The Pelican 1610TP Case with TrekPak Divider System Black(Black) is an unbreakable, watertight, airtight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof hard case used to carry any kind of equipment. It is made of ultra-high impact structural copolymer that makes it extremely strong and durable. It has a 0.25" (6.4 mm) neoprene o-ring, 4 easy-open double throw latches that seal perfectly. It has a built-in automatic pressure equalization valve for changes in altitude or temperature. The case uses stainless steel hardware and has padlock protectors to provide added strength and extra security against cutting and theft. It is carried by 3 comfortable rubber over-molded haul handles, a retractable handle and built-in wheels.

Besides being lighter than traditional padded dividers, the TrekPak Divider System and uses pre-installed wall sections, divider panels, locking pins, and an easy-to-use cutting tool. Simply lay your gear in the case, measure and cut the divider sections, and lock them in place with the steel U-pins. Extra divider material is included for occasions where your equipment requirements vary. 7/16" thick divider sections are made of waterproof, closed cell foam that is laminated to a rigid, corrugated plastic panel that resists tearing and shredding. The TrekPak is combined with 1" bottom foam and lid foam to give your gear 360-degree protection.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this case hold a Nikkor 70-200 vertically ?

A: I have a nikkor 70-200 2.8E. It "fits" but just barely. For travel I feel it unsafe and could likely cause damage to the lense if there's any impact or deflection on the lid of the case.

Q: 2. Can someone PRETTY PLEASE give me the EXACT interior width and length dimensions of this case with the foam inserted? The interior dimensions listed only measure the interior of the hard copolymer shell. I want the interior dimensions (width & length) from the interior edge of the foam. Thank you for taking the time to do this!- Chris

A: Sure, with the TrekPak foam the internal dimensions are 486mm x 360mm. Like others have said you loose roughly 45mm x 30mm x 15mm either side at the bottom due to the wheels

Q: 3. How many pro series zoom and primes along with flashes etc can I fit? How many have you fit?

A: 2 Nikon D5 bodies; 1 D810 body; 14-24; 24-70; 70-200; 200-400; 3 SB910 flashes; 24 f1.4; 58 f/1.4; 80 f/1.4; 180 f/2.8. I also have the top lid organizer which holds a flash meter, batteries for both D5 and D810 cameras; tools, lens backs and camera body caps, notepads, pens and other small items. It holds a lot of stuff. This is in the back of my car, secured with a padlock and cabled to the D hooks attached to the body of the car.

Q: 4. What is the height of this divider?

A: The height is about 7".

Q: 5. will it hold a nikon 500mm or 600mm lens?

A: Sorry but we use canon. This is a large box. Canon 70-200 with hood fits cross ways.

Q: 6. Can this case be checked in with airlines without paying oversize fee? For example AA has 62in' limit, this case is 64.5in'. Someone with experience please answer. Thanks!

A: Unfortunately we usually get charged oversize fees for this case.

Q: 7. The dividers in the photo kinda look brownish. Is that the color that comes with the yellow Pelican cases or does it come with the nice black dividers that is the standard color on all pelican case dividers?

A: mine are black

Q: 8. Whilst I am confident of the durability of the case itself, is the foam enough padding to protect DSLRs and lens from rough handling at an airport? Eg if the case was thrown/dropped by baggage handlers, will camera bodies and lens be unaffected?

A: Yes this would protect the equipment inside very well, I would recommend leaving roughly 1-2 inches of foam around the outside just for peace of mind, but I have had no issues with any of my equipment being damaged with these rolling through airports.

Q: 9. I purchased this unit about a year ago. I use it to store my equipment. My question is as follows. The place where I keep the unit is on the other side of the wall of the bathroom. There are heating pipes not far away and they too are behind a wall and under the floor. The relative humidity is about 70% most of the time, and there is little air movement ( I have boxes near and around the pelican). I do not live in a very high humidity location (Canada), and I rarely open the storage unit. I also never take my equipment out in rainy or cold days and I wipe off the equipment with a towel and blow brush after each use. Do I risk mold and mildew on my equipment based upon the above noted information? I understand that that this pelican is air and water tight. Should I be concerned? Thanks.

A: There should be no issue with the gear inside the Pelican but you can also add silica gel to be certain.

Q: 10. I have a 1650 with the padded dividers and a foam lid. Are the dividers sufficient to pad camera bodies and lenses if I check the case when I fly?

A: Richard: My personal opinion is yes. That being said I also have each lens stored in a lens pouch (LensCoat brand) for added protection. Additionally, while I've flown with my equipment I've never checked it. I do have a 1510 which is carry-on approved and have flown with it. It's amazing how much you can pack in that case. I packed two Canon 5D MIIIs, two battery grips, 70-200, 85, 100, 24-70, & 16-35. Also had assorted other accessories in the case too. Hope my response is helpful.

[Universal] I am an Industrial and Commercial Electrician. I occupationally travel out of state (two or three times a month) and always use very flimsy cases that are packed with foam and bright neon green straps. I decided to splurge myself and buy Pelican 1560 Case because its very durable, its bright (easy to find from other black cases). When I travel, I want to make sure my expensive tools reach the final destination. I always have a GPS tracker inside my case so I can track it faster and without any problems. I don't use it for Camera or video equipment. I use it only for tools. I can pack everything I need and still be under 50lb limit. Its heavy duty design, wheels are strong, this Pelican 160 case is bright (that's what I like... to minimize theft). I use it for work. Note: I purchased a Mesh Lid Organizer (A-MoDe Limited Mesh Lid Organizer ) that helps me keep smaller specialty tools more organized.

[Yes] C'mon. It's a Pelican. Would it be anything other than 5 star? Usually I get the foam versions. I splurged this time for the TrekPak and am super happy I did. I was able to fit my 4x5 and 6x17 field cameras, roll film back, a handful of accessories, 4 rolls of 120, and 4 LF lenses inside the case and feel like they are all secure and protected. No way I could have done that with foam.

[Latch] I really like them all for my film work. This one is my favorite sizes - not too big, not too heavy, great capacity. Thanks.

[Latch] This case is just awesome. PROS: Very solid, I use it to carry all my portable battery strobes for location shoots, great padding. It's so strong I stand on top of it to shoot. CONS: It's a bit heavy, the wheels are bit small. Overall, this case a tank.
