaffected?

A: Yes this would protect the equipment inside very well, I would recommend leaving roughly 1-2 inches of foam around the outside just for peace of mind, but I have had no issues with any of my equipment being damaged with these rolling through airports.

Q: 2. What are the interior dimensions of the laptop pouch?

A: It is a soft case made from stretchy material like a wet suit material. I would not try to fit a laptop larger than 17 inches. If you go any larger than that it crowds the other pouches.

Q: 3. does Pelican 1560 series meets FAA Carry On regulation ??! ... i'm considering 1560 series because it's have more room compared with 1510 series to fit all my gears ...

A: The maximum size carry-on bag for most airlines is 45 linear inches (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag). Anything larger should be checked. No oversize packages or luggage can be stowed onboard. The total for this Pelican is 50.4 per my in-head calculation. On big jets you might get lucky. On small connection planes even bags that come under FAA regulation carry on dimensions may not fit. Best solution is to note the actual model of plane that you book for each flight and cross reference that particular aircraft's overhead bin dimensions. It's better to use a Pelican even if it gets pulled from you prior to boarding--if you purchase a soft case and it gets pulled, you lack the hard case protection. Stipulations for compensation due to damage during transportation stress that materials must be in a hard case, and for items in soft cases airlines will categorically deny you compensation.

A: Sorry but we use canon. This is a large box. Canon 70-200 with hood fits cross ways.

A: 2 Nikon D5 bodies; 1 D810 body; 14-24; 24-70; 70-200; 200-400; 3 SB910 flashes; 24 f1.4; 58 f/1.4; 80 f/1.4; 180 f/2.8. I also have the top lid organizer which holds a flash meter, batteries for both D5 and D810 cameras; tools, lens backs and camera body caps, notepads, pens and other small items. It holds a lot of stuff. This is in the back of my car, secured with a padlock and cabled to the D hooks attached to the body of the car.

Therefore we recommend gathering your gear on a table, arranging it and measuring it (allowing for padding). This will give you a much better idea of the interior dimensions you will need.

A: I have a nikkor 70-200 2.8E. It "fits" but just barely. For travel I feel it unsafe and could likely cause damage to the lense if there's any impact or deflection on the lid of the case.

A: Sure, with the TrekPak foam the internal dimensions are 486mm x 360mm. Like others have said you loose roughly 45mm x 30mm x 15mm either side at the bottom due to the wheels
