Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How many prints can this set have?

A: That depends on a number of variables, not the least of which is the size of prints being produced. Unless you're frequently doing very large prints, the shelf life of the cartridge will be exceeded before you run out of ink. I've been very impressed with the number of prints possible with a set of cartridges, although I did have to replace the black cartridge earlier.

Q: 2. Can I mix different size cartridges? Especially 700ml and smaller 110ml cartridges? I use a lot of black ink and much less of the colored inks.

A: Yes. As the smaller tanks ran out I added the larger ones. I still have one small left. There doesn't seem to be any issue with the different sizes. in

Q: 3. What is the approximate number of feet that this will print? (Assuming light imagery and mostly large text)

A: I have tried calculating this, but it is pretty impossible. Varies for every image, and I have noticed sometimes certain images drain an ink tank that you wouldn't necessarily guess from looking at the image. But, I can say this: I have had many Epsons over the years and they ALL lean on the light black, and / or light light black cartridges quite a bit. Sometimes i will but a complete set of inks, and it is always the light black or light light black that empty first. So stock up!

Q: 4. How do I calculate ink cost per print -- using epson SP 4900?For instance how many ml of ink for a full color 8X10 print?

A: Epson printers come with a built in feature that allows you to figure out exactly what each print job costs. Through the Job History feature, you can see exactly how much ink was used on a print job. The Job History stores the last ten jobs printed by the printer.

Q: 5. So, w/o a dedicated black cartridge I'm assuming it needs to use 3 inks to create the one color?

A: The Epson UltraChrome PRO10 Color Ink Cartridge Set (BH #EPT770CCK) is a kit of the most commonly used colors. The printer needs 10 inks in total to operate.

Q: 6. What is the BEST BY USE DATE on the cartridges???

A: Epson does not list an expiration date on the inks for the P700 printer.

Q: 7. Is this correct ink for Epson XP 620?

A: Yes, the Epson 273 Claria Premium Ink Cartridge Multi-Pack is the correct ink for the Epson XP-620.

Q: 8. I got this to replace the discontinued T8245 cartridge, but my P7000 printer doesnt recognize it. What should I do?Please help.

A: In order to use some of the newer inks in the Epson P7000/P9000 printers, a firmware update is needed. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/3EMP5DN

Q: 9. Can I use pro12 ink in an Epson 7900, and could I use 7900 ink in the 9750?

A: Regarding the Epson UltraChrome PRO12 Ink Cartridge Set (350mL) (B&H# EPUCP12C350K), I will assume that you are asking about ink compatibility between the Epson 7900 and the Epson 9570. While both take Pro12 ink, the cartridges themselves are difference. As such, the cartridges for the two printers are not cross-compatible.

Q: 10. Thanks for your explanation of copy machine vs photo printer. Most of us understand that copy machine prints more text documents while photo printer was not intended to print text but photos. Therefore I would never have thought about asking the estimate of P900 ink usage of print text books — Please forgive me my bluntness. I have also noticed that Epson’s change of cartridge size is possibly a way of increase ink price, e.g. 80ml cartridges cost only $58 each, of course the P900 is much compact. For people who upgrade from P800 to P900, it is definitely a leap of ink cost increase. May I use 3 highly pathetic scenarios for discussion purpose: 1. Print a photo of dark sky with 95% of the entire sky is dark blue and 5% with stars in the night sky. I will think the black and blue cartridges will soon go empty while yellow or magenta ink likely untouched. (How many prints could be produced with 50ml blue and black cartridges in this case?) 2. A high key photo of sky with a tint of orange color. In this case I would assume that the yellow and magenta cartridge will be able to produce a lot more prints than scenario 1. ((But roughly how many prints could be made before yellow and magenta run out?) 3. To print a color chart that divides 17X22 into 10 portions with each of them filled with matching colors of the 10 ink cartridge set. I will assume all the ink cartridge will run out at the same time. (How many prints CAN be produced in this case? — this is Epson color science not artistry. Do you think Epson should print this scenario on to every of their ink cartridges labels, just like a pack of frozen lasagne commonly print “for 2 people or for 4 people” on their packages? ) I am just frustrated that no body seem to want to give a serious answer. I am seriously considering pre-ordering the P900 and I have been buying from B&H for over 20 years.

A: Unfortunately there is no answer. It basically depends on how much ml of ink is on each print & that is something experience & time will tell. this is a high quality photo printer which definitely bring down the cost of more compact printers per print but figure the value of the final product "Gallery & Museum Quality".
